My experience at Bliss Salon was very disappointing. I showed my stylist what I wanted and she did not do what I wanted. I left the salon after 4 hours and I looked pretty crazy. My blowout was extremely unflattering but I have a lot of hair and it's thick so I've never been able to have a stylist make my hair look good. Regardless, I asked for a trim and when I went home I noticed how botched that was. I had to redo my haircut and style it better. However, the color was not what I wanted. My roots were so many different colors, I was embarrassed to go outside. I called the salon to let them know I was unhappy with the way my hair came out and I was told the earliest I can be seen is Saturday, my appointment was on a Wednesday. Apparently my stylist had her son's game thursday and Friday she had a bridal party to do. I asked if I could get another stylist and I was told no. I tried to ask for different times but nothing worked for the stylist.. at that point I felt the energy from the receptionist. She was acting like I was bothering her and treating me like "take it or leave it". So finally I decided to take the Saturday appointment. I had gotten a root smudge which is what i ORIGINALLY wanted. And guess what, they made me pay for it!! The owner said "we didn't charge you for a root smudge but you got one today so we have to charge you." I left there with just a small part of my hair dried to see how the color looked. But the rest of my hair was wet. The only person that seemed somewhat apologetic was my stylist. She admitted she left early the first time so she didn't get a chance to see the final result of my hair. So I left with wet hair, paid for the root smudge and I left feeling so regretful I ever stepped foot in that salon. They clearly only care about money and I will absolutely NEVER step foot back in there ever again. read more

The salon mistakingly dyed my hair a tomato red color. The stylist admitted that she was not familiar with the new toner line that the salon was having them use and as a result would never use it again on another customer after seeing what it did to my hair. I went back to have the stylist correct my hair and she was unable to and suggested I just keep washing my hair over the coming weeks for it to soften in color. The manager and owner refused to return my calls to refund me for their error. It cost me nearly $500 to correct the damage their salon did on my hair. read more

Amazing! My daughter's wedding was 3/27/22 at Pleasantdale Chateau and Lia and Arielle and Gina and Sarah and Joya did an amazing job with hair and makeup for the entire large bridal party. We can't thank them enough! They were all ready and set up at 8:30 in the morning and they kept working until 2pm to get everyone's hair and makeup done beautifully. When I got there the little one wasn't too happy so they let me use their downstairs area to calm her down, and then they cut my hair while I was holding the baby. I booked a single process color ($65) for my first visit to this salon. Instead, the stylist dyed the top half of my hair and wanted to use glaze (+ $35) on the rest. Someone else did my glaze. After I came back to the stylist's chair, the stylist said she'd "put in product and send me on my way." My dark hair was wet. I asked if she was going to dry it to check the color, and she said that cost extra. So I paid (+ $50) extra to have someone else blow dry my hair because I wanted the stylist to check the color. read more

This Yelp review is long over due!* Bilss salon is really nice, cute decor, and friendly atmosphere. My Stylist Jackie is so Talented and sweet! I have been seeing her for the past five years and go to her for everything ( mostly hair color.) I get tons of compliments on my hair all the time! My hair is naturally dark brown (you could never tell!), and she made my recent color a beautiful Natural like - Kate Hudson blonde! She is always honest, and I feel like she really cares about the integrity of my hair. I get my color done and this technique of highlights called Balayage (if you have never tried it its a must!) She calls it "hair painting". It really gives me more natural looking results because she paints the highlights on, and scatters them throughout my hair in a more sunkissed and haphazard pattern.... I stopped in here on a total whim to find out about wedding day hair and makeup. So glad I did!! I had just come from a very rushed, rude "meeting" from Elysium down the street and felt very defeated and frustrated. The girls at Bliss were so warm and accommodating! Right there and then I mad an appointment for my trial which I had last night and I couldn't be happier! Gina did my hair and Justine did makeup and I couldn't have been happier. They did amazing work and the level of service was top notch. Not to mention the place itself is clean, bright and well laid out. I called last minute for a haircut and they squeezed me in for an appointment with Lauren. The receptionist could not have been nicer and more helpful being it was my first time at the salon. The salon was very nice, clean, trendy, friendly and cozy. Lauren was very professional and took a lot of time on my hair. I can be a little bit of a perfectionist but Lauren cut my hair perfectly. I looked everywhere to schedule a last minute full head of highlights and a cut. No one could fit me in. I decided to try Bliss considering it is down the street from me. I called and they told me to come on in. I was nervous considering I am a blonde and my previous salon always made my hair come out brassy. This salon went above my expectations! Pam did an amazing job! Not just with the highlights but the cut as well! The entire staff is friendly and sweet, I felt as if I knew them forever. My longtime stylist, Darlene, just joined Bliss Salon. I was desperately in need of a new hairdo, so I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon to have a partial highlight and a haircut. I made the drive up to Bliss Salon in Towaco, which is a beautiful area, so the drive was pretty pleasant. The salon itself is in a strip mall with a few cute little stores and restaurants. There is parking right in front of all the stores, but there are signs posted that say you can only park there for two hours. I didn't see it for myself, but I was told by my stylist that there is also a parking lot in the back, which is good if you know you'll be in the salon for over two hours like I usually am! When I walked into the salon, the front desk was right there and I was greeted right away. There were many stylists and salon assistants working as the salon was very busy on this Saturday afternoon. I waited in the waiting area for a few minutes, then was greeted on time by Darlene, my stylist. As always, Darlene was friendly and very enthusiastic about what I was about to have done to my hair. We decided on highlights in a lighter shade of blonde than I had and also a lighter base color to make me lighter all over. I also got a haircut, which I really needed because my hair was way too long for my liking. Darlene then gave me a really great-looking blowout, which stayed looking great for a few days after I got it done. I am (as always) very impressed with Darlene's work. My color came out perfectly and I am very happy with my new haircut as well. The color and cut are both exactly what I wanted. I really like being able to chat with Darlene while she is doing my hair because she is so friendly and genuinely cares about me as a customer. The only reason I knocked off a star (because Darlene's work deserves five stars for sure!) is because the salon does not allow you to add a tip onto the total amount if you use a credit card. I found this to be very inconvenient because I usually don't carry cash on me and did not stop at the ATM before my hair appointment. There is an ATM within walking distance (a few buildings down from the salon) but it isn't my bank, so I got charged to take out money to leave a tip. I wish this salon would let you add a tip onto the credit card payment for added convenience. I also tried to pay with my American Express card and they don't take American Express, although there were no signs posted that this was the case. As I mentioned before, Darlene's work definitely deserves five stars! She is dedicated, creative and really does amazing work. I'll definitely be back to her time and time again! read more

