I got American Drew furniture for two bedrooms, and Kincaid for the other, and the prices were unbelievably low! I also got a pair of Clayton Marcus swivel rockers for my livingroom. I had shopped ALL of the new furniture stores in the area, as far as Jacksonville and was wondering if my budget was going to leave half my house empty. Kirkman's was a very friendly, welcoming place to shop, and by the end I was wishing I had a few more rooms to furnish! High quality and good taste in everything I saw. I would recommend Kirkman's to anyone looking to beautifully furnish their homes on a budget!

When you enter in one section of the building you think you've seen it all. But here it's like they slowly expanded by adding segments of neighboring buildings and coming up with something hella dope to shove in the new spot. To start with I was perplexed by the broad selection of colorific ukuleles positioned next to a litany of hats. Can anyone say Instagram-worthy gear? Somebody told these guys that ukuleles and patch hats were in, so they jumped on the bandwagon. Slide to the back and whada we got here? Longboards. You tryna cruise down a mountain pass wearing a 3-percenter hat playing Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" on a ukulele and somehow drinking Ocean Spray for TikTok likes? YUP! Right here; come getcho contradictions. And after a long day of sidewalk surfing, find yourself right back here at the BAR taking in the scenic views of kayaks strung from the rafters (there's a pun there I just know it) and dreamy tents on high. Little balconies with furniture have staircases leading up to them. It is like having two smaller second floors! On the ground level, there is a door in the back leading to another room filled with merchandise. This building definitely nailed the looks. As for the actual merchandise, this building has a variety! There are small pieces of furniture, like chairs, dressers, and small tables. There are also useful, and sometimes funny, accessories for the house. One of my favorite things for sale was a kitchen towel that said, "Alexa, Skip to Friday." You're greeted by a friendly face and a warm welcome upon walking in. We were walked through the process of choosing our scents, candle size and got to work. We created two candles, (1) large and (1) small. The process was fun, and we enjoyed learning how candles are made. They did an amazing job explaining every step. Simple, fun and a unique experience! You get to name your candles! Choosing a fun, uniqure name added to the experience. We named our candles and were told we needed to wait for them to set before we picked them up. They would call us when they were ready, which was a few hours later. We bought a car diffuser and wax melt while we were in store. By the way, I had to come BACK later in the week and buy another one because I regretted not buying one for my car. Do yourself a favor, buy one for every car. You won't regret it. We picked up our candles, which were beautfiully wrapped and packaged to perfection! We kept the lid on them for a few days before burning them for the first time. Once we burned them, we were sold! The wax melts burned beautifully, and the scent filled the room. Usually you have to scrape the old wax off, but their wax melts pop right off! (I'm never buying another wax melt from anyone else.) This is a perfect date night spot, girls night out, or just a fun experience with friends, family or yourself! Support your local small business! Great people, great service, and quality products!

This shop had a lovely window display with a sailboat that brought me into the store. There are so many cool things to check out. From skulls, to pirate lamps, and of course boats! If you have a nautical-theme anywhere in your home you will find a treasure to add to your collection! I found the blue sailboat which I fell in love with before I even walked into the store. It was $49, which I thought was a little pricey. But the painting detail was amazing and I loved the colors of blue and green. Plus it was the day before my birthday so I bought myself a gift lol! And it looks great on my home! If you're ever in the New Bern area you must stop by and check out The Boathouse. They have hats, t-shirts, build-your-own ships in a bottle, signal flags, nautical charts, throw pillows and more. My favorite was the colored glass prisms used to bring light onto the lower decks of boats. I had only seen them in blue, but the Boathouse had several other colors. The old nautical charts are interesting as well, and make you appreciate the old-school way of charting the seas.
