A great park to walk around with great views of the surrounding mountains. The park is kept clean and well maintained, in the afternoons the sun hits just right over the mountains to give this park the right light, beautiful! Bathrooms are clean with water and soap to wash hands. There is a tables, grill and potable water in the pavilion area. Plenty of parking and lots of tree shade Pets area $5 parking fee

An amazing place!! Just got married here in the back 2 picnic areas and it was beautiful! If you looking to stay within a budget and want to be outside for a wedding this is the place to go! Such an open area and with the bbq, tables, sink area and bathrooms all in the general area it makes it so easy! We had our caterer pull around back and they had more than enough room To serve the food!

Soule County Park is absolutely charming, just like the city of Ojai. Boyfriend and I stumbled across it while looking for a spot to throw the Frisbee around for a bit, and man am I glad we did because we could not have asked for a better spot. The park is surrounded by mountains and an orange grove, and is "off the beaten path" enough so that there is very little traffic and the only thing you really hear is the occasional horse from the boarding spot next door. Tranquil and clean. A few little things to be aware of: 1) the park's bathrooms were locked when we were there on a Saturday and 2) when you enter the park, there's a little pay station with some envelopes, and you're expected to pay I think $4 to use the park. I'm not sure how this is actually monitored, but it's something to be aware of.

A quick search for a dog park on Yelp yielded us this gem of a park in Ojai. We needed to stretch our legs and let the dog play for awhile. $4 on weekends to park, $2 on weekdays and it is on the honor system. You place a yellow slip on your dash after placing cash in the box. Cash only, piggy bank style. The dog park is the last stop all the way to the back to the left passing lots of families BBQing, tennis play, baseball play, green spaces and picnic tables. Lots of parking and at the base of the mountains, the park is so pretty. Large trees offer some shade. There is a little dog park and then for dogs over 21lbs, the big dog side. Well thought out, smart planning. Poo bags are available but no water so bring your own and a little bowl. Also, there is a lot of dirt and dust patches, not a ton of grass so I would bring closed toe shoes as opposed to sandals to avoid getting too dirty. We were the only ones on the big dog side but we had our "chuck it" ball launcher with us and there were lots of tennis balls laying around the park for that. Restrooms available around the park. We had a great time and if I lived in the area, despite the cost, I would be here all the time.

This is a park with a few trees and LOTS of open grass. Great for big family BBQs or parties. Also good for walking, yoga, or other exercising. I like that it's generally quiet and not crowded. As if not many people know about it. Parking inside the gates is $4 and a ranger may be present at peak times to make sure you pay. There is an off-leash dog area at the back of the park, and also more BBQ and picnic tables at the back, if you have a giant group. Limited playground equipment. If you want a playground for the little ones, try Libby Park. This is better for BBQs and events.

5 Star Rating Lookout Park in Summerland, near Santa…read moreBarbara, is an absolute gem! This clean, beautiful park, perfectly situated on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, was the ideal spot for our family reunion this past June. We'll definitely be back! Value - 5 The value here is incredible. We reserved Area A for just $65 for the whole day for our family reunion! It came with a large, double-width bbq, two picnic tables and a long, high-top serving table. That's a steal, especially considering places in Oxnard (which aren't nearly as bougie or clean) were charging well over $200. Quality / Cleanliness - 5 This park is impeccably maintained. There are two large picnic areas (require reservation) and several smaller picnic areas with bbq (first come, first served), and the large, well-maintained play area for kids is fantastic, including a jungle gym and even musical instruments. The path down to the beach is somewhat steep but totally worth it. The beach itself is super clean, with sand at low tide and lots of cute nooks and crannies to explore. At high tide, it becomes a rocky beach as the water comes right up to the path landing. Plus, it's pet-friendly! Service - N/A As a public park, there isn't a traditional "service" component to review, but the booking process for the picnic area was smooth. Physical Location - 5 The location is simply stunning. Being on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean is breathtaking. The park is clean, the amenities are well-kept, and there's a cute little town/shopping area just past the Amtrak overpass that's easily walkable from the park. Everything about this location is perfect.

I like that there is some shade up by the park. The dog park isn't for me but I appreciate the layout of it with both the small dog section and the big dog section. It's not so much the park, it's the dog owners which made me take a break from this spot. Like other reviews said some people just aren't mindful dog owners and why they take their dogs to the park is beyond me. My dog is shy and attached to my hip so he didn't love the dog park to begin with. When I'd come here to this specific dog park there were enough instances of aggressive little dogs attacking other dogs that I kind of just became over this place. If I felt my dog was safe here I'd try to bring him more but with the little aggressive dogs & his disinterest we haven't been back for a long time. Some of my friends have said good things about this dog park so I'm sure it just depends on the day and which set of doggies you come across. My more updated review is for the pickleball courts. Came today and I enjoyed these courts. They are nicely painted and clean. My only upgrade is I wish they had more squares. Only two pickleball courts so if it's a busy day you'll definitely need to wait. However today wasn't too bad and we got to play a lot. Met a lot of nice fellow players and overall it was a good day. I like that the parking spots are close to the courts. Easy. A nice place to play as long as it isn't busy, wish they had more courts but I just doesn't seem like they have the room. I'll definitely be back though.

I've spent countless mornings and afternoons here hiking, clearing my head, and getting a great workout in while still enjoying nature. The trails are well maintained with multiple options, so you can keep it light or make it more challenging depending on your mood. The views are beautiful, especially in the early morning or at sunset, and it never feels overly crowded. It has a calm, local Ventura vibe that I really appreciate. I've also brought kids I nanny here for walks and fresh air (sticking to the easier areas), and it's such a great space to reset. One thing to note: when it's hot, be cautious of snakes on the trails--proper shoes and awareness are important. If you're looking for a reliable, scenic place to hike in Ventura that locals truly love, Arroyo Verde Park is a must.

The highlight for me was the toddler playground. I work with children and often like to meet at parks to see their gross motor skills and work on them. This is one of the few parks left I have seen with sand. The park was very clean and even though there were many dogs off leash running around, pet owners were quite aware of where their dogs were and I didn't see any dog poop in the grass. You also can't beat that gorgeous ocean view. I came on a Friday late afternoon when they don't charge a park fee. Big plus!
