Finally ventured here on a Saturday evening for a few drinks. Lucked out getting two seats at the bar. Very extensive and fun cocktail list. My boyfriend got this delicious fig and pomegranate drink, while mine was mezcal and pear. Wine list looks amazing, and I definitely want to try their dirty martini next time!

Swordfish

We went last night and although our reservation was a bit late, the staff could not be more lovely. I thought the food was as good as I had remembered, although my main course of swordfish arrived a bit cold. I did enjoy it though. We also never got one of the appetizers ordered. We also had a delicious dessert. It could have been softer, but it was delicious. The ambiance was in the holiday spirit and the place was mobbed. We had an enjoyable evening.

Gingerbread espresso martinis

Stopped in for Monday night happy hour at the bar to enjoy the holiday decor. It was crowded. Had to flag down a bartender to clean off the bar area where we sat since it was so dirty. They have a menu of seasonal cocktails but the gingerbread espresso martini one that's all over their Instagram wasn't printed on it - it's $17 and I wasn't a huge fan. Ordered the half portion of spaghetti & meatballs on their happy hour menu. Was told it comes with two meatballs, but the bartender also added an extra charge of $4 for an extra meatball - wtf. The meatball wasn't very good and pasta was mediocre. I'm still so underwhelmed by this restaurant. Expensive but average to below average food and service. Make sure to check your receipts too...

Pasta was really good and fresh, and the appetizers was amazing. Service was great and the inside was very nice! Recommend Artichoke Dip and Cacio E Pepe.

Pistachio Pasta

I had such a lovely dinner at Sorellina Hoboken. The menu has quite a dinner selection. The pistachio pasta stood out to me on the menu, and it did not disappoint. If you love pistachios and pasta, this is a must have. The burrata was delicious with a nice sized portion side of toasted bread. I topped off my meal with a nice tiramisu- a perfect shareable size or for you to enjoy on your own. I definitely will be back to try more outstanding options!

I really wanted to love this place, but I was so disappointed when my food came out cold. The flavor was there, but you just can't enjoy a meal as much when it's cold. Was hard to track our waiter down, but the restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing!

(Dined 07/12/2023 WE @ 5:45pm): Sorellina shouldn't feel like a younger sister to anyone! My friend wanted to try Sorellina - and their Wednesday Wine Flight Special, so that's all it took! As much as I loved Italian food, I rarely dined out at such restaurants except when it came to pizza. As I continued to explore Hoboken, there truly was an alluring energy about this town. Would this eatery change my "sore" attitude, or would I "lean" a little in their favor!? PURCHASE Bread & Butter Spread (COMP): We could've easily filled up on the fresh slices of bread along with the whipped butter spread but we didn't. 3-White Wine Taster Flight ($18.00 x2): This was a great way to try wines new to me, and all were lovely! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wK9RkMjLzpjxqf8nVNS2qg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Fried Calamari Antipasti ($18.00): A large portion of crispy squid rings, these were da bomb! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bbmGJOsP9hLtB3lPMTog9g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Mortadella & Melon Antipasti ($17.00): I enjoyed the thinly-sliced meat that paired well with the bread, but I wasn't impressed. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=gpVjVGDwPfHCDMJoA-U-iQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Caesar Salad ($12.00): This simple salad with the interesting green dressing, was a pleasant palate cleanser. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7i_zlvKiUYYw_uJ08oVDWg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Lobster Scampi ($32.00): The pasta was lovely, the flavors jumped out at you, and there was lobster in every bite! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=0rXRs1CLOVZuq4sEHSKmdw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Grilled Branzino ($32.00): A simple dish, the fish was flaky and meaty but wished there was more to it. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1ChDtxUYWZVEVhOFxlEV-g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 2019 Friuli Friulano Scarbolo White Wine 4floz Glass ($12.00 x2): From a taster to a full glass of creamy sweetness, I paired this with dessert. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Ja2-bVEjabu7hJLT7zim9A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 7 Layer Cookie Cake ($12.00): The vibrant colors caught my attention, but the separate flavors of almond cake, raspberry jam, and stracciatella gelato solidified its worthiness. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Qq6NZjT8UcM4tMT3Mw1cIQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 3-Scoop [Sweet Cream, Pistachio, Blood Orange-Basil Sorbetto] Gelato ($9.00): At $3.00/scoop, this was a pricey but delectable dessert. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JrAjgayu9yN9VgIX8dyWQg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Mandatory Credit Card Fee (3.00%): C'est la vie... SERVICE With reservations, we were warmly greeted by a friendly young hostess who showed us to a great corner table that allowed us to watch the world pass us by. Our excited male server gave us menus, explained the evening's specials, made some recommendations, provided water, and gave us time to decide. Once we were ready, he was attentive the entire time as everything came out in a timed cadence so the table never got crowded with empties - bellissimo! PARKING (Street Only; N/A this instance) We took a Lyft here. Otherwise, as was the case for much of Hoboken, there were limited spots along the main drag of Washington St.. and all surrounding streets unless you were lucky enough to find an empty spot, or you took public transportation which stopped nearby - nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A darling corner location, colorful flower baskets decorated the black metal railing used to enclose the eatery along the sidewalk that later converted into an outdoor dining space, the interior was simply charming https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Q6XektjSzUKOxTbB6Iyicg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with a mix of brick, tiling, and wood along with a quaint bar. Tables were placed side-by-side throughout for a more communal feel. Plenty of natural lighting flooded in through the surrounding large glass windows and front doors while various electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I noticed a couple blank TVs while international music played in the background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=fuyIaLfDN8941_7ih-TX2g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL We had a brilliant evening at Sorellina, and were generally impressed from start to finish. The food menu was a bit curtailed but varied enough. They also had weekday happy hour specials. I felt the prices were reasonable, the food was incredible, portions were large, and the service impeccable. And, whenever possible I liked to support small family-owned or local businesses. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $209.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.5 STARS

