Had sand delivered two large bags, had to be picked up with fork lift. Driver didn't bother to let me know he was here. He just dropped them in my front yard. I ran outside to yell to him he climbed into the truck and drove off. I live on a dead end street. I was standing in the road when he came back waving my arms at him and he drove right by me like I wasn't even standing there. The sand was for a swimming pool in the back yard. Called to complain was told that the driver is not allowed to drive into the yard. I was never told that when I purchased it or i would have made some other kind of arrangement to get it. Now I have two tons of sand in the front yard and 15% discount on the price if the sand. Not a happy Lowes shopper. It will be a long time before they get my business again. read more

I wanted specifically point out Lowes door and flooring departments. Moe in doors is super easy to work with and ensures you get the best quality for the lowest price. He went above and beyond in helping me select and schedule my door installation even when I changed ideas, he was patient and got me requoted and scheduled. The flooring department was just as helpful helping explain the differences in vinyl flooring. The pricing is reasonable and they get to installation very quickly. I've had work done by other contractors and companies but when it comes to reliable big home needs I'll stick with Lowes. read more

I bought a carpet from Lowe's. I chose the stain master pet protect carpet line which was no where near a cheap carpet. They have a sub contacting company do the install. When the installers where here they barely spoke and when they did it was not in a language I understood, but they were nice. I had my cable hooked up to a splitter and the install guy decided to bury the cable under my carpet with the splitter, he cut out a channel in the padding to make room for the cable but the splitter itself was about two feet from the front of my entertainment center which you could feel the hard block under the carpet. The carpet could have been installed in two pieces with only one seam but instead they patched one side with two pieces so now I have two seams instead of just one. After they left I noticed a spot like a round circle like glue or something the fibers where all stuck down and it was hard. I called the install company right away and they came back the next day. He said that it was a defect in the carpet and it would have to be replaced, I thought maybe it was from the seam but he pulled up the carpet and it wasn't near the seam. He took pictures and left the carpet not installed in that corner of the room because he said it would have to be replaced, I also told him about the splitter and how you could feel it and with it being a block it could cut thru my new carpet and also I heard it was a fire hazard because they heat up so he cut the cable on the other side of the wall and pulled the splitter out, remind you he cut out the padding where all this was so now I have spots that have no padding underneath. Corporate called me in reguards to my carpet and stated the pictures did not show the defect so they wanted me to cut a 12 by 12 section out of my carpet and send it to them, I told them where the carpet has the defect is in plain site and not covered by furniture and I asked if I did that if it would guarantee me a new carpet and they said no, so I could have a spot cut out of my carpet and they will not fix it??? I told them to send out their insurance agent to look at it in person they said they do not do that. I asked for a return and they don't do that and could not give me a discount?? They then stated I could hire my own carpet expert to come into my home and write up a report at my expense which I told them I just paid shy of two thousand dollars for one room I was not going to hire a expert when their own company that they sub out to install the carpet told them it was a defect in the carpet. I told them my carpet was still not tacked down on two sides because the carpet installer told me I would be getting a new carpet so they sent out the installers again to finish installing it. They also said he would put a patch in the carpet with the left over carpet which I was not happy about to start with because I didn't pay for a hack job. The installer came out the next day and finished tacking it down and he couldn't believe they were not going to replace it, I asked him about the patch and he said he wasn't told to do that so he would have to wait for them to schedule it to be done, they called and scheduled it for a few days out they said they would be here in the morning, I waited all morning and they didn't show. I called in the afternoon to see why they didn't show up and they said he was doing another job and could come later in the evening, even though I took a day off from work to be here I told them to forget it. Corporate called me to confirm that I didn't want the installers back in my home i told them I paid a lot of money for one room and I don't want a hack job I told them I would be saving my money and going with another company that actually cares about their customers and are not out to scam them. She said ok and I haven't heard a word from them. The time I dealt with this was from October to December which is absurd. I will never go there or recommend them to anyone. The Yopp rd. Lowes has some of the most incompetent people from management on down. I have never had to deal with so many different people that had their own way to mess up a simple order. They refunded me for a partial order, ( the delivery they messed up) but couldn't refund it back to the card I used. I had to drive back to the store and get cash. The employees are old and mean like they would rather look and keep minding their business rather than a simple greeting or asking you if you need any help. We always have a hard time trying to find what we need and even we ask for help it's hard, there's not really anyone around to help out. They seriously need to do better. Was also very helpful with trying to do an online order. He was extremely kind, patient, and exhibited outstanding customer service. I ordered a storm door through Lowes in Jacksonville, NC on Western Blvd. They sent out someone to do the measurements, the guy was unprofessional and seemed to be bothered that he had to measure the door. I went back to the store to select the storm door. I ordered the door and paid for it on the spot. I was told that I would be contacted when the door arrived and schedule a date for installation. The door arrived at the store and we set the install date for 8 Dec 2023 between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm. I took off from work to make myself available for the installation. After a few hours of sitting and waiting and not hearing anything, I called Lowes to get an ETA for the door installers. At that time I was told that the door ordered would not fit and there would not be an install done today. When asked why was I not notified promptly, Lowes said that Lou (Lowe's door department worker) should have notified me (he did not). I requested to speak with a manager and was connected to Chris (Asst. Manager) I explained the situation, and Chris was apologetic and assured me the situation would be rectified as the installer would contact me to fix the situation. I never received a call from the installer, but I did receive a call from Lou, who apologized, and passed the buck by saying the installer should have called and let me know (never happened). Three days have gone by and I still haven't received my door which I paid for 2 months ago, nor have I heard anything from Lowes or the contractor. Lowes has wasted my time, they still have my money, and no compensation for missing work. Do yourself a favor and get your door from a different company that won't waste your time and value you as a customer. read more

