I tried a cycle class for the first time after seeing it on TikTok, and it was such a great experience! The check-in process was seamless, and I really appreciated that they provide cycling shoes without an extra fee, which is a rare find. Our instructor, Paisley, had incredible energy and made the entire session so much fun. I especially loved the playlist--she played a perfect mix of hip-hop and R&B that kept the vibe high. My only critique is that I wish there were a few more instructions for beginners, particularly on how to set up and adjust the bike to your size, as I struggled with that part. Paisley is one of the FEW trusted, intelligent, smart, fun fitness instructors of color who works within this community. Having access to her classes is few and far between and being a person of color, I purposefully will go out of my way to support. I have ridden with Paisley for nearly 5 years now and Baddie Brunch originated as an outlet to share a space with people when she was going through a rough life experience. The class is fun, uplifting, and meant to provide a safe and up beat space for everyone. Paisley gives several notices via a class announcement, social media posts, etc to let people know what the tone of the class is. Simply, if you don't like it DONT COME. GUYS! If you want to have fun, while doing an intense workout... This is it! Loved the vibes and energy of Soul Cycle. I tried other spin classes, and this is by far my favorite. I tried the themed spin class, which was "Taylor Swift Eras" and loved the energy in the room. I enjoyed how there was time to yourself to go at your own pace and then times with synced choreography. I've had a few classes here now over the last couple of weeks and I love it. At first I was a little confused about setting up my bike on my own and still getting used to the shoes lol but the front desk was super helpful. The space is always clean from the bathroom to the studio which I really appreciate. One day it was super hot and steamy inside and I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a hot ride class or just the weather but I guess I burned more calories that day. It was just a bit uncomfortable. So far I've liked all the coaches. The one I remember is Arianna she plays good music and really sweet and encouraging. They're all welcoming and I love that they don't mind if you just want to ride at your own pace. I usually come right after CrossFit so sometimes I skip the dancing or arm movements and just focus on endurance and they totally support that. Overall I've been having a great experience. I love SoulCycle! I've taken a couple of classes here at the Walnut Creek location and I always have a blast! If you've never been to SoulCycle before imagine a cycling class that's mixed with being at a nightclub haha! It's dark in the room and they play a lot of great music! I first heard about SoulCycle from the movie "I Feel Pretty" with Amy Schumer and it's one of my favorites! I love the feeling of just letting loose on the bike. I promise I'm the worst one in class but I still have a lot of fun haha. The facilities are really nice and kept clean. The lockers even have an outlet so you can charge your phone! how cool! I'm writing this as a long-time rider who is deeply disappointed by a recent experience with Paisley's "Baddie Brunch" class at the Walnut Creek studio. During the class, the music and mic usage crossed a line from edgy into uncomfortable and unprofessional, including repeated explicit lyrics. As a person of color, this was especially disappointing--not because of the genre or theme, but because of how it was delivered and the lack of intentional coaching, leadership, and awareness in the room. What ultimately led me to step away from this studio was not just the class itself, but how feedback appeared to be handled afterward. Rather than reflection or empathy, the instructors public response felt dismissive and defensive, with repeated social media posts and reshared commentary from other riders that appeared to invalidate the experience altogether. As a rider, that lack of accountability made the space feel unsafe, unwelcoming and came across as vindictive. Instead of learning and moving forward, it felt like the focus shifted toward protecting image and publicly disputing a rider's experience. That approach to community-building--especially from an instructor--does not align with what I come to SoulCycle for and advise you move with caution as this instructor doesnt seem to vaule feedback and might publicly scrutinize you. Because of this instructor, I've made the difficult decision to part ways with SoulCycle after many years of riding. I truly hope the studio reflects on how feedback is received and how community is fostered, because this experience was not what SoulCycle should represent read more

