I called for help to have a kitchen drain cleared. Response was quick, scheduler was great, and the technician arrived within a few hours. Technician used no drop cloths and the old pipes busted through and showered my basement and furniture in black gross water. I had things moved out of the way but it splattered all over. He cleaned some in the kitchen but after he left I saw there was splatter all over the kitchen, on appliances, and into the hallway. The technician said, "That sucks, but it happens." Then collected payment and left. I followed up with SOS with two emails and have gotten no response. Hugely disappointed. I even pointed out to the tech that the pipes were ancient as my home is 100 years old; he said, they actually don't look bad. read more

Phone operators were friendly & easy to schedule with, even over the weekend. I called MANY places around Minneapolis & got voicemail systems & no answers from most of them since it was Saturday evening. Our guy showed up a little late, but got right to work solving our issue (tree roots in main line causing a back up). He presented options for getting his equipment into our narrow basement (disassemble the machine & charge for the time, call in a backup guy & pay him for his time & assist ourselves/save money & time) to my husband along with clear prices to correspond to each choice. He guaranteed his work for 90 days (no charge if they need to come back for the same issue) & gave us clear instruction for maintenance of our main line. I had also scheduled with a bigger name plumber but found their appointment setting & cancellation process way more aggravating than SOS's. They also had to call me to reset my appointment time & wanted to charge me extra for coming out over the weekend. After the dust settled I dug out receipts from the previous homeowner having done the same job (same property) years prior with the big name guys & they paid 50$ more than I did. Yay!! I heart SOS. I will definitely use them again for drain/sewer maintenance or problem resolution & will upgrade my review to a five star if they're on time next time. Recommended! read more

I had Randy come out to my house today (weekend) to clean my main line. I didn't have any knowledge of an access point other than my toilet. This meant more work for him but he simply got to work and cleaned out our main line. After we were done he gave me some advice on where to look for a different access point to our main line. Straightforward, fast follow-up, quick scheduling, reliable, reasonable rates, no nonsense. I'd give them 5 stars if they'd docked their prices due to their quick service. Let me explain. The scheduling rep called me off an online inquiry within minutes of my posting it. He scheduled service for the basement floor drain for the next day. Quoted price upfront, explained clearly what would incur additional charges should there be any. The expected service duration was an hour, and the billing was quoted as such. The tech was done in less than half an hour. Bill was still for an hour. I get the service biz and their pricing and stuff, it's fine. It's just the only reason I didn't give them a "It's the best it can be!" Overall, I think these guys were pretty good, and I am very satisfied with the service. Let's face it, having to pay someone to clean out your floor drain isn't sexy, and having to pay anything for it isn't a dream purchase. You do what you gotta do, and move on. read more

I had a clogged main, but not an extreme emergency so I was able to set up the appointment for early Monday morning. Showed up on time, was very courteous, and charged a very reasonable rate. Jordan was the service technician that came by and took care of a few problems. In order to clean the main sewer line to the street he needed to remove the cover. But that cover hadn't been removed in many years. I thought he would give up trying to remove it but he kept working until it finally moved. He replaced it with a new cover that will be easier to remove in the future. He also cleaned out the line from the kitchen to the basement. They arrived on-time and fixed the drain in less than 15 minutes. The serviceman was extremely courteous and helpful. They snaked my main and laundry lines out to the sewer and removed tons of nasty things, which I'm just going to go ahead and blame my housemates for. Over the phone, they stated their pricing and possible other charges upfront. They called ahead. The guy came over, Fix the kitchen sink in a hour's time frame. My house was experiencing slow to no drainage. I called S.O.S. because they had good reviews, and they sent someone out right away to check the situation. The plumber, Brad, showed up and for a very reasonable price set to work on snaking my main sewer line. While doing this job he encountered severe blockage, at which point he asked if I wanted him to throw a camera down the line for another $225. Sure enough, the line was blocked, but he wasn't able to get through it, and the camera wasn't able to help determine the cause. He went on to tell me my sewer line had probably collapsed and that I needed to contact an excavating company. So for $380 I still had a blocked sewer main, and now I was facing a potentially very expensive sewer replacement. Upon his advice, I called a few excavating companies....they all told me to get a second opinion. I did. For a third of the price the second plumber not only cleared the sewer main (which was blocked by roots, not collapsed), he also included the camera and was able to show me my drain was cleared. It just took a little effort on his part to grind up the roots that had grown in to one of the joints on my sewer main. Overall, I think this company is probably a good one (which is one of the reasons I chose them), but ultimately I didn't have a very good experience with them, and I feel I was overcharged for lazy work. read more

I really don't want to put this netagive review but SOS left me no other choice. Our toliet leaked. We called SOS on Sat & scheduled an appointment to have Randy comed over on Mon. He gave us a 4 hours window; we were sitting at home for 4 hours thinking he would be here any minute, and Randy didn't show up. We called his company, apparently Randy didn't even remember he had scheduled the appointment w/ us.So we called Randy, he didn't answer our call, but he did text us saying "i am messed up". And we waited for another day feeling he would contact us & reschedule another time, unfortunately Randy decided to completely ignore us. By now, we still haven't got any call from SOS. We did end up finding other plumber fixing our toliet in a very timely manner. I am so surprised to see SOS have such a high rating on yelp. They are probably too successful to care about our toliet. I am glad to know there are other plumbers available, we will for sure not go back to SOS, and I am writing to let you know, watch out when you make appointment with SOS. read more