I've eaten both brunch and dinner here a number of times. This is my daughter's favorite place and she really wanted her bridal shower here so I decided to honor her request. I dealt with Nicole, the events manager, who went above and beyond. She dealt with my never ending questions with a lot of patience! I had the entire restaurant and chose four passed appetizers, charcuterie and crudities to start with. I also had four mixed drinks plus beer and wine. For my entrees I chose three dishes that came with salad. Everything was delicious! I wound up with just 23 guests so the flow was great. I also had two vendors in the back so they were out of the way. Sorrelina was so accommodating with my guests that had various food allergies and made it a point to bring them special dishes. The desserts they provided looked delicious but I didn't get a chance to enjoy them. Philip, the bartender was fabulous and kept the drinks coming! I'm sorry I don't remember anyone else's names but the staff went above and beyond! I highly recommend Sorrelina for brunch, dinner or an event.

BURRATA STROZZAPRETTI
Nonya B.

My burrata strozzapretti tasted like nothing I've ever had before, in the worst way possible. There was barely any burrata, no sauce, dry noodles, under seasoned mushrooms, pieces of corn kernels in it. The starting bread and arancini was good. Kale salad was dry with bizarre large chunks of cookie. The prices were pretty high for how mediocre the food was.

Wine flight
Isabel A.

Stopped by this beautiful restaurant on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. They offer $18 wine flights on Wednesdays--three pours. I went with the pasta Bolognese, and wow... easily one of the best I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and just the right balance of sauce and pasta. Cozy vibes, great service, and delicious food. I will definitely be back!

We went here for a birthday dinner and were very pleased with all of the food we got. Everything was very rich & flavorful, and I loved the texture of the pasta. Our waiter was nice but a little bit pushy, but not so much it took away from the experience.

The food here is always great! The pasta is homemade. The ambiance is perfect for date night or girls night out. The service is also good. The wine and cocktails are incredible.

This is a cute spot on a corner with mostly pasta options. I got the pistachio rigatoncini which was sooo good & interesting! It was a mixture of a creamy pistachio sauce with fresh pistachios, bacon & shrimp. I know it sounds weird but wow it was delicious. My friend had the calamarata pomodoro which had crab meat, tomatoes & was slightly sweet. We had a white wine and a red which paired very well with my pistachio pasta, it was delicious but I can't remember the name! The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I am pretty sure they forgot about us. We were sitting outside and waited about 60 minutes for our meal to come out which was frustrating because we were hungry!! The waiter came rushing to us and he was out of breath after us waiting about an hour. The food was pleasant but waiting that long for pasta made no sense to me.

