Nick worked his tail off! If I had a company like this, I would want Nick on my team. Normally when we have the main line cleaned out it is easy peasy. However that was not the case this time. The last guy who put the cover back on must have cross threaded it. After some back breaking work, Nick persuaded the cover off and was able to clean out the drains and we no longer have water backing up from the floor. Nick you saved the day! Will never use or recommend this company. I have a restaurant and was having plumbing issues with my toilets backing up. I called and the plumber shows up at 6, tells me there's nothing wrong and charges me $150. 2 hours later at 8 PM, my toilets are backed up with water coming out in various drains throughout my restaurant! I call them again to tell them of THE SAME problem. Guy arrives at 10:30 pm, snakes a drain and tells me that solved the problem. Of course the charges me $150 plus extra drain cleaning fees AGAIN! Even though they didn't fix this problem just 2 hours ago! 3 weeks later....I'm having the SAME problem AGAIN! They do not stand by their work, double charge, and have incompetent people. Stay away! Excellent service from Sean/Shaun/Shawn (however he spells his name) and he complies with state recommendations for safety during covid19. I could not gain access to my tub drain and clear it myself. He was able to remove the stopper and reattached it so it is easier for me to remove in the future. I really appreciate this and am impressed with how quickly the clog was removed from my drain. I would not recommend using DC Annis Sewer. I called them as a preventative measure to clean my main sewer line because of tree roots. I was not having any back up at the time. The next day it backed up into my basement. DC Annis would not stand behind their work and come out right away. Also, the owner wanted us to give him our credit card number again after we already paid. The owner of the company was very rude to me on the phone and tried to convince me something else was wrong because he did not want to pay a technician to come out again. They have a 1 year warranty on their work, but they don't stand behind it. read more

I'm so surprised there aren't any reviews yet about this terrific business. I've had D.C. Annis out to my house 3 or 4 times over the years and I've experienced consistently excellent service. And when I find excellent service in a reasonably-priced, locally owned business, I want to shout their name from my rooftop. I live in a 90 year old house that gets tree roots in the main sewer line about every 2 or 3 years, so the line needs to be cleaned out with one of those huge commercial snake thingies. Sewage, the smell, spinning blades--this is definitely a job to hire out. It's messy, but a fairly straightforward job. D. C. Annis does it for a standard charge (which they will actually tell you over the phone, which no other plumbing company will) and guarantees the work for a year. By contrast, this last time I mistakenly called Roto Rooter, and getting their bid was a horrible experience and a complete waste of time. They wouldn't tell me how much it would be on the phone, and when the guy arrived his price was twice what I had usually paid AND he couldn't be sure that would be the final price. I quickly realized I had called the wrong company and couldn't kick him out of my house fast enough. His price kept dropping as I showed him the door, which tells you how overpriced their first price was. Thank goodness I found the little sticker with DC Annis' name on it, so I called them last night and they came out early this morning. No extra charge for coming on a weekend, and the price they quoted me was the final price. What a pleasure to work with! read more

My house main sewer line was plugged. Called the 24/7 dispatcher and I had a technician out in about an hour-and-a-half. Very professional technician brought his equipment in and took care of the problem straight away. Would call again as well as recommend to family and friends. read more

DC Annis Sewer came to my house to run a clear out on your sewer line (which was draining but starting to gurgle occasionally) and has a known low spot 40 ft out they get their clearing tool stuck it takes hours (during which time you attempt to help them), and a second tech with a camera to determine that the line has been broken and their tool is stuck 11 ft down a 100 ft line. They take their tool out, reconnect the plumbing and leave a mess. They claim the line was already broken (when a previous camera failed to see a hole here) and say that you should pay 170 for the line clear out and an additional 100 for the camera they put in the hole to find out how to get their line cleaner out. Do you pay these people for exposing if not causing thousands of dollars of damage to your home? If that is the case, plumbing is the best business in the world. You get paid whether you provide service or not...heck...you get paid even if you make things worse! I could go to the grocery store, buy milk, drink the milk, get ecoli, and would have no recourse because the ecoli could have been in my glass rather than the milk. I could take my car to get fixed, have them break the transmission, and pay them for breaking it with no recourse - even if the transmission was working when I drove it in. The best part of this experience is a toss up - the financial hit this has provided me? or the joy of mopping up my basement with bleach last night...or the condescending lecture I just got from the plumbing manager who has been doing this for 25 yrs and can prove without a shadow of a doubt that this is my fault and how I am getting a 186.00 discount for this "service". He is probably out 100-150 bucks in tech time for this issue that has costed me thousands of dollars and feels the need to hit me up for money for a failed service. read more