This Lowe's has the worst customer service. I've been in there several times over the last few weeks because we are getting ready to redo our kitchen and I have to hunt the employees down, usually in different departments in order to get any kind of help. About 2 months ago we bought a dryer from them and they failed to tell me that I would need a dryer cord because it apparently doesn't come with the $700 appliance, so I had to rush over to Lowe's to pick one up while the Lowe's delivery guys were at my house. Once I was at the store the two employees working in the appliance department were speaking with customers so I waited until one of the employees was done with their customer and then the employee turned around and went into the back of the store. Last week my deep freezer went out and I was running errands over on Western Blvd so I figured I would give them another chance as Home Depot's selection of freezers were majorly lacking! There was about 5 or 6 customers in the appliance section and 0 employees in sight. I went to the Lowe's on Yopp St and was greeted almost right away and bought my new freezer. read more

I have had abysmal experiences with Lowes just want to say that up front. That being said it is not a good thing to generalize so I won't. Recently we decided to purchase a tractor and I was very pleased to get the kind of service that I wanted. We made a choice, the papers were drawn up and we were in and out in about 15 min. We were told that the delivery would be the next day between 8 and 12. We got a phone call which is what we asked for and I then heard the delivery truck and went to greet the two gentleman who were there to deliver the tractor. The two men were named Tony and Jacob. They were very kind helpful guys and they were a pleasure to meet. I give them both props for their help and professionalism. First things first...amazing customer service! I won't go into details, but if you have a reasonable request I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to accommodate your needs. I had a somewhat complicated return that was completely painless. I wish other stores realized how much a single customer service can reinforce brand loyalty (like this), or make you run to the competition forever. Lowes certainly has my business. Went in to buy a shed for $998. My husband and I picked it out online but we could not get the offered free shipping to post when checking out. I went to the store to buy this shed and have it delivered. Customer service was very confused and was on the phone for a while trying to figure out who could help me. I also needed material for the roof, flooring, and paint because it was not included. I believe her name was Arielle. She directed me to someone named Mike in hardware. I went to isle 15 and the guy at the desk was not Mike and he had no clue what she was talking about. By this time, I'm so irritated! Another gentleman approached us and I just said forget this. My husband can get a shed from Home Depot or come back to Lowe's another time. I really just wanted to get this task completed for my husband so he just had to build it on the weekend. I bought a dryer from this store and paid almost a thousand dollars for it. ( $955.41) It stopped working a few months after I purchased it. It was still under warranty. I tried to talk to the store manager about the dryer. He was extremely rude to me. He basically told me -- now that I had bought the dryer and it was over 30 days old-- it was not his problem. We had lumber delivered for a deck, but there was a mix up and they delivered the wrong blocks to support the deck posts. It was late on a Saturday evening, and we were on a tight schedule to get a big deck completed in 5 days. William Hornback, who is in management, brought us the correct blocks, in his private truck because the rent-a-truck was not available, and carried 24 correct blocks from the curb to the backyard, and picked up the wrong 24 blocks and carried them out. This was way beyond what an employee is required to do, but this is why we will never take our business anywhere else! What other company would have allowed or encouraged an employee to help a customer is this way?!! Nick, who is assistant manager at Lowe's, also had influence in this decision making. We appreciate him also! We finished our deck in 5 days, passed all three city inspections, and it is only because we could start early Sunday morning with the correct footer blocks! Thank you William Hornback, Nick, and Lowe's for management influence and instruction on how to please the customer and make things right! My husband and I began a remodel of a portion of our home back in May of 2014. We went to lowes on a promise of great customer service and easy order and install procedures. What we have experienced has been quite the opposite. Here we are , into the month of August, and we still have no flooring installed. Let me just say, if you should go to lowes on Western Blvd in Jacksonville, NC, avoid a sales associate by the name of Angel. She was extremely rude when it came to helping us try to solve the issue of a refund, rebill for our first order. To the point that when she told me it ( the refund, rebill) was lost she got very frustrated with me when I requested that she try to find it so that we can get on with the hope of having flooring soon. She walked away and left me standing in the flooring department for 45 minutes. Needless to say, I left without my refund, rebill being completed. I considered using another local flooring company but had already paid for the existing carpet to be removed from our home as well as the installer to come out and do a custom measure. My husband convinced me to let lowes have another chance to get it right, after all, he was a very proud lowes employee. I did go back and give them an opportunity to make good. Three weeks later when the installers showed up at Lowes to pick up the carpet for install at our home, imagine their surprise and ours when they found that there was only 78 square feet of carpet. We needed 936 square feet. I spoke with a manager by the name of Nick. Nick was as helpful as he could be and let me know that Brian Levy ( the store manager) would contact me as soon as he returned from vacation that Saturday morning. When Brian did not call, I called the store and requested to speak with him. When he answered my call, he said he was "afraid" to call me. What? Afraid? I am simply a customer looking to him for answers. It turned out that his fear was that I would want to discuss my husband, because he had quit his job earlier that day due to a lack of compassion for him where our flooring situation was concerned by the assistant manager, Justin Burkhardt. Instead Justin Burkhardt wanted to focus on what he referred to as my husband's mistreatment of Angel, the flooring sales associate I mentioned earlier. We had not even spoken to her since that day. We did request that she not be involved in our purchase do to her mistreatment of me weeks earlier. Brian did take over the order on Monday last week, to the point of satisfying our order with a new contract and a significant discount for all of the trouble. Brian promised to stay on top of the order, notify me personally when the carpet was received so that we could expedite the installation process. I have not heard from Brian since, nor can I get him on the phone. In fact I have been told repeatedly that he is not in and that they don't know when he will return. I got the same response this morning from the customer service associate who answered my call. Having finally had enough, I called lowes corporate and expressed my concerns. When corporate called my local store, they were told that Brian would be in at 12:30. I am going to call corporate again on their advise, and we will have a 3 way call with Brian Levy. ( funny how he is there when corporate calls, and not when I do). I will update this after I talk with them/ him. *As promised I am updating. Corporate was not able to reach Brian Levy. Evidently he will not be back in the store until Friday the 8th, which also happens to be the day my carpet is supposed to be installed. I have a new carpet installation company calling and saying that they are going to be doing the job. I am at a total loss. I just want our home back to normal and this nightmare to end! Corporate has taken an official complaint at this point, given me a reference number, and promised to have a message sent to Brian to contact me. If I have not heard from him in the next 24 hours, I am to call back to corporate. I do feel the need to say that corporate lowes has been helpful, both installed sales, and customer service. read more

