Severe Safety Hazard (Glass in Food) & Unresponsive Management…read more We have been regular customers at Express Italian Eatery, but our recent visit to the Burlington location on September 3rd involved a severe food safety hazard that was handled terribly by management. During our meal, I bit into a sharp piece of glass cooked directly into my pizza. I brought it to our server's attention immediately and handled the situation quietly out of courtesy to other guests. I had also asked her to acknowledge the glass found in my pizza on my receipt incase I unknowingly ingested some. I had emailed management when I got home and an owner, Sunny phoned me, acknowledged the severity of cooked glass in food, thanked me for keeping the matter quiet in the dining room, and explicitly promised to follow up to make things right with some meal credits. Since then, management has completely cut off communication and failed to follow through on their own promised resolution. Due to management's total silence, this matter was formally escalated to Halton Region Public Health. Finding physical glass in cooked food is a major safety violation; having to chase management for basic accountability is unacceptable. We will not be returning.
