Cioppino
Yasmine G.

We had a great experience overall! Excellent service, our waiter was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. We ordered the roasted broccoli side and Italian chopped salad as appetizers. For entrees we got the lumache, cioppino, and blue crab spaghetti. Our favorite was the lumache, super flavorful! For dessert, we got the Spumoni Semifreddo which was also delicious. Nice overall ambiance too! Would definitely recommend!!

Wild boar pappardelle special and the salmon florentine

Food was great! Service was great! Ambiance was amazing! It was busy but not so loud that I couldn't hear my own thoughts. I'll be back.

Looking for an Italian restaurant and came across Sorella's on Virginia Beach. They were very busy with over an hour wait. Luckily they had a few open seats at the pizza bar and jumped on it. The restaurant was bright, modern and clean. Service was spot on. To start off we order an eggplant dish which was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. I ordered the chicken Parmigiana super flavorful and delicious. My husband ordered fried flounder with orzo. Fish was flaky and creamy orzo and cooked to perfection. Truly enjoyed our meal.

We happened upon Sorella's on a Saturday night while trying to find dinner in Virginia Beach, which can feel like a competitive sport. First good sign? Valet parking. In that Shops area on a weekend, that alone feels like a small miracle. The restaurant was busy (always reassuring), and the ambiance is beautifully upscale without feeling stuffy. We were seated in a booth behind the bar, which ended up being a great spot. Our waiter was knowledgeable, pleasant, and confident with the menu. We started with the Italian chopped salad and the eggplant. The eggplant was absolutely delicious. The chopped salad gave me classic, old-school Italian restaurant vibes -- the kind you'd find back in New York. Nostalgic and well done. My husband ordered a version of linguine with clam sauce. He said it wasn't traditional Italian-style -- more like a creamy ramen-style broth -- but he genuinely loved it and basically slurped up every last drop (shells and all). His only complaint? It could've used more pasta. I ordered the spicy pork ragu, which was also delicious, though it had an unexpected hint of Indian-style flavor to it. Not a bad thing -- just different from what you might expect from a classic ragu. I ended with the pomegranate sorbet, and that was the perfect light finish to the meal. Prices were on par with what we expected for the setting and location. It wasn't the best Italian food I've ever had, but it was solid, enjoyable, and somewhere I'd absolutely go back to -- especially knowing parking won't stress me out next time.

Got a table easily but got busy later on. My server was soooo kind! Aperol spritz came in a huge glass I could not finish it and I also wasn't the biggest fan. The eastern shore clams were very salty and I would not get again. The PASTA man! It was a unique pasta that I haven't tasted anywhere and I would get again. Inside the pasta there was lobster, uni (sea urchin) sauce, crab, shrimp, smoked sausage, tomato, and bread crumbs. The uni enhanced the flavors well! Kind of a long wait for the food to be ready but they make the pasta from scratch so it was very fresh. Bathroom was so cute I'll insert a picture of the wallpaper

Went there for Feast of the Seven Seas. The quality was good but did not leave feeling full. Their regular menu is always really good though. Go during happy hour for $5 off of pizza and pasta. Their clams and linguine is to die for

I can't rave about this establishment enough. I have come at least seven times now and each time gets better and better. Along with the fresh and amazing food, the staff is always attentive and kind. They are knowledgeable of their menu items both regular and seasonal. I love the atmosphere. Parking is available on the side as well as valet.

This place is so cute inside . The service was excellent. The oyster sorella (Rockefeller) was delicious!!! The ravioli was ok. The Sunday special spaghetti was good. The noodles and sauce was my favorite part. We would come back here again.

Sorella's is an Italian eatery in Virginia Beach that has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. As you enter the space, there's artificial olive trees that look realistic with a contemporary rustic decor. It's not dim lighting but just enough to have a clear viewing experience My friends took me for my birthday that evening. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. He was both personable and prompt. The food was very savory. You could definitely tell the pastas were made in-house. We ordered a few dishes to share. The Peach & Porkbelly pizza had drizzle of honey with a peach jam. My only suggestion is that it needed to be more balanced. There wasn't enough peach jam and honey to elevate the savory taste. The mushroom pasta was also savory, but I'm not a big fan of dense pasta. Although I respect the freshly made noodles, it wasn't as delicious as the breaded chicken over the wide pasta. Our appetizer was Bucatini with shrimp and bacon. It was also savory and rich but I enjoyed it the most. Lastly, I liked the Spumoni dessert they made into my birthday cake but not anything special. I would give it a second chance the next time I'm in town. There's street and a parking garage. Plenty of places to dine at or shop on that strip.

This was a beautiful spot that felt really relaxing and the food was fantastic! Lots of seating indoors with an outdoor option as well and a horseshoe bar. It is a very clean place and I was impressed with how efficiently tables and the bar were cleaned and turned over without rushing anyone. We sat at a high top near the bar and admired the decor as we enjoyed the arancini to start that was light and crisp and creamy. My husband had the Gnocchi and I had the fettuccine. Both of us really enjoyed what we had and all pasta is made in house daily. The portions were generous but not overwhelming which was nice. Our server was very kind. At one point mg husband accidentally knocked off his glass and it broke. The bar back came over and said "before anything else, is everyone ok?" And then promptly cleaned it up. I thought that was so kind. So few people put people first in the little ways. We are here on vacation, but the next time we are in Virginia Beach we will be sure to stop by again!

Sorella's is a MUST in Virginia Beach! Their homemade pasta is so good! The food, service, and ambience are all top notch. The short rib pasta was so good I came back two laters to eat it again. Great spot if you are in Virginia Beach!

