I got Keratin done by Emily because Vinny my usual wasn't available, and I am soooo pleased with the job she did on it!!! She flat ironed it so well. To be clear, the hairdresser has to be careful to shape the flat iron right or the bangs and sides just hang like wet noodles. Emily did my bangs and crown perfectly so that it is flat but has lift and isn't straight but flat. Listen IYKYK. And if you do, you know then this is BIG! I made an appointment for all three of us the day before the event (last minute decision) and we were accommodated quickly. Everyone was good and nice when we were there. The stylists were considerate of the timing of our event and styled it a bit tighter, knowing our really fine hair would likely start to loosen up as the day and night went on. We are very happy with how it turned out. My mom got an updo. Her hair was first curled and then styled up. The stylist was flexible to incorporate a hair pin that my mom brought with her to match her dress. It looked great! At the end, they even brought us to our car with an umbrella since it was raining, which was a considerate touch. It is an affordable place compared to other places I've gotten my hair done. Other places have charged me separately for the blow dry and then curling my hair, so this was all in one reasonable price. They also accept Venmo or cash for tips, which is great for someone like me, who forgets to go get cash. Ultimately, your hair will look amazing and it won't hurt your wallet!

At the beginning she asked if I wanted lashes, and I agreed. Towards the end of my appointment, she handed me the mirror to check on my makeup. I pointed out a few things, which she fixed and at that point, I was happy. When I went to pay, my artist mentioned to the person at the desk the lashes. And when they stated the price, it was $20 higher than I was originally anticipating per the pricing online. They asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes to check it but they only handed me the credit card slip. I asked for the itemized receipt and the lashes were an extra $20. At no point did the makeup artist mention the up charge and I was a little taken aback. A friend of mine came in after and I mentioned the lashes to her and she opted out of them. I was frustrated as I literally had lashes in my purse while sitting in the makeup chair. I wish I had the option to pay the extra fee instead of not being warned. I mentioned I didn't get my makeup done often so this wasn't something I was expecting and it wasn't listed on their website that lashes were extra when booking. I was really disappointed as I felt like it was done secretive instead of being open with clients.

I had seen a…read moreblogger I follow have it done, and thought it was a great alternative to getting false lashes as I didn't want to ruin my natural lashes. Lo and behold, I stumbled upon The Glam Bar. It is located within Luxe Salon and Spa. The building is easy to find and they have their own parking lot. I called to make an appointment for the eyelash tinting, which was super easy. But keep in mind that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the reception desk and introduced to the Master Esthetician, Enza, who would be assisting me. Enza made me feel at ease right away, with her friendly demeanor and answering all of my questions. To my good fortune, they also offer brow tinting, (something else I've been wanting to try) and both services go hand in hand quite well. Enza showed me to a private room where I laid face up on a table. She then applied hydrating under eye patches. These served a dual purpose, to teat my under eyes and to protect my skin of the tint application. The tint application was easy as you just close your eyes (and keep them closed) while she paints it onto your lashes. Keeping your eyes closed and letting the tint sit, she then applies a tint to match your hair to your bows. You may feel a slight stinging sensation on your eyelids, but nothing unbearable. Enza then carefully cleansed my brows and eye lashes. I had planned on running errands right after, but nixed that idea because just like hair dye, some of the tint remains on your skin till your next face wash. I did try using some micellar cleansing water on a q-tip which helped a little. It's been a few days now, and I am very happy with the results! Getting both the eyelash and brow tinting done together also saved me a few bucks! ($30 each separately, $55 together) I am looking forward to returning to try their other services such as the hydra facial with celluma therapy at their Medi Skin Spa!

I had called a few other salons in the area for an appt first and their manner on the phone was rude, layers wasnt. They were kind and accommodating. Every time I went to layers salon, I felt like I was visiting friends. I even brought my toddler with me a few times and even though he was a little rambunctious, everyone welcomed him with open arms. When I first started getting my hair done at Layers, I had a bob, then eventually decided on a pixie cut. My desires for my hair were always heard and cuts executed amazingly.