Calamari the sauces and crispyness was soo Good!

City Winery is a great venue that showcases great talent with great staff, however, there are a few tips & tricks you must be prepared for to fully enjoy your experience. 1. Come early. Seating is somewhat first come, first serve. My most recent experience was at the sold out show for Teedra Moses. My tickets were purchased off a waitlist, therefore my original seat was at a high top located against the wall, with another couple. It was not comfortable at all. I politely asked our server for another seating option which she hesitantly obliged given our early arrival. I also purchased a bottle of wine, which our server was not aware of. Being early allowed us to place our order and hash this out without disruption to the show. 2. You will be sat with another party unless you come with a party of 4 or more. 3. I typically dine elsewhere prior to or after the show. The menu is not heavy, plus it is challenging to enjoy the show while eating. All in City Winery is spectacular for what it is. The main takeaway is to plan ahead.

The entire store and bar is very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. There's 3 floors, the bottom floor which located another bar, the main floor which is street level and has the coffee bar and merch, and the top floor which included the Arriviamo Bar. Our server was very nice but didn't catch his name. We couldn't choose which drinks to get so we settled on the espresso martini flight which includes their espresso martini, double matcha espresso margarita, and ube espresso martini. * Espresso martini: tasted good, foam was perfect sweetness, can barely taste the alcohol * Double matcha margarita: good, matcha foam was good, you can definitely taste the tequila in this but they seem to use good tequila * Ube martini: nice sweet drink, but doesn't taste like ube at all (to be expected, but the ube cold foam on their regular coffee drinks has more of a hint of ube than this drink does) * Matcha butterfly pea swirl cake: has a nice dense texture, light taste of matcha, butterfly pea cream also has a thick creamy texture and a very light taste, perfect snack for a drink with a strong taste Overall good experience, would definitely be back to try the other drinks here and downstairs.

However the drinks were made well and tasted great. Loved the ube cloud drink the most. Overall a pleasant experience but nothing that wow'd me. I'd stop by to experience it at least once.

It was a fabulous setup with beautiful strung up lights lining the ceiling. While we waited to be seated we were given glasses of sparkling white wine. Our waiter told us that the space for the JBF LTD was donated by one of the JBF board members. Very cool. Eventually, we were seated at our communal table and were given a green garden gazpacho to start. It had pickled green strawberries which were surprisingly very good. Usually you throw the green strawberries out of the bunch and only eat the red ripe ones. David Kinch opened our eyes to eating this unripened fruit and I will never look at green strawberries the same! The soup was paired with vegetable beignets and a crispy vegetable chip - both were just perfect. Our next course was my girlfriend's favorite - an abalone salad nestled on a bed of romaine lettuce coupled with grilled cucumbers and an avocado-nori sauce. I loved the avocado-nori sauce with the tender abalone. The entree came next and was a succulent porcelet with the best crispy pork skins! It was served communal style which was kind of cool. There were two cuts of meat - belly and tenderloin. My favorite part was the skins. Dessert was a lovely popover with powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and delicious. We had different wine pairings with each course and were semi-tipsy by then end of the meal. The best treat of the night was when David Kinch and John Paul Carmona came out and greeted the diners. They were both kind enough to sign my copy of the menu also. I'll be on the watch out for next years JBF pop up!

The salad was fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy; we were happy to start with something light before moving to the cheese fondue. The fondue was pure delight. Obviously at one level you can't go wrong melting a bunch of cheese together, but it was truly fantastic, better than other fondues we've had. If I would offer a mild criticism, I think the dippers aside from the bread (cooked cauliflower, cornichons, potatoes) were unexceptional - I would have liked maybe apples, raw cauliflower instead of cooked, and raw carrots or broccoli. But regardless we enjoyed every bite. For dessert we split the chocolate fondue, which was a dream. Here the dippers (bananas, strawberries, Belgian waffle bits) were perfect. I thought the waffles would be so-so but the waffles were flavorful with a perfect crunch to them. Our service was also stellar. At this kind of place one expects very good service, but my wife and I both thought that our waitress went above and beyond. Attentive without being overbearing, helpful with wine recommendations, great with a camera, and pleasant to talk to. I don't care as much about ambiance one way or the other, but it was a lovely setting, appropriate for fine dining.