Don't use them to get carpet installed! We began this process in mid March. This is their lengthy process: We paid a deposit to have them send someone out to measure and give the quote. 3 days later someone calls to schedule that. March 27 someone comes to measure and tells us the store will call for the quotes. A week or so goes by and we get someone to give us the quote and we go into the store that day to order. Pay for it all up front and we chose a carpet that the store associate told us was something they keep in stock so it won't take as long as special orders. They finally call to schedule the install a week after this and the install date we got was MAY 11. We are a military family, moving back into our home that tenants pretty much destroyed, which is why we have to replace all of the flooring. So we didn't unpack the bedrooms because we knew it would all have to be moved later so why bother. The installer gets to the house on install day and says he can't do it because they ONLY MOVE FURNITURE. He tells my husband that he has to go to Lowes to pick up the carpet because he only has the padding with him. My husband told him he would move everything out of the rooms while they went to get the carpet. My husband had two rooms completely empty and the corporate office calls to reschedule. My husband had already taken off work to come home for all of this to happen today. PLUS WE'VE BEEN WAITING NEARLY TWO MONTHS FOR THIS! Needless to say we are getting our money refunded! Insane wait times and horrible service. They should have told us that in the beginning that we had to have these rooms completely emptied. read more

Whenever I have any home improvement needs, I typically think of Lowe's Home Improvement over other stores. Since we knew Lowe's had Independence Day sales, we went to purchase a washer/dryer set. At my last visit, I saw Ally (Allison) in the Appliance Section. She was super friendly and helpful. She ensured our order was correct, and she ensured we ordered each part that accompanies the machines. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. If you get a wandering employee, they are really good about helping you find an employee for the section you're in. My favorite thing about this store is that the employees don't dodge customers like they do in other places. They always make eye contact, and initiate a greeting or offer assistance. Even if I don't need help, I appreciate not being treated like the task master to be avoided. The store has always been clean during my visits, and everything is well stocked and sturdy/safe where it is placed. The larger and heavier items are always secured and I don't worry about anything falling. We will go out of our way to come here rather than Home Depot for the great customer service and prices. read more

For customer service and, to a lesser extent selection. My wife and I went with our son to order a play set. We had been looking online and doing our shopping in stores as well. What made us decide in lowe's was that they had an installation service. Now if you're like me and work 11-14 hours Monday-Friday you're willing to pay someone for what would be at least two days of work for you. We went on Memorial Day to buy the playset and after having paid for it we were told that the installer only installs company "A" play sets and not company "B". Well, since we only went there for the installation because their selection is smaller and more expensive, we returned the play set. Why? If I'm going to loose a couple weekends we might as well get a little more for our dollar. But surprise! While they were able to take the money out of our account right away it's going to take them a week to put it back! So now we have to wait and pay more for a play set when, you know, they get around to giving me my money back. No rush lowe's... whenever is convenient for you. read more