Had a wonderful dinner here. Modern yet casual atmosphere. Evan s service was attentive and courteous. Delicious pasta, tasty pizza especially liked the homemade pizza sauce, that shellfish chowder was the best I ever had. Good wine selection. The cocktails they had was on the sweeter side, which is I'm not a big fan of, but I'm sure many others will enjoy. Reasonably priced with good portions size. Street parking available. Definitely recommend!

If you are looking for a sign that a restaurant loves what they do- look no further than the bathroom at Sorellas! The pasta themed Wallpaper in the bathroom is pays tribute to the magic of what they do and a true testament to the craft. And believe me that dedication pays off! The in house pasta is incredible- so incredible that I'm pretty sure the lumanche is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! We hit up happy hour and tried a bunch of different dishes. The martini espresso, house made limoncello, and tiramisu were also outstanding! The staff went above and beyond to celebrate a few birthdays on the group. They even made a custom sign for us. Sorellas is a new favorite place and I'm already dreaming of my next visit!

Is the gluten free pizza crust house made or premade?

The gluten free crust is premade.

I have reservation for tomorrow and wanted to know the dress code?

It's casual. I wore jeans and was fine. Wouldn't want to wear my just off the beach clothes but it's December so you don't have to worry about that. 😀

It was pretty loud, which made it a little difficult to have a conversation at times. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, that's something to keep in mind. Otherwise, the food, cocktails, and overall atmosphere were great. Definitely a solid 4/5 and I'd come back -- especially for those cod fritters!

We lived here for two years before finally walking through the door, and that was definitely a mistake. From our very first visit, Mary and her amazing staff, Ashley and Carolyn, made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Their hospitality is truly exceptional and creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps us coming back week after week. The wine selection is outstanding, and the food is equally impressive. It has quickly become our favorite place to relax, enjoy great company, and discover new wines. We also hosted a private event here, and Mary and her team went above and beyond to make it special. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and our guests had a wonderful experience. Most recently, we returned from Tinto's wine tour in Italy, and it was beyond anything we could have imagined. The trip was beautifully organized, and we felt cared for every step of the way. It was an unforgettable experience filled with incredible wine, amazing people, and memories we'll cherish forever. Tinto is truly a special place. Whether you're looking for a great glass of wine, a delicious meal, a private event venue, or even an unforgettable travel experience, we highly recommend it. Even though the sandwich was delicious, it was not a grilled cheese so we were a bit disappointed. I was expecting a true grilled cheese with melty cheese and warm and crusty. The broth was flat and still had a wine taste to it. When I told the owner, he agreed that the wine taste was overpowering and told me they got a new chef who tried a new recipe and that they will go back to the old recipe. For entrees I got the lamb chops with risotto and she crab soup. The lamb was very tender but the flavor was lacking. It was also luke warm. The she crab soup was good but too salty. The owner also acknowledged that as well. The risotto was okay. Nothing special. My husband got the grilled bronzino and broccolini. I tried some and I liked the taste but he said it could have used more flavor. Broccolini was steamed and I wish they had grilled it instead. The bread pudding was the star of the entire meal. It was made of donuts. It was moist, sweet, and delicious. Drinks: We got a bottle of champagne and two cocktails. First, they called me prior to my reservation and asked if they could pre-chill any wine or champagne for my husband's birthday and I was very appreciative of that. When we got there, our drinks came out a little slow but our waiter comped that immediately. Throughout the night, the owner checked in on us several times and that stood out to me. Hubby and I were thrilled because one is opening near our home outside of Charlotte, NC. Make reservations! This place was packed and we quickly figured out why. Everything is so good. We didn't quite figure out the "lay of the land" but there appeared to be a designated place for tasting that was packed. We enjoyed looking at the "wine toys" while we waited for our table. There are sooooo many unique things that I can't wait to purchase from a location closer to us when it opens; traveling with glass didn't seem too smart. Our server was great and I wish I knew her name to shout her out. Ask to sample any wine you're curious about. And let me say... the sampling pours are more than just a sip. I was astonished! I chose the red flight as rendered. Everything was good. I'm not a fan of Spanish reds and should have substituted that one. Next time! They are so conscientious about food allergies and preferences that you can customize everything (except the jambalaya). I already knew before arriving (because I look at menus ahead of time) that I was getting the scallop and shrimp risotto, especially after I learned I could have it without the disgusting peas and asparagus (but with extra spinach.... I do love some veggies). It was AMAZING and will probably be the dish I always end up getting at the Indian Land, SC location when it opens. From the start, our server led with a very hard push for the wine club. I was genuinely considering joining, but the service that followed made me reconsider entirely. Throughout the meal, there were long stretches -- often 10 to 15 minutes -- where he did not check on us at all. Our reservation was for 1:15 PM, yet we were not seated until 1:30 PM, and ultimately did not leave until 3:30 PM. Unfortunately, this extended visit was not due to a leisurely dining experience, but because we were consistently waiting for our server, who appeared more focused on bussing surrounding tables than attending to ours. Empty glasses sat for 20 minutes at a time, and there was no anticipation of our needs. When I finally approached a supervisor, she apologized and offered to get refills immediately. She returned with the wrong drinks, and we did not see her again for the remainder of the meal. After it became clear that we were dissatisfied, our server seemed to withdraw even further, limiting conversation and interaction. At no point were we rude or disrespectful -- we simply wanted the level of service Cooper's Hawk is known for. It took another 20 minutes just to have our table cleared, followed by an additional 10-20 minutes before we were asked about dessert or offered the check. This was especially disappointing because some members of our party were visiting from out of town and had never experienced Cooper's Hawk before. We were celebrating a new addition to the family, and instead of enjoying the occasion, much of our time was spent waiting for basic service.
