The establishment immediately makes an impression, boasting lovely outdoor seating alongside an interior that is wonderfully fresh and modern. The entire venue is spotlessly clean and pristine, elevated by artistic design touches and a lively, sophisticated ambiance that is thoroughly captivating. The hospitality was top-tier from start to finish...swift, attentive, and delightfully welcoming. To set a marvelous tone for Friday, I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, which arrived crisp, perfectly balanced, and wonderfully refreshing. For my main course, I selected one of their signature creations, the Chopped BBQ Fried Rice. The kitchen operated with remarkable efficiency, serving the dish after only a few brief minutes. When presented, the meal was an absolute culinary triumph exceptionally rich, beautifully seasoned, and executed with high-status precision and flavor. Between the immaculate cleanliness, chic aesthetic, sublime cuisine, and stellar service, Eem earns full marks from me. A thoroughly marvelous Friday discovery I shall most certainly be returning

Thai is my favorite food and it's hard for me to find a place truly deserving of 5 stars. But Eem deserves all 5. We were given a complimentary Field Greens Salad that was a misorder from a different table. It was delicious - fresh and tangy. We ordered family style to try different dishes. My favorite was the White Curry with Brisket Burnt-ends. The brisket melted in your mouth, and blended well with the white curry. The Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken was incredible. Crispy outside, tender on the inside, and amazing flavor. My only qualm is the pieces are on the larger side, but they don't provide a knife. But that didn't stop me! The Thai tea was lightly sweetened, and came with cute umbrellas. I am still thinking about this meal 4 days later, and looking forward to coming again when I'm in Portland next. The demand for this place is great! We got there for an early dinner at 4 PM, with little to no wait. But by 5 PM the wait was over an hour long, so plan accordingly! Khao Moo Dang Pi-Set (5/5): Upgrading to the Pi-Set is worth the extra $3, which comes with all the standard options plus extra eggs, juicy dumplings, tender yu choy, and a side of bone broth. The five-spice pork is super tender and tastes very similar to char siu. The pork belly had a great crunch and was perfectly salty, which contrasted well with the sweet Chinese sausage. The dumplings are really juicy and justify the upgrade on its own, in addition to complementing the side of bone broth. Everything ties together when coated in their signature Khao Moo Dang sauce, which rounds out the rich meats with the perfect amount of sweetness. Logistics Tip: Takeout packaging holds up well, keeping the crispy pork belly from getting soggy on the ride home while ensuring the broth stays piping hot. Upgrading to the Pi-Set version further improves an already generous meal into an expansive dish that can easily satisfy a huge appetite.

Been here twice on my past two trips to Portland …read more. The food is pretty darn good -- and pricing is also pretty fair for what it is. However, -2 stars for the last time I was there .. I was with my brother, and he had tipped them well. It was later in the evening and people were hawking our table .. and we weren't aware it was "bus" your town table, felt the need to give up our table quickly and we were already on the street and a male waiter literally ran after us to let us know where we could put our dishes? .. Ok, bro, I get it but was that necessary? Why do you guys want to be tipped 25% and when someone makes a mistake, you run after them to tell them to bus their own table? Wasn't that MORE effort than just doing it yourself and saving your PAYING customers from embarassment? Not sure if I would come back and dine-in again .. Pretty turned off and taken aback. Take-out is definitely on the table but please give your paying customers a break and some empathy.

The texture was perfectly chewy, and there was so much robust chive flavor. It was bursting with stir-fried chives. There was a crispy Thai chili crunch on top that gave a nice contrast to the mochi texture of the rice cake. The simple sour soy sauce on top had a nice umami flavor to round it out. 9/10 I ordered the special, which was a grilled chicken thigh, sticky rice, lettuce wraps, and a sauce. You roll it all up together and enjoy. The chicken had great flavor and was tender. The skin was nice and crispy. Eaten all together, the flavors came together nicely. The sauce didn't leave me impressed and was more chopped herbs than sauce. I wish the lettuce leaves were bigger because most were too small for me to put anything inside. Overall, I enjoyed this dish, but it wasn't anything I would find myself ordering again. 5.5/10 My dining partner ordered a classic pad thai. He thought it was "pretty decent, 7.5/10". I think there are plenty of other Thai restaurants in the city that offer better value and flavor, so for that reason it gets 3/5 stars.

The friendly staff promptly showed us to our table. A QR code stood in for the menu, an arrangement I tolerate rather than celebrate. One quick request produced printed menus and restored diplomatic relations. We began with shrimp salad rolls, which arrived remarkably quickly, with crisp, fresh vegetables. The accompanying peanut sauce was flavorful without being thick or ponderous. Frankly, the only thing preventing me from drinking it was a lingering respect for table manners. My spouse ordered the Egg Noodle & Basil Stir-Fry, generously loaded with shrimp. I chose the House Thai Peacock Curry with tofu. Its combination of Panang curry and peanut sauce was rich and intriguing, with just enough spice to keep each bite interesting without turning dinner into a test of character. The food arrived quickly, our server remained friendly, and the lively atmosphere made Thai Peacock an excellent choice before a show at Portland Center Stage. The restaurant we remembered fondly is now firmly back on our list. Thai Peacock earned an encore.

How do I know about this restaurant?…read more For a very brief period of time, I decided to DoorDash... on a bicycle. It was very brief, due to the fact that Portland's hills are... well, I'm in a good shape, but I won't be in the Tour De France. A side benefit is that I learned where a lot of good food in Portland resides: Thai Peacock and Little Peacock made up a fair amount of my orders. How much do I like Thai? So much that I learned to make it myself, and I make a better than average Pad See Ew/Kee Mao... So when it came time for a lunch break, well, I couldn't wait to order from Thai Peacock. I got the Pad Ka Phrao (there was not an option for super hot / Thai hot... my one complaint about their system... more on that in a minute)... and started walking. It was easy to pick up, well labeled, and hot when I arrived. The reusable bowl (for the paper bag crowd who are taking notes.. this is Portland ya know)... was full of delicious meat and vegetables. The rice was packed separately, along with the single serving of added sriracha. The serving was more than generous, and good in its preparation. There are some caveats here: Thai Peacock does not make their dishes in the same way that many other Thai restaurants do... they do it with minimal ingredients, hoping you'll add on vegetables. It gets annoying when you're looking at ordering pad se ew, and you might otherwise get a similar dish for $7-$10 cheaper. The lack of an ability to add additional heat is also unwelcome. However, I understand that each Thai restaurant has its own way of making a specific dish. The generous portions make the bare bones dish a good value, if not the best representation of the dish I've had. This would be 5* for a group meal (no shortage of options, and consistent service), and 4* based on comparison to other Thai dishes at similar price points I've had. 5* here based on what most people would likely say. An extremely reliable restaurant with tasty food and generous portions deserves it.
