Ok, this is going to be a weird comment, but I've been in dozens of Harbor Freights around the US. Most of them smell really bad and need better air filtering. They stink of chemicals and plastics. This location smelled like a hardware store. That's a thing and people who like hardware stores know what I mean. The staff was friendly and several offered to help me as I browsed the store just to get an idea of what was in stock and how things were laid out. The store is clean and easy to find things too. I just drove a half hour from my house to the new Bern North Carolina store for the pedestal fan. That's on sale. They said they didn't have one in stock.. they claim Jacksonville North Carolina had two in stock, but I need to call and double check so I call and double check. The guy says they have more than two. They got plenty. Come get one. I drove another 45 minutes and they claimed they don't have any in stock. We're sorry, but you have a good day, sir.. I think this is very bad business to advertise fans that are on sale and then have drive all day looking for them. Bought a predator auger and a 8" bit out the door with a year protection plan for $411.00 Didn't start. Spark plug was dry. Sometimes you just get a Chinese 2 cycle Lemon carburetor. That's life. Instead of tuning it you'd think you could just come back in and get a full refund like any other store you just left from an hour ago. Nope. 20% restocking fee. Guy I checked out with never mentioned it but it was on the receipt. So $46 dollars wasted on a piece of junk. Save the time and money and go somewhere better unless it's a tool you don't mind throwing away when it breaks. read more

I love shopping at Harbor Freight here in Jacksonville NC. I've always been treated with respect each time I go in. While the staff may only know some of the products they sell, I look at it this way. Not only do you get what you pay for, but I would rather go here and pay for a tool or product that I will only use a few times than go to Lowe's and pay a much higher price. The staff are hit or miss some are very knowledgeable and willing to help others you can obviously tell if they are there as seasonal workers or trying to collect a check and go home. The quality of tools is not on par with home depot or lowes but if your looking for tools that can get the job done and cheaper than the more traditional tool places come in. They dont try to stiff you with extra warranties and other take your money specials. Great in and out place that will save you money. read more

After I came in to do a return, I noticed and mentioned that they had to finally extended the register tables, just to keep everyone as far away from the cashiers as possible... I was asked by the worker about having a return, I replied I had a item under warranty and asked how they work. The lady explained my options, and how it is supposed to work; ... (edited comment) I retract the rest of my previous statement. I believe life is hard enough as it is, and there is no point in making it any harder on any of us. Especially just to feel justified in my response to being offended. I was TOTALLY unprofessional, if you can please be forgiving as I get my act together! My earlier review was a cheap shot. I was offended and took it personally, but I realized that I was only making life difficult on someone else during the stressful and fearful time during the Coronavirus. Their staff has always been helpful and understanding in what we all go through, there is no point in not doing the same for them. This place is very cluttered and the employees lack basic tool knowledge, but the prices are pretty cheap.

Cheep tools at cheep prices. You just have to check the reviews before you buy. The employees are helpful at telling you were a certain item is but not much beyond that. read more

bought a flag/flagpole. installed and telescopic pole worked ok. was going to bring flagpole down to removed flag because of hurricane Florence and found the telescopic on first stage was jammed and would not release. returned to store for exchange and was told it had been longer than 90 days and could not honor gurantee. I had no way of knowing the product was flawed on the day of purchase. very disappointed with product and store policy. read more

This store is a joke. I bought a OBD2 scanner, only opened the box. Didn't open any of the packing and returned it to this store here in Jacksonville NC. You would think that I was a thief when I returned it back to them with my receipt. I told them upon entering that I did not need it and had only open the box and that the seal package with the scanner was still intact..I got treated like I was a thief, they questioned me. Told me that they don't take back open package's, package with the scanner was not open that the scanner sat in. Just a little piece of the box itself was open..Everything was in the box. They acted like they were the CIA. One clerk the black woman had to call another clerk (white) to inspect the return. Ridicious Bull Crap. Harbor Freight are selling these OBD2 scanner's as Zurich Diagnostic's to which there is no such company. It's a Harbor Freight Product..Very deceitful company and people who work there. If you aren't going to accept return's then put up notice's about it not when someone returns a product that they don't need. Then again treat you like a thief. Hopefully this review will help someone else from going through the Bull Crap. Go elsewhere were your business and your hard earned money is appreciated. They have lost business with me and everyone I know will also no longer buy anything from Harbor Freight, after I tell them what happen when I returned the OBD2 Scanner back to them. read more
