I met Sophia yesterday!! Not only did they fit us in near close , but the best set of nails I've had in years !! There was even a semi nasty customer and she was handled with sensitivity and grace - I have officially found my new nail place - I've been to 4 in Columbus and this was by far the best !! My friend and I went had different techs and both sets were amazing !! Sophia also told me she has a restaurant- and if the food is anything like the nail salon - I am guessing it's amazing !!! Went here over the weekend... got a dip manicure and it turned out terrible. Dip and top coat all over my nails. Dip felt like it wasn't even cured. My friend's daughter also got a dip manicure and the tech put the dip over her skin and cuticles. Used to love this place back in the day but I'll never be back. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE! I was physically assaulted and locked in their salon for refusing to pay for my nail service after asking them time and time again to shape them correctly I came to visit my Auntie from out of state I'm Colorado. I had a family a 5 that I scheduled appts for. We were a few minutes late (5 min) so waiting a little while to be seen was not the issue. My daughter and niece got their toes painted and they could not even spare a top coat for 20 tiny toes. So let's get down to business...I asked for coffin shape ombre. I again had to wait 30 minutes after my pedicure to get my fullset done as my aunt and sister have already gotten their services provided. We get ready to pay after being there for 4 hours and I had not one ounce of energy left to keep asking them to fix my nails that are shaped like alligator claws. The kiddos were hungry and we were tired. She then proceeded to call the cops because I told her I refused to pay for MY nail services but everything else I am more than willing to. Not only were my nails terribly done but they were slandering my name to eachother because I was from COLORADO and I'm a picky white bitch. (I downloaded a translator app as I was sitting there and that is what was summed up what they said, they proceeded to sit there and talk crap about me the whole time during my services) She then grabbed her nail clippers and YANKED me by my wrist veru aggressively to pull me back to her table to "cut my nails OFF since you no want to pay". She screamed at me to CUT THEM ALL OFF. At this point I'm furious because not only was she being racist but she has now PHYSICALLY assaulted me. She then grabbed her shop keys and slammed the door in my face, locking me in her shop very aggressively. At this point were waiting for the cops, and she added my sisters eyebrow wax to the bill after letting her know it was on the house because 2 weeks ago they did her brows and she had globs on wax in her head hair! Long story SHORT I am sickened by the law enforcement in Metairie and how unsafe and unprotected I feel after them allowing her do do this being that I was obviously physically assulted and they flat out told me I need to pay for the service or its theft. & there was nothing I could do about her grabbing my arm furiously. I just wanted others to know their customer service was terrible. I agreed to pay for my other 250 dollars worth of service but not nails and I was treated like complete trash. This salon gave me the absolute worst experience I have ever had in the 17 years I've been getting my nails done. The photo below is what I asked for and the nail tech told me she could do it. At first it started fine we made small talk, there was a few corrections about the shape of the nail but nothing serious. I asked for a gel full set and a gel pedicure. I didn't watch the whole process of my nails after we chatted a bit but I was mostly reading a book. After she finished my nails I went straight into a pedicure chair and that's when I started looking at my nails. The pictures do not even show how awful they looked. All the colored French manicures looked different and very uneven and the nails themselves were very very thick and very lumpy. I then told the nail tech I really didn't like how they looked and asked if we can file down the tops of the nails. She got very defensive and told me they were thick and lumpy because I wanted gel. As if it was my fault they looked so horrible. She kept arguing with me then got very aggressive grabbing my hands and saying she'll just cut them all off. At that point I asked that she stops completely and does not touch me any longer. The lady at the pedicure station had only clipped my toenails and I told her I was sorry but I would just like to leave at this point. The nail tech then charged me $70 dollars for an incomplete full set of nails and a pedicure I did not receive because "I put my feet in the water." I asked if I could talk to the owner or anyone else and she refused stating she is the manager. I left paying $70 partially filled nails and clipped toenails. read more

This place used to be my favorite go to place to get my nails done. They have left much to be desired the last few times I've been. The last and final time I went I requested a gel French manicure. The lady who did my nails was sort of rude and did not give me a manicure but a quick gel polish change while she was on FaceTime. Really?! I don't mind a quick text here and there but a FaceTime conversation the entire time was inappropriate when with a client. At payment time I was charged for a manicure although I got a polish change she took my card and walked out the building. She didn't tell me where she was going...apparently she had to run my card elsewhere because their machine was broken. In comparison to most places gel polish lasts about two weeks. Mine lasted six days before lifting. I will not be back. I can go other places with friendly staff that can do the services I ask for. read more

I used to love Sophias, but there just going downhill. hour and half wait to get my eyebrows done, even longer for nails. The job they do is mediocre. They don't care how long you wait They try to rush me and can be rude. So sad they just don't care about the costumers anymore. Id rather pay more than settle for rudeness & poor quality. read more

I use to love this place after going every 2 weeks for 2.5 years, the service has begun to go down. My pedicures have been a half a** job not even really taking care of my feet. Its sad because I am not from New Orleans and it took me a while to find a place. Now I am in the process of finding a new spot. I don't give stars away lightly! I have been to Sophia's twice and plan to go back again and again. My first gel manicure was Disney themed and awesome! My second was neutral and both lasted for weeks. I usually do my own nails with regular polish but the gel they use is amazing. I caught a bad foot infection from this place and when I went to speak to them I was told to leave. I had to get a antibiotic shot,taking antibiotics by mouth and I have a antibiotic cream.using the same supply's on people without washing them!!!!! read more

I've always hated giving bad reviews on places but I have to now. Many times I've been to this location, it was busy. It's a nail salon! I can wait, no problem. You walk in get a quick hello from who I'm guessing is the manager then she asks what you want to get. Depending, you go pick a color out or wait if you brought your own polish. Well I did this whole process and I had a seat. There was one lady sitting next to me and two more had walked in then left because I guess they were in a hurry. No big deal. Well, the woman before me went up and I was like okay, it's my turn next so I waited for another 10 minutes. At this point I'm there for a good 25 minutes at least but it's not a big deal because I'm next right? Wrong. A lady comes in and she is worked on right away! Mind you, I was next to be worked on but I am completely overlooked. Everyone working kept doing just that and one person actually got up from working to go outside and smoke. (I'm not lying) they literally stop service to go outside to smoke for a good 5 to 8 minutes. So at this point I've been here for over half an hour at least. So I put the nail polish down on the seat beside me, stand up and walk out. BUT WAIT THERES MORE! I decide to give them another chance when they are not busy, I went in and they had 2 people there, one guy was in the break room snoring which I thought was a little funny. The other guy, Tony, proceeded to let me pick out a color and started to take off the fake nails I got. I've gotten acrylics before taken off by them but this time was different. Tears actually sprung to my eyes as this location does NOT to soak off nails. (I never knew what the big deal about that was until then) he cut my real nails that I had been growing out under that I wanted to keep off and actually lifted my real nails off as he went under. It was very very painful and I kept saying out. He said "that hurt" and laughed. I was in so much agony. And he dared the laugh. When all was said and done and he put nail polish on my actual nail part of my thumb nail was up so it was damaged! And I still had to fucking pay for that nonsense. Anyone who recommends places for nails. This is one place I think you should never go to. I left without saying thank you or anything and I've never been back since. read more
