At the beginning she asked if I wanted lashes, and I agreed. Towards the end of my appointment, she handed me the mirror to check on my makeup. I pointed out a few things, which she fixed and at that point, I was happy. When I went to pay, my artist mentioned to the person at the desk the lashes. And when they stated the price, it was $20 higher than I was originally anticipating per the pricing online. They asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes to check it but they only handed me the credit card slip. I asked for the itemized receipt and the lashes were an extra $20. At no point did the makeup artist mention the up charge and I was a little taken aback. A friend of mine came in after and I mentioned the lashes to her and she opted out of them. I was frustrated as I literally had lashes in my purse while sitting in the makeup chair. I wish I had the option to pay the extra fee instead of not being warned. I mentioned I didn't get my makeup done often so this wasn't something I was expecting and it wasn't listed on their website that lashes were extra when booking. I was really disappointed as I felt like it was done secretive instead of being open with clients.

I had called a few other salons in the area for an appt first and their manner on the phone was rude, layers wasnt. They were kind and accommodating. Every time I went to layers salon, I felt like I was visiting friends. I even brought my toddler with me a few times and even though he was a little rambunctious, everyone welcomed him with open arms. When I first started getting my hair done at Layers, I had a bob, then eventually decided on a pixie cut. My desires for my hair were always heard and cuts executed amazingly. Disputed the charge with my bank which is now an unnecessary long process because this place couldn't take 5 minutes to make it right.

I Went there for a dry hair style (curls) for an occasion where we were taking pictures. I have A LOT A LOT of hair. Like every hair stylist/ hair cutter has commented on how much hair and volume I have. Not more than 45 min after my appointment I left looking greasy (it's very hard for that to even happen to me, but I guess the products they use look greasy) And my curls were gone, my hair looked stringy and flat. Not sure what tools they use but they aren't professional I couldn't even believe how flat and gross it looked (it looked dirty). I was there for an hour and a half, and mind you I went in with dry hair not wet. I had to completely start over to fix it. I called them back 3 days ago. The manager there, Karina felt that I wasn't worth her time to get back to me. She left me an initial voicemail and told me she was free to talk to me all day Friday and every time I called the front desk girls would say oh she'll call you at this time and then she never would. I also asked for them to get her so that we could speak for 1-2 minutes. She refused because she was "too busy." I finally got a call back from a manager at another location From Eileen. I asked them for a refund since what they did to my hair was atrocious. They keep giving me the run around and even asked me to come back another time ( NO THANK YOU! ). Has anyone else had an experience like this there? I just can't believe how disrespectful they are there and also how awful my hair looked. Spread the word so this doesn't happen to you. I even went to look at reviews and I'm not the only one this had happened to. Looked like 10 other women had just around the same experience as mine. With how expensive things are these days I feel that it's unacceptable. Also kindness go ways further than rudeness. Eileen called me back with a very fake nice persona telling me that I won't be getting a refund and that I can come in and they will do my hair again. HA! no thanks! To be clear, the hairdresser has to be careful to shape the flat iron right or the bangs and sides just hang like wet noodles. Emily did my bangs and crown perfectly so that it is flat but has lift and isn't straight but flat. Listen IYKYK. And if you do, you know then this is BIG! My appointment was for 1030. They just said they'd be with me in a few moments. I didn't even know who I was supposed to be with. No one came over and said anything a girl came in after me and sat down after waiting 20 minutes both the girl that came in after me and myself were told to head to the back to get shampooed so of course they were shampooing the girl that came in after me first that right there pissed me off. And then I was told that my hairdresser had broken her blow dryer and she had to leave to go get a different one which is fine, but someone should've told me that instead of just letting me sit there waiting.. The hairdresser came over to shampoo me I will say she gave an excellent shampoo. I actually almost relaxed. She was very sweet and she apologized. She asked what type of a blowout I would like and I said something with volume and curls. So I just wanna start by saying I didn't have my glasses on and when she finished doing my hair, I was like oh wow, I really like it. It looks nice. I left and came home now. Keep in mind I had to put in the other half of the money for the blowout for 50 bucks for a blow dry is absolutely insane but I had the 25 so with the tip I spent another $35. I literally walked in my house and my boyfriend was like I thought you were getting your hair done. I went into the bathroom and I saw what he was talking about. The top of my head was completely frizzy the back of my hair. The curls are already completely out. We have to be somewhere at 4 o'clock and I'm sitting here rushing to redo my hair. I got the vibe that the girl who was helping me was newer, which is fine but if someone is newer, then you shouldn't be charging 50 bucks for a blowout that doesn't even last. I'm so disappointed. When I was at the shampoo sink I'm not even sure conditioner was used in my hair. No check of water temp. The quickest most unrelaxing shampoo I've ever received. No product was used in my hair before drying. No heat protectant, no frizz product, etc. it was a rough blow dry. Followed by a curling iron that I thought for sure would burn me. My stylist cracked her gum in my ears the entire time. Uttered not one word to me besides at the shampoo bowl where she told me if I powered in my eyebrows everyday that was going to ruin them? Did not walk me up to check me out. No goodbye, etc. As someone who is new to the area and gets weekly blow outs this is the worst I've ever received. I am still absolutely shocked that no heat protectant was used in my hair. Meanwhile the hot tools were cranked up. The worst customer service/blow out I've ever received.