My favorite place to spend my Saturday mornings - 9:30AM survivor with Franklin. I have been riding at this location for 8+ years and I can always get in a good workout. The location is great. There is free parking up to 3 hours and you can shop around at Broadway plaza afterwards. The environment is always clean and always has a good selection of merchandise. The positive: great workout, clean studio, friendly staff. It's awesome that they give you a towel and shoes. I love that. The studio is pretty much in the parking garage and parking is free for the first 3 hours. Though coming later in the day I'd imagine there would be more traffic and less parking. The bikes are nice and really easy to pedal. The negative: I would lose my hearing if I continued coming here. There is no way I would ever go to this studio again. I've been doing spin classes for over 15 years and there is absolutely no reason to ever have the music that loud. I had to go out to the front desk at the beginning of class to ask for earplugs. Which the staff laughed at my request and then gave them to me. Thanks. I also couldn't understand anything the instructor was saying. It sounded like Charlie Brown's mom. I was not a fan of how close the bikes are together and they assigned my seat in a group of 6 people. With all we have learned from the pandemic, why wouldn't they try to space people out? The class started late, I was told to be there 20-30 mins early for my first class and I was done in 5 mins. Seems silly to tell people to get there that early and then have class start late. Wow! Just WOW! DOPE cycling class with FRANKLIN! THE MUSIC WAS ON POINT. I felt like I was walking into a club and it hyped me up for the class! Definitely got an intense and challenging workout for the entire body, upper and lower. Not only are you using your legs but weights are incorporated into the 45 mins workout to get them arm gains! He pushed the entire class to the max! He gives words of motivation and it keeps you in the zone and wanting to give it 1 HUNNIT. Will be back! read more

Amazing cycle class with Franklin! From the moment you walk in, you're pumped hearing the music. I LOVED his music selection, it kept me highly engaged. It was just a bit hard to hear exactly what he was saying but how he demonstrated the moves helped me follow along for my first time there. Only thing I would have wanted was for a staff member to show me around but maybe it was too late because it was 10-15 before the class started. read more

This is a great location! The facility is relatively spacious, and you can park in the garage (come early on weekends though - there will definitely be spots but you may need to park further away). I've been to 6 studios in the Bay Area and have no complaints about the staff and setup at WC. I'm a big fan of Chris's classes - great music, clear instruction, motivating, tough, and not too soul-y. I've taken his classes elsewhere in the Bay - I'm happy he's teaching at WC now since it's my closest studio, so please fill up his classes so he stays! The instructor is not even riding with the class the entire time. It's almost like I'm paying for someone to just be yelling, motivational words at me. I've been to SoulCycle twice now and experience the same thing. I think it's important that the instructor rides with the class the entire time I think about 75% of the time the instructor is just fist pumping and jumping up and down, the instructors do not do a good job of explaining the Choreo and discography. It's pretty disappointing. I prefer just ride studio in Concord. read more

Great class today. I haven't been to a SoulCycle in a long time, yet alone worked out in forever. So this was the perfect return to working out. The gym is super clean and sanitized. Upon entering I was surprised to see so many workers , but it was welcoming to see all that support. I appreciated that there were staff members on-site to help u with the bike set up, as I forgot . There's towels available. They do offer shoe rental and water sale, so that was a nice offering. Renting shoes will add up so I asked if my peloton shoes would clip, they said yes. So I plan to use that next time. So glad to hear that bcuz that just makes me want to return to the studio bcuz of their flexibility. Shoes can be pricey and renting it, even priced. I have been to other soul cycle but it's my first time at Walnut Creek soul cycle. Staff: Great and friendly staff. Only downside is I had to wait couple minutes to ask a staff adjust my bike. I think they were too busy or short on staff. I didn't have the same issue at other locations. Instructor: I loved Catherine's class! She pushes you harder and she cares about each single student. She corrected my position during the class. I really enjoyed her class. I just wish the stretch can be a bit longer but overall is awesome. Met with extreme enthusiasm by Audrey and Tess at the front desk, busily sanitizing and replacing cycling shoes, they stopped to take the time to explain the SC experience. From the bikes you spin, to the different rides, and how you sign up. It's not a membership, you buy your rides and come each Monday morning you either call or pick a class online with the SC application. Concerned I might not be able to handle it, I was assured to just try my best and the instructors would accommodate me. They even offered a saddle that would fit my big ass! I've always wanted to try Soul Cyle so I was psyched that I could do it with my fellow Yelpers and + 1 for a Yelp elite event. Registration was super easy and I enjoyed the fact that they had gum, earplugs, and hair ties right at the front in case you forgot yours. Located in Walnut Creek parks gets a little crazy here so be sure to come early to make it to class on time since they start right on the dot. They have lockers in the back and bathrooms as well so don't worry about not having a place to put your things as you cycle your butt off (literally). The class itself was crazy and Catherine was amazing. I loved her energy and the motivational tid bits she added within the session. Her music taste was also A-1 for a 1:30PM class. I definitely left feeling like I had a great workout/drenched in sweat. I only wish the seats were a bit more comfortable but I guess that's the point to not be comfortable and push yourself. read more