I HIGHLY suggest you NOT work with this company! We had them out after my husband rented a snake and got it caught in our line. We asked that they help get it out and then finish cleaning the drain. The guy they sent, honestly seemed to have no idea of what he was doing (he didn't even bring in any equipment other than a clip board). After being down in our basement for less than 15 mins (half of it he was on the phone) he came up and said, "I gave it a couple of tugs and got nothing!" I then got a feeling that this tech had no idea what he was doing and no idea how to confidently get it out, so I called my husband and then my husband asked if he was only going to pull on it by hand then he just wanted him to leave. The tech then offered to run a camera down the line (for $200) with no guarantee that he'd be able to really see anything or he could put his snake down (for another $200) but said, "it could get stuck and then we'd have a real problem!" After my husband just said we'd figure something else out, he said he would have to charge a $100 fee and mentioned that he technically should've charged us MORE! I asked him thoroughly about any charges and he never once mentioned this fee. What a joke! He did nothing! My husband then reached out to the owner because we felt that the charges were unfair since he didn't do any work. The owner proceeded to yell at him on the phone and then hung up! Completely unprofessional. We'd highly recommend Ron The Sewer Guy! They came out later the same day, got the snake out with no problem and then proceeded to clean all of our drains for $273. They were honest, fair, prompt and professional! Great company, wish we would have found them first! read more

This company was scheduled to come out to our home by Centerpoint. They scheduled an entire day as the window. From 7:30am to 11:30pm, they never showed. After waiting an entire day with no word, we went to bed. At 1:30 am, the guy called and when we said that we didn't want them to come out, he said "Good, I can go get some sleep". The next morning someone called and said that the tech would be out between 3pm-7pm. Again, no one showed up and no one called. My husband called Centerpoint, who then reached out to them. The tech called us and said that we weren't even on his schedule. Then proceeded to tell us that he doesn't do the scheduling and he can't help. The best he can do is come out at 3am. I have kids and we work. No, 3am doesn't work. When he expressed dismay at the 1:30am phone call, he said "most people don't mind". I can't imagine that, that's a true and accurate statement but either way, this is deplorable customer service. When we called Centerpoint, they explained that this is not how any of this should have happened and they are escalating this. I hope they do but even if they don't, social media is a powerful tool and I hope whoever checks these reviews works to address this. Excellent service from this company. The plumber I called does not snake out main sewer lines. He did, however, recommend that I call D.C. Annis for the best job at the best price. When I made the appointment, I was told up front what the charges would be. Rob showed up on time and was both personable and knowledgeable. I had DC come out to help me with a sewer back up and they could not have been better. My true test of a company though is how they treat people that I recommend them to. I had them go to an older couple who had another company say they needed $12,000 worth of work... Matt came out and did his inspection. He cleaned to the street and recommended they put a screen on their wash machine. Who remembers their service worker person name unless they are that much better than everyone else? These guys totally screwed me over. They were hired to clear the main drain. They sent out a rookie who immediately got his equipment stuck, left our sewer open all evening and then was joined by a more experienced mentor the following day to show him how to get his equipment unstuck and clear the drain. I got charged over 3X the promised amount as I paid for the rookie to sit all day with his hands in his pockets and watch the more experienced guy as well as pay for the more experienced guy they sent over. read more

The service window was between 2-5. No one showed up nor called. I called at 5:15. No one at the company was there to respond. A messaging company relayed my call to someone who eventually called. When I told him it was okay that he was behind, but that a call would be nice to say he was late, he didn't apologize or care. He said he would call within the the hour and be at my house. An hour and a half later, I called again. No one called back for another hour. I left a few messages with the answering service (they were very nice!). Eventually, I said I would start Facebooking and tweeting about how BAD this business is. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. They did an incredible amount of damage to our home on a routine shower clog, forced us to take them to court, we won the judgment 100%, and they still will not pay. My wife and I recently had DC Annis Sewer out to our house in South Minneapolis for a routine visit to unclog our shower drain. They sent out a super young kid on a Monday night who dragged in a old machine up our stairs and went to work on our shower. He was a 'bull in a china shop' and jammed the power snake into our drain with no apparent skill or finesse. He filled up the tub to show that the drain was unclogged and when he let the water out we heard it downstairs....he had blown through new pvc drain pipe and the water came through our ceiling destroying our new furniture, oriental rugs and hardwood floors. The kid took no responsibility for it, still asked me to pay for the visit and told me to call his owner in the morning. The owner Bob Immerman was an arrogant businessman who took no responsibility and instead told me to take him to court because the contract they make you sign before they start any work releases them of any damage that they may do to your home. My wife was 9 months pregnant at the time. We were left with no choice but to take them to court to get our money back for the damage. WE OF COURSE WON IN COURT as the judge confirmed it was negligent behavior and they were at fault 100% for the damage. Now they wont pay the judgement. Wont return phone calls. I have to now go through the courts, get the sheriff involved to get a lien on their company. It is too bad because all they have to do is accept that they made a mistake, take responsibility, and pay for the damages the court determined they should pay. But they still wont. Please do not use them. We have told so many contractors throughout St Paul and South Minneapolis this story and everyone is going to recommend to never use DC Annis Sewer. read more

