Granted it was 40 minutes from closing time on a Sunday, BUT - 2 diners ordered 2 different entrees that should have had very different flavor profiles - both were served hot, coated in sauces that were different in color, but both only very salty. What a GEM in Murphy! The food was so good! The restaurant it self was spotless upon entry. They had a few outdoor tables, which we would have sat at if it had been day time. We sat in the car a short while before entering the restaurant and I was completely floored by the number of people coming to pick up take out food. We were seated right away, near the fire place. Our server was the only reason this place did not earn 5 stars. Our server, a gentleman with glasses, seemed annoyed at my questions about the menu, and when asked about recommendations, was less than Enthusiastic about giving them. We then ordered an appetizer to start with and ordered our food about 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, our server did not seem to understand "appetizer" and brought everything all at once. My dining partner was unhappy because he did not want to eat the cheese rangoons once his food arrived. Our food portions were huge. I had the pearl shrimp with coconut, as recommended by another yelper. He had the orange chicken with fried rice both were delicious. I highly recommend! We will return! read more

I had tried leftovers my mother gave to me and, with New Happy Garden gone, I needed a place that made the noodles just as good. Well I ordered so much stuff to try and it was delicious. Found some new faves and I'm already craving another go. The only issue I have is that al the fried rice I bought was inedible, which was sad cuz I ordered extra. It was so bland, dry, and overcooked, which is why I can't give a perfect review. My hope is that it was just a simple mistake and not how they would normally serve their fried rice. So that rice mishap aside, definitely worth it. read more

I'd give this 2 1/2 stars. Very, very average. I ate here a year or two ago, and felt like it was ok. Tonight I was really craving Chinese food. I live near Asiano's, and have tried it a couple times, but it's awful. So I decided to make the 30 minute drive to So's. I wish I had saved the gas and time. I ordered hot and sour soup, pork egg foo young, and chicken lo mein. The chicken lo mein was ok, but that's generous - it had a slightly sweet flavor, and that has no place in lo mein.. The egg foo young was pretty good, and the highlight of the meal. The fried rice it came with was dry and flavorless. I assumed it would come with white rice, or they'd ask me what I preferred, but no such deal. But the hot and sour soup was just bad. Had a burnt taste to it, and I couldn't eat it. I had heard from someone else that it had gone downhill. I don't know if it was ever worth the 4 stars it has, but if it was, then indeed it has gone downhill. read more

Got takeout from this spot a couple weeks ago and was so so impressed! I ordered the senchuan chicken and steak lunch portion with fried rice and veggies my boyfriend got sesame chicken with fried rice. He doesn't eat veggies and they easily accommodated him with veggie-free fried rice at no extra charge. I also ordered steamed pork dumplings as an appetizer- amazing! The egg rolls that came with my dish were excellent. Might I add that we got HUGE portions (we ordered lunch size) that lasted us 2-3 meals, all for about $8 each unheard of. And. So. Good. They had excellent curbside service- called the food in and never one left my car, a young man brought the food straight out and was very nice. I can't recommend this place enough! We plan on getting more takeout from here whenever in Murphy. Hopefully soon we will feel comfortable and safe enough to dine-in at restaurants, but for the time being I don't think this location is even allowing that. read more

So's is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Murphy. All of their food is cooked fresh to order and they use fresh ingredients, unlike most Chinese restaurants. I got the orange chicken with rice and an egg roll, she got generals chicken with rice and vegetables and 2 cream cheese Rangoons. We both chose ice water. They do not have ice tea.
