PROS:
1. They don't speak a different language around you which is really nice, there is nothing worse then that
2. They are welcoming when you walk in, it smells nice and it's very clean
3. the chairs are very comfortable and there is a nice color selection
CONS:
1. RUDE staff that makes you feel like your annoying them by being there
2. it's all about the money there and getting you to pay. Then when you are paying they ask you to leave a tip and watch you write it in
3. don't listen to what you want and say they know how you want it....surprise it's wrong
Why the score:
2 stars which makes me sad as this was my first visit and I there is nothing better then having a good consistent nail salon place close to home.
Finally had a second to come in here, I'm a destination wedding planner so I'm on the road all the time. I made an appointment for today (Tuesday August 13th) the day before for 1130 and came in 10 mins early for my appointment. Sadly, I did not get the names of the ladies who worked with me, but for the owners sake I will try my dest to describe them.
First appointment taken at 11:45 was taken to the chair for my pedicure, this woman was great. She took attention to detail ( I have short nail beds on my feet and always get cut and bleed when they cut my large toenail). The buffing and massage was weak and short so that was a real bummer. The color job is great and she did a great job with that- the woman I had was an older woman with glasses, darker skin and slightly longer dark hair pulled up and is very sweet and greeted everyone who walked through the door.
The nail appointment was much shorter and quite frankly I am debating calling the owner and getting a credit to my credit card. I got the gel nails because I am leaving out of town tomorrow for a clients out of state wedding. I got a french and she told me I didn't have the right nails for it as is and she would have to cut them and file them. My nails were at the perfect length and I just asked for them to be filed neatly and shaped square on top. I got my nails cut and filed way below my finger pads and they are all rounded.
So nails grow back, whatever. It sucks to pay for something and have it be the exact opposite of what you asked for but it's just nails. The real part that made it suck was her attitude. She was WAY rude, mean and kept demanding I do things. She also came over to start my nails with food in her mouth, never said hello and grabbed my hands roughly and said "what do you want?"....also to add to the list
1. Yelling "put your hands here" (in the water) and then saying "give it to me" when she wanted me to hand it to her
2. She pushed my hands and arms out of the way and around instead of asking nicely or just gently moving me
3. When the pedicure part was over she just got up and walked to a table across the room and set everything up for the gel part and didn't tell me. I had to walk myself over with my bag and shoes to her table so finish my nails.
4. She kept filing and filing and I said my nails are too short now and she said she wasn't done. WHAT ELSE WAS SHE GOING TO FILE! I told her my nails were all the same length when I came in and now I have two long nails and all the rest are below my finger pad, I can see my finger pad over my fingernail.
At this point I did not really even trust her to do my french gel but whatever, asking someone else to do it wasn't going to glue my finger nails back on. I should have listened to my gut and just had her do clear but she did the white and it's awful. I asked for a thin clean line of white and even showed her a picture and she said " I know I know I know" and I got thick nails. Like the gel is bumpy. The white is thick and not even or consistent. They look like shit! If they were not gel I would have nail polish remover out right now but alas now I'm stuck with these and the only thing I can hope for is they don't chip. That would make this whole experience really worth it right?
The girl who did my nails was middle aged, married (looks like anyway) heavier, glasses, short dark hair to her chin and she keeps her nails long, especially her pinkie nail.
I would maybe give this place another chance if the owner did my nails but still... it's going to be weeks before my nails are even close to being even again and the right length.
Totally sucks after spending almost 80 bucks for a manicure and pedicure guys! read more