My first class with Jenae was hard but she made it fun. My more recent classes have been with Luigi, which were full of energy. The instructors are the leaders the fun. I appreciate how they push the group as a class. The vibe of the classes are two thumbs up. For those self conscious, this is the perfect place to try out a spin class. The class is basically lit up by candles. So no pained faces in the mirror are seen. Plus the music is on point, which is a great distraction from the bootie numbness brought on by the seat (teehee). Soulcycle was fun. It's like a candlelit spin class with extra good music and a young, hip crowd (I fit RIGHT in!) I brought my own cycle shoes, but they didn't have the right clips, so I, and pretty much everyone else, rented shoes (free for first-timers.) It's like bowling. The good news is that the shoes felt clean, not disgusting. The bikes, the room, everything... was clean and sparkly. Bleach-scented towels were ready on each bike when you walk in. Nice change from 24 hr fitness. My one gripe was that you have to go through the locker room to get into the cycling room, and when you're going in, EVERYBODY else is coming out and there's simply not enough room for everyone. It's chaotic. I really don't know how the mostly early 20s crowd can afford $30 per class, shoe rental, $14 socks if you forgot yours, and the smart water everyone bought every day, but it appears that they do. More power to them because it adds up. They're smart cookies at Soulcycle. It's an expensive spin class with a little jazzing up with dancing and weights but it's SPIN. They just make you feel like you're a little cooler because you're at SOULLLLLCYCLE. Either way, it was fun and the time flew by. Woot! read more

This is the place to go when you think of cycling. When I came in a few months ago, I walked in and was greeted immediately by the assistant manager, Josh. He was the most helpful with answering any questions I had and we had a great conversation. Most of the staff was incredibly friendly except the person that is supposed to be (the manager). I am very surprised she is the manager because of her attitude and she acts like she does not care. She has the worst customer service I have ever seen. 0/10 would recommend her to run a business. I cycled here and there when it was outside, so I decided to come back when it was inside. The ride itself was amazing and the instructor made it even more fun. What a gem! I am so glad to have found soul cycle. In the past month I have taken classes from Allie, Sierra, Baylee and Courtney. All are very talented and personable instructors. Very diverse class types with arms weights sections that really make this a full body workout. I have built more coordination in addition to getting a great conditioning and strength workout. Sarah, the manager is so accommodating to needs and questions and I always look forward to saying hello and having friendly convo. In fact, all the instructors are incredibly friendly in and out of class if you have any thoughts. The locker areas and showers are spotless and have great products available for use by the likes of davines and le labo. You will sweat a ton, and have the best endorphin rush after, and will pretty much be instantly addicted so be ready for that. read more

I took two classes on Saturday and Sunday with Bea and Steph. Both of these ladies have amazing energy. This was my first time with each instructor and I must say they are incredibly skilled. The music pumped me up throughout each session. I wish that the studio had the lockers in the men's and women's shower area instead of where they have them now. This makes it difficult to maneuver thru the crowd to get to the lockers. Hopefully in time they will make renovations to resolve this issue. I will make this place my regular weekend "hangout". My girlfriend randomly decided to take me here last Sunday. Neither of us had ever cycled before, nor have we rode a bike in the past 20 years. I knew this was going to get interesting. Coming in and making our reservation was very welcoming. The staff is very spunky and fortified with good vibes and positive energy. We signed up and even got to choose where in the room to be. The room inside is very exciting! The lights are pretty much off with subtle vibrant lights on toward the front. My girlfriend and I got help setting up the bike and ready to go. Coming in shortly after us being setup was this big ball of energy. Her names Catherine. She is such a boss! She was excited to see new faces, and the veterans or whatever you'd like the call the experience riders gave us a quick applause, immediately makes us feel like we belong. Now is the class. Hoooooly shit. I couldn't hang. I really couldn't. But that doesn't mean it's for the much more advance. She tells you to push yourself. She wants you to push yourself. She has a quote for damn near everything which kept me inspired through the class, and she's yelling though the mic as if that's not loud already with her war cries. Amazing. Just amazing. Like wow. However when I arrived, the staff was very good with showing me how to adjust the seat and get ready for the ride of my life. My instructor was Franklin, he was energetic and his playlist was lit!