I called this company on a whim back in 2011 when my main sewer line backed up on a Friday evening while I was showering before my brother's wedding rehearsal, causing backup in my basement. They were speedy and very reasonably priced. I have also used them multiple times since to clear my main sewer line and my floor drain. Had an emergency call for a backed up floor drain and DC Annis sent someone over within a hour. Mitch was very professional and he spent the full time frame at our place to clear out a clog in our main line. He ran, from what I saw, the snake 3 times, 2 to clear and 1 to make sure it was cleared, each time with different cutters. Needless to say, we were a happy customer in the end. read more

Called on Sunday 10 AM for overflow of basement drain due to presumed block of sewer main. Nick arrived a little before the appointed 3:00 and quickly went to work. He passed 130 feet of 3 types of snake drill bits without success for two hours. He recommended a second visit by a different technician knowing that sometimes a second try is the answer. At 8:00 Monday, Luke and a trainee, Garvin, arrived and the findings were discussed. It seemed likely that the blockage was due to ice caused by an uncapped clean-out 130 feet from the garage clean-out. They tried passing 130 smaller snake drill that Luke had customized. Still unsuccessful, they procured a jet-tipped hose that created a high-velocity water spray that cut through the ice blockage, much to everyone's relief. They capped my second clean-out and snaked another drain in my laundry room as drainage was slow. I was very happy with the professionalism and hard work displayed by all DC Annis employees. I also had renewed appreciation for those household amenities that we all eventually take for granted. I highly recommend DC Annis, not only for their honest hard-won efforts, but also for charging the same on Sunday as they do the rest of the week. My unsolicited advice is to check any clean-outs that you have outside in the autumn before the snow flies (as I consider myself lucky to find mine under 18" of snow) and make sure it is capped. The last thing you want is a blocked sewer main, but if it happens, call DC Annis-prompt, professional, hardworking and reasonable charges. read more

HORRIBLE ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This company was hired by the buyer in a real estate transaction to determine why a floor drain was slow. The buyer paid for a camera inspection only. The employee determined the floor drain was clogged. He said the main sewer line was clogged with tree roots that took it from 4 inches to a mere 1 inch. He also said it looked like a hole was present in the sewer line. When I questioned him where the hole was he came out with different numbers. He claimed something was at 110 feet which would have been the middle of the street.(The city would be responsible),he offered to clean the floor drain at my cost, I told him no thanks. I called my plumber. He was surprised the clean out where the camera would have been placed was not disturbed, Nothing moved in the area, paint cans surrounding the clean-out not touched. We had Mpls//StPaul heating and plumbing come and clear the floor drain and camera inspection. I had my plumber at the inspection. NO tree roots, no hole in the sewer line, clay tiles looked like new. Flushed the toilet several times and free flowing water visible on inspection. BEWARE ! read more

Annis had a guy at our door within 35 minutes of our call (late night, IIRC) -- we live in Burnsville -- and he was knowledgeable, efficient, cleaned up after himself, and the price was very reasonable. Have used this company for past 10 plus years for routine maintenance and major clogs, have been satisfied with results, until today, called for routine main line cleaning, Adam showed up seemed a bit arrogant but who cares if you get the job done, so he brings a smaller auger in and proceeds to get it stuck in main, took some time to undo and tells me he pulled sand out and thinks line should be shot with a camera to see what's going on, I agreed to pay an extra $185.00 and another person showed up, ran the camera and did not see anything wrong, what Luke told us was Adam did not use a large enough auger and got it hung up on roots, well seems like I was scamed to pay for camera when Adam didn't use proper equipment to start with. I will find a new company for next year, beware some of these guys get paid extra for the additional services they get you to sign up for.i will ask more questions next time and won't be so gullible, although I thought I could trust them. Made an appt. for sewer line cleaning. They cancelled it saying too busy that day. Rescheduled with an agreement for a discount for the visit. The tech. said he couldn't do the job alone and would have to get another helper. That more than doubled the original quote. Other services I dealt with in the past did the job with one tech. I declined. No discount was given for the service call as promised. My calls about not applying the discount were brushed off and emails disregarded. read more

BEWARE.1 star is too high of a rating. First issue, the technician had his work phone on speaker, and his co worker yelled F-you and the Tech yelled back shut Brian! The tech didn't know that I heard him, and I was too worried to say anything. Luckily, my 3 year old daughter didn't heard this. Second, the drain that was worked on started leaking. Before the tech came it didn't leak. He explained that is what the signature is for. A ptrap gets old and these things happened he explained. I was furious at this point. The dc guy left, with no advice to fix this issue. I called the office and was told I would get a call back by Bob. I never received a call. So I called roto rooter they fixed the ptrap for me and gave me a discount because of what had happened. I will never recommend DC Annis to anyone. Unprofessional employees and the owner doesn't care about issues you may have, which I thought wasnt the case with small local companies. Guess I was wrong. Don't make the same $119 mistake I made.
