Best REUBEN SANDWICH that I have ever eaten! I am not qualified to grade, but people say it is…read moreauthentic to New York (NY). I inquired and can confirm the main ingredients actually come from NY: Rye bread, pastrami, corned beef. They also have bagels from NY, and you can buy bread/bagels to take home! Ok, let's discuss this REUBEN masterpiece. They have a few Reuben options, and I selected the NY Reuben which seemed like a good idea and comes as a triple decker. A good sandwich starts with good bread, and this IS GOOD BREAD. This rye was soft and didn't have the strong spicy rye flavors, but rather just a mild flavoring...which I really liked. The meat is critical to a Reuben and I can attest that the Pastrami and Corned Beef was phenominal, tender fall-apart deli sliced cuts of meat with incredible flavor. Next a Reuben needs good dressing. I don't know what the dressing is, but it was heavenly. Put all of this together and you have a cravevable meal that will bring you back again! I am not a COLESLAW kind of guy, but this stuff was through the roof! It was not sour like many make it, rather more creamy and watery. It also had a slight sweetness, albeit it wasn't sweet. The seating environment is clean, open and yet has a slight cafeteria feel. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, even though there were many customers at the lunch hour. My server, Amanda, was easy going and helpful when I discussed menu with her. She was not like some waiters that are not helpful in saying "it's all good". I will be back when in Sandy Springs!!!

One thing I really like about this place is the staff; they are very friendly. I haven't tried any of the entrees yet, but I've enjoyed their pastries, especially the Cardamom Brioche Knot. For drinks, my favorites so far have been the Matcha Latte and Iced Coffee. That said, I find their coffee to be on the more bitter side. Even the Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which I typically expect to be sweeter, leans more bitter and less sweet here.

I love that everything is halal, so I can eat whatever I want without any worries. Personally, my top favorites are their spicy smashburger and elote hotdog. The flavors of both are just out of this world. The staff members are really nice and friendly. I also love the fun decor, including the deli/sandwich puns along the walls. Overall Jay's Deli is worth checking out and I look forward to continuing to order from them in the future.

My man Jack makes an excellent cheesesteak…read more I'd seen a comment or two that the meat might be a little puny, so I ordered extra meat, and it was perfect. Double meat would have been too much, it would throw off the meat to bread ratio. Plenty of thin sliced juicy steak, with the veggies and cheese just all melting together. The bread was so soft, the whole generous cheesesteak was a joy to eat, I hardly needed to chew it. I'm seriously thinking of getting another one tomorrow.

They were great at answering my questions and it helped me move around the menu. Let me start with they have hand-cut fries...they have really, really good hand-cut fries. If you have hand-cut fries, you have a friend in me, if they are really good, you have a fan! My first trip I went specifically for the Reuben. It is what I saw that they had and that was my mission. It was a good Reuben, I think enjoyed it and would go back for another. This trip I was thinking Cheesesteak, but the Outlaw caught my attention, a cheesesteak with a twist. I was a fan of the twist. The pepperoni and salami plus the grilled red onions and banana peppers with the hot sauce crushed!

I owe Brooklyn Deli an apology for not finding them sooner…read more As a New Yorker turned Atlantan, I have spent the last year quietly lowering my expectations for bagels here. I've had some that were OK. Some that were good-ish. Some that were simply round bread with a hole in the middle. I began to accept that it just wasn't a thing here. And then today I ordered the whitefish bagel from Brooklyn Deli. Oh. My. God. The bagel was chewy, fresh, and actually tasted like a BAGEL. The whitefish was incredible. The whole thing tasted like nostalgia. Like somebody briefly picked me up from Atlanta and dropped me back on 24th and 3rd for brunch. Absolutely remarkable. No notes. My bagel-related cynicism has been temporarily suspended, and Brooklyn Deli has earned the extremely prestigious approval of one extremely dramatic former New Yorker.

(I'm looking at you, Jack's New Yorker Deli.) But I was in the Ansley Mall neighborhood for some errands and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It was a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door so that is usually a good sign. I went with the Brooklyn sandwich (Hot pastrami, coleslaw, swiss, spicy mustard, & Russian dressing). You can opt for the smaller portion of meat (the ATL) or the larger portion (New York). It was just the right amount of coleslaw, mustard and Russian dressing so that the bread wasn't sopping wet. And the pastrami is hot and it wasn't overly greasy either. A nice balance with the side order of potato salad. It was a little more sandwich than I needed for lunch but it was pretty faithful to New York style all things considered. $18.50 for the larger New York version of the Brooklyn sandwich including tax. I was tempted by the Dr. Brown's sodas from back home and all of the pastries and deli items for sale as you are making your way up to the front to place your order. Sunday afternoon is not really the time to shop around because of how busy it gets in there so a return trip is definitely in order.

Turkey, ham and Swiss cheese minus the cheese with the works - no onions served on French bread and Greek mayo instead of regular. It's just so oily and good. Oooweee! They're also great about modifying cooking oils for those of us who prefer olive oil or other healthier options. When I called to explain there was a mixup, the lady on the phone blamed me for it. The order just says "cheese" which I understand how that is confusing and is an error with their ordering system. But instead of her trying to correct the mistake, she wanted to debate me. I finally asked her if she was going to fix the error or not. After a brief hold she came back to say the manager would make my correct order. I back to the store, showed him the menu under omelettes, but he also seemed to not care and say it has nothing to do with them. But it's their business so they should be concerned about the customers receiving the correct order. So I won't be back. Oh and they even have a picture of a breakfast sandwich next to what should be a cheese omelette

I loved the caramelized jalepeno slices since they added it beautiful hint of spicy sweetness to the dish. The bread has a nice chew and it does not get soggy fast. - CONS: Not that special. I dont know why it's "korean" since it tasted like a normal cheesesteak but with a few jalapenos. I also wish they added in more jalapenos (I got like 3). 2) Garlic Fries with Ranch: - PROS: Very nice texture with a crispy outside and fluffy inside that is not too dense. The flavor comes from the garlic mince that is on top. The ranch is like a mixture of an aioli and tartar sauce (I think they make it in house, correct me if I'm wrong). - CONS: Inconsistent texture as some of the fries were dense but a few had that good hollow crisp bite. Quite oily too. Overall, I enjoyed the cheesesteak but would probably skip the fries next time. I do believe it is good especially the bread. I don't think it is worth all the hype it gets, but it is good.
