The Sorber siblings did a great job responding to our SOS with our AC being out! Our usual go to AC girl was out of town and we had no idea what was wrong with our AC. We got booked for a diagnosis the next morning and we got to meet Curtis. He was a kind soul and a very meticulous person. He talked me through his diagnostic process and did not jump to conclusions. He pressure tested my system with nitrogen and told us the problem was the evaporative coils leaking. 2 days later, Guy gave us the estimate of coil replacement as well as whole system replacement were we to switch to something more efficient and properly sized than our current AC unit. Guy even gave me a personal call to discuss my options. Also don't forget Summer! She is the kindest and very responsive through text or by phone. I look forward to having a long term relationship with Sorber siblings looking over our system! I think the best idea when you have AC outage is to not panic. Go to Costco and get some portable/window A/C to stay cool. For $400 refundable dollars, we had 2 window ac that held us cool enough to be comfortable again. All the AC guys and gals are busy during this season and it's natural they don't get back to you within the hour or days. Think clearly and do not rush to conclusion. The Sorber siblings are trust worthy people and we would gladly call them again! I have signed up for their 2x yearly check up. No. Not a good experience. Technician visited and only temporary fixed the problem. So after few days Heating stopped another tech visited and mentioned to replace some switch which will be Warranty Replacement. Its been 6 weeks I keep calling them and no response from their servicing team. Appears one who takes the call and actual team are two different groups. So broken support system they have. Look else where for your HEAT/AC needs. Dont waste time with them like I did. read more

It seems like this company doesn't call back anymore, and now uses a separate customer service company to take phone calls for them. What is the point leaving my info 3 times if no one calls back. I called back in November 2023 to get a quote for a job/cleaning. I decided to wait a bit due to a lack of funds until April. Back then, it looked like they had just started the company, so they were nice and "starving" for new clients. I guess now, when they got busy enough, they dont care much, and possibly pick and choose what job to take, or even if a customer deserve a call back. Why do you put a nice-looking flyer at my door (again)? If you don't even call back after I left my info for service 3 times?? Hopefully someone else has a better experience. read more

When it was decided that a replacement was better way to spend the dollars, they provided 3 quotes (good, better, best) without trying to influence my decision. The installation went off on schedule, they were respectful of my property in and outside the house, and they were extremely polite. In addition, they set-up required follow-up inspections, and applied the SMUD rebate towards my final bill. It's now been 3 months since the job was completed, and I've intentionally waited to write this review to see how happy I'd be across time. The house is much better with the new system, quiet, and temps are always in sync with the settings. The multi-speed fan is must. Highly HIGHLY recommend Curtis & Guy and the entire Sorber mechanical team! Here's why: Our old HVAC system was going out on us and we wanted to replace it entirely. We interviewed almost a dozen companies in our home to find the right match (price + service + products/offer). After all, this is an expensive home maintenance project! Sorber was our last interview, and we almost canceled because we were just "over it" with all the interviews. Sorber came highly recommended by a colleague of my husband's (he works in Architecture), so we figured we'd at least hear them out. While other companies had taken up a lot of time (some over an hour!) explaining all the millions of ins & outs of products, options, and financing, etc., Guy came in, assessed our unit, and gave us simple options with quotes right on the spot. He was in & out in 15 minutes. He wasn't in a rush at all, and in fact was extremely friendly, down-to-earth, and willing to answer all of our questions. He just knew his stuff and didn't waste our time. He was able to give us a quote WELL UNDER the others' (as in, thousands less) and also replacing with the newest technology (Heat Pump) and taking advantage of the SMUD rebates. A few other companies tried to discourage us from going the Heat Pump/SMUD rebate route because it was nearing the deadline and they weren't sure if they'd be able to get it done in time. Sorber just made it happen. Needless to say, we went with them. When it came time for installation, Curtis and his team were polite, friendly and professional. They had the entire unit removed and replaced with a new one within 2 days. They also removed an old concrete pad we had in our backyard that was supporting our old unit, at no extra charge. This was hard work! They had to bring in a special tool just to get it out. Everything was cleanly and professionally done. We were initially apprehensive about doing this (big investment!), but it has been 3 months now since they've completed the work, and I'm writing this review in a blissfully cool home while it's 110 degrees outside! Our new unit is quiet and extremely efficient. I don't typically take the time to write reviews, but in this case, I wanted to make sure I did. Sorber Mechanical just completed a full HVAC replacement for us replacing our gas furnace with new heat pumps - one for downstairs and one for upstairs. We could not be happier with our overall experience. From the time that Guy came to my home to meet me to when the crew left after completing the work, the whole process was efficient and pleasant. Guy provided me with several options that are available based on what I needed, walked me through the process, explained what I can expect, and provided a fair price for the work to be done. They are also a SMUD approved contractor so I was eligible for a SMUD rebate (x2) that they applied directly to my invoice so that I did not have to deal rebates. Once I agreed with their proposal, they scheduled the work the following week. The crew that came to do the work was professional, courteous, and were always working hard through the 4 full days they were here. They protected my floors, the closet where the access was, and always cleaned up at the end of the day before they left. They were here on time at 8am and stayed until around 5pm each day. Did I mention they were always working hard when they were here? We could not be more pleased with our new system, the crew who put it in, and our overall experience with Sorber. This is a local, family owned business and it shows. Guy is involved in the community and works closely with students at Folsom HS, including coaching the golf team. I have been trying to get Sorber to come to my house (and ADU) to begin a maintenance service on my HVAC system. I started calling in July, with repeated phone calls through the beginning of November. Each time I called, I was told by sister Summer that the brothers were busy on emergencies, but I was "first on the list" to be contacted as soon as the AC emergencies were taken care of. I have yet to get a callback about beginning a maintenance plan, so today I called another company and...guess what?...they are coming out next week. When Sorber actually DO service someone's house, the Yelp reviews sound good. My experience was...no experience. I felt like I was getting punk'd. No one ever got back to me. Wow! Great company! After having a bad experience with another company a friend recommended Sorber Mechanical. The first company I went with tried to price gouge me and charge me for parts that were not needed. They tried to charge me $900.00. Then Curtis from Sorber Mechanical showed up at my house and in less than a hour found the problem and had my heater up and running. My heater was fine and only had a obstruction.