I can't believe no one has reviewed Bliss yet considering it's always crowded when I go there. Anyway I started getting my hair did by Gina after hearing great recommendations from several friends and coworkers. She is both talented and affordable and should be doing your hair too! All of the other stylists are very friendly and also do great work from what I have seen in my visits. Its a laid back atmosphere but still pleasant and comfortable with a cute little sitting area behind the entrance with coffee or tea options and spa facilities downstairs. They do Mani pedis as well as facials/esthetician type stuff. For my wedding Gina took care of my hair and Rose gave me a great Mani/pedi..she is also talented and affordable. I'm not sure if the policy has changed but the last time I had checked I believe she was doing mani/pedis for $25 Th-Fr- Sa which is the reverse of what many salons do but call before quoting me. The salon has good hours and is convenient located across from the Towaco train station. If you're in need of a change or just want to try someone new give Bliss Salon a chance! read more

Bliss Salon is literally 5 minutes from my house and. I read the two positive reviews on here so I decided to give it a try. I scheduled with Jackie for a hair cut and then made another appointment for color. Jackie is very nice and It seems like she knows what she is doing, although I never got my hair colored by her. The process to get my hair cut and colored was difficult. The salon called me two times to reschedule because she called out. When she finally cut my hair, it was okay but it was cut too blunt and straight on the bottom; it didn't look natural. I didn't notice until I got home, but I figured since I scheduled to get my hair colored the following week I would tell her to fix it then. The day I went to get my hair colored, they called me and left a voicemail 10 minutes before my appointment to tell me she didn't make it in today. I didn't see it so I showed up. When I showed up they told me someone else could take care of me. I can't remember her name but she was nice. I told her that Jackie was suppose to put a glaze in my hair, but I didn't want it too dar because the last place I went to turned it black. She said okay and proceeded. Long story short, my hair came out black and she told me after a couple of washes it will fade. No! When I go to a salon, I expect to walk out the color I want... Otherwise you're not a good colorist. She fat tempted to fix the bottom of my hair, but didn't really know the proper technique so needless to say it's still cut straight across. When I went to the counter they charged me for the cut as well as the glaze. I spent 15 minutes debating with the manager on how I shouldn't be charged for a cut since she didn't even cut my hair... She used thinning shears on the bottom. Plus it was to fix what Jackie did wrong. I ended up having to pay for the cut, although they gave me 20% off. When I got home, my fiancé told me that my hair is different colors in different sections. So I called them back and they told me that I have to wait for the owner to call me to see if I can't get it fixed without having to pay even though their stylist made a mistake. I have not heard back from the. After they said they would call me back. When I call they owner is never there. I will never go back here. read more

April has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 11-12 years now. She does an excellent job, everyone always loves my blonde hair and thinks I'm naturally blonde. I started doing bayalage blonde with her about 6 months ago and I love it. She gives great haircuts and blowouts, as well. I have never had anyone else there do my hair but I will say April does a wonderful job and she is super sweet and fun to talk to! read more

Wish I could give zero! I had a terrible experience. Looking at few good reviews I decided to give it a try! My girlfriend and I both got hair bangs and keratin treatment on just the bangs. I wanted to try it on my bang first before trying on my long hairs. I decided to stop by as its very close to my house, I spoke with the Laura, I think so and she seemed to be nice and very accommodating at first! She told I will get straight hairs with keratin smoothening treatment which would look very natural! And not be BOnE straight! I was so excited to try and get rid of straighteners for few weeks! However after I got the treatment costing 85$ just for the bangs my hairs were not stRaight after I washed them (after 3 days as instructed) I still ended up using straighter and blow dryer! I called them to get it fixed, I received no feedback! I went to see them in person and I saw the person who did my hairs in front of me and she neglected and went in the inner office, I told the receptionist and she said Laura is in the meeting and would call me after its more than two weeks and I have not heard back! This is so terrible service! I spent 85$ just for nothing! I would not recommend going to this person or even the this salon! Wish they had better customer service. read more

This is a lovely salon. I went here to get my makeup done for my wedding. I really appreciated the lady who did my makeup she really took her time and did an excellent job. I felt beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was that I wasn't told about an extra 50$ fee for appts on Sunday. When I made my appt they gave me a price quote but didn't tell me about the fee. From cutting my own hair to coloring my own hair - Bliss Salon (Donna) has always been up to the challenge and takes me right away. I had to write today - because I colored my hair black - and went in to have them fix - with highlights - They were shocked and didn't recognize me.
