Terrible customer service. I had purchased a Groupon to Sorelle prior to the pandemic. In mid March hair salons were ordered to close and remained closed until late June. When salons reopened I called Sorelle twice to make an appointment and no one ever called me back. I followed up with an email, and still no response. I then reached out to Groupon and the customer service rep told me that Sorelle was not among the businesses who opted to extend their expiration dates. Fortunately Groupon offered me a credit which is good for a year, so I will be able to apply it to another hair salon, which hopefully will offer far better customer service. Very disappointing experience...total lack of courtesy and manners. read more

Worst facial ever. I love organic things but now I am scared of organic facials. No more home made creams will be used by me. The lady at Sorelle used some organic lemon mix to tighten up my pores. She told me that she makes it at home and the day she used it on my face, I got tingling feeling. I did not think much about it. After 5 mins I asked her to wash it off cause it was stretching my skin too much. The next day my skin was peeling off and I has to go to a walk in clinic in Hoboken close to my house. The doctor told me that I had second degree burns. I tried to talk to the lady and called her. She did not call me back or care to ask me the details. I could not walk out with that peeled face for a week. Please pay attention to what is used on your skin here. read more

Decided to try out this salon after seeing the Groupon for $29 for a deep conditioning, cut, shampoo, and blow dry/style. They were very willing to fit me in and change my appointment to a time that was more convenient for me. Points for great customer service! Franchesca did a nice job starting with my deep conditioning, then completing my cut and blow dry/style. My hair looked great when it was done and she really listened to what I wanted. The salon is very quaint (cute fireplace, sofa, and carpet) and something you'd see in upstate NY or Vermont. More of a homey feel than a fierce beauty salon, which I liked. All the girls are Italian and look to be related. They even have fresh coffee/iced coffee which was really good. Definately reccomend this salon! read more

I have been struggling for two years with my hair due to side effects of treatments for a serious illness. Having always had very long, straight hair, I not only have been coping with periods of hair loss, but also with periods where my hair grew back slowly and with waves I am struggling to style. After several very disappointing haircuts from stylists in other salons who did nothing to address my unique needs or help preserve and style what little hair I had managed to grow, my sister got me a gift certificate for Sorelle's. They managed to make time for me on a busy Saturday. I was so pleased with the results! Beatrice gave me a perfect cut and restored my confidence! She listened closely to my history and hopes, and, from my collection of photographs loosely depicting my ideas, created magic. I genuinely feel like a new person because I was treated as an individual by an obviously gifted artist. The salon facilities where overall very sanitary and clean and very serene. My blonde has never looked better. Jackie always manages to make my stubborn highlights cool instead of brassy. They also have a great collection of reasonably priced products that have helped my hair stay healthy and look great in between visits. My length and health of my hair has really improved in the year that I've been coming here. I am complimented more on my color now than any other time in my 10 years as a blonde. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, you never feel like you're being rushed and when you leave you never feel like you're being robbed. Although I was a little bit skeptical with the 'too good to be true' price, I decided to try it anyway. The atmosphere was cozy and casual at this family-run establishment with a quintessential 'Jersey' feel. My appointment was at 6 p.m. and I was promptly taken back to the washing station by my stylist, Jackie. Although she was multi-tasking between my haircut and another client's hair coloring, Jackie took the time to ask me (and most importantly LISTEN to) exactly what I wanted done. She was courteous, detail-oriented and most importantly, I love my haircut! I used Sorelle as my wedding salon and I cannot say enough good things about Sorelle. I called often with changes to our schedule, additions of people and services, and Cheryl was always friendly and accommodating. I never felt like I was being a burden with my frequent calls. Amy and Kelly were fantastic during my trial. They listened to what I had to say and gave their professional opinions on what would work best. The result was gorgeous and I left the trial confident in how I looked. (I was even complimented by a woman on the street!) Wedding day was perfect. We (me and my 3 bridesmaids) arrived at 7:15am. Amy had put on fun love songs for us to listen to and we helped ourselves to coffee while waiting for my brother-in-law to arrive with the bagels. My mother and mother-in-law arrived later for their hair and makeup and Amy and Kelly (and Dawn) made us all look incredible. All of our hair and makeup stayed put for the entire day! Nothing was loose, even with all the dancing. Even better, the makeup came off at the end of the night with little effort (and it looked great all day). Beatrice was my hair stylist, she did a good job on the hair cut and partial highlights. However, Saturdays are very crowded. The girl who shampoos your hair and gives you coffee was way too over worked, She was not getting breaks and my scalp did hurt when she was applying the toner, maybe it's her nails, not sure and the water was too hot! They should atleast have 2 helping girls, so that the work is divided and no one is over worked. read more

I went to Sorelle for 2 reasons: My hair was a wreck from store bought color and this summer's heat and humidity, and my son is getting married in 2 months and I wanted a new look. The organic hair color seemed like it would be a better choice than what I've been using. I was not disappointed in any way, in fact my expectations were exceeded. My stylist Francesca customized my color and it came out beautiful. There's no drip, burning or chemical smell with the organic color. She cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. Everyone in the salon is very friendly and very professional. The coffee and conversation made the time waiting for my color to set go really fast. My 25 year old daughter was with me and even though she was just waiting for me and not getting anything done herself she had fun, too. I didn't have a Groupon but there's a 20% off coupon for new customers on the salon's website. I will definitely be going back. read more

All I can say is that I am really disappointed by my last haircut that I received from sorelle salon. I bought a groupon deal back in septemeber and booked my haircut appointment with Jackie. My hair was a wreck from my last haircut a few months prior to my appointment from a different nearby salon, and Jackie reassured me that she can fix my hair by doing a short to long angular bob. After she finished with my haircut I was pleased with the results and came back again after a few months to have another haircut, this time evening out my layered bob and making it all one length. Once Jackie finished cutting and styling my hair, the style looked great at that given moment; however, a few days after I washed my hair and styled it out my hair with a flat iron I noticed that she did not cut my hair correctly at all. The left side of my haircut looked perfect whereas the hair on the right side of my face was cut all wrong was completely uneven, and fell extremely short from the front and gradually became a lot long from the back. When having a short bob that is up to your chin every little mistake is noticeable, and immediately called the salon back to book another appointment with Jackie to fix this haircut. When I got there, I barely got a hello from the staff in the salon and when Jackie finally arrived she cut my hair shorter and gave me a "boxed" square shape bob look. The haircut looked hideous and honestly was completely disappointed by the fact that I had to pay 50 dollars for a haircut that I hated, and had to even more money to go to another salon to fix this mistake because honestly I did not want to go back and leave the salon with a shaved look, when she chopped off so much already and yet was still able to mess up my hair. Never going back and definitely not worth the money to not be able to get a decent haircut or attitude from the staff members in this salon!!! read more
