THE YOUNGER LADY NAIL TECHNICIAN IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. She is so rude. She did my nails and they turned out a COMPLETELY different color than what was on the sample's and even one of her co workers agreed after she kept telling me it was the same color. She seemed so annoyed that she had to redo ONE of my nails and then ended up doing a horrible job afterward. And it wasn't even the color I picked again, yet I didn't want to be problematic. I went back the next day and asked if I could have them redone (which I never usually go back to complain but they were that bad) and I specifically requested not to have the same lady. Someone started doing my nails, and then the same lady came up to the guy doing mine and started speaking not English to the guy in a very rude manner. The guy then gets up and she starts doing my nails AGAIN after I just asked if she couldn't do it. The best part is she starts DRILLING my nail bed so much. #1 you're not even supposed to drill the nail bed and #2 she was going way too hard. I've worn acrylics for a while now and never have my nails actually sunken in. Now my nail beds are completely ruined and the nails won't even budge coming off when soaking in solution. Not too sure what she did to my nails but she definitely knew what she was doing. And they still made me pay another $20 I will NEVER come back and spend my money here again. And it's sad because I have been here in the past and enjoyed my experience. However, this lady has completely ruined that for me. She is so rude and needs to be fired read more

I have been a client at Luxurie Shade a few years in the past. Covid took a toll on my business, so i haven't been able to treat myself to a mani/pedi for quite some time. I chose to treat myself last week. I called to find out what the cost would be for a gel pedi-- as i know that it is sometimes an upcharge for gel on your toes. I like to be prepared financially. I was told the cost was $38 for a gel pedicure. I also asked over the phone if i needed to schedule an appointment for services. Since they didn't require an appointment, i went straight over there. A lady named Julie did my manicure and pedicure. She was not very talkative which is okay. Sometimes people just like to relax. She gave me a brief, basic pedicure then began to put the toe separators on to polish my toes. I asked her "do you all not do the scrub or lotion or any of that anymore?" She responded "i do after for you. Polish stays better if you do after." So i told her that was no problem. She polished my toes then quickly did a scrub, lotion, and a hot towel. She did not ever scrub or do literally anything to the bottom of my feet. That was disappointing because i can polish my own nails, i go for the whole service. I stand a lot for work and I'm sure i could have used some type of TLC to the bottom of my feet. Next, she does my manicure. I will say that she was quite thorough with the cuticle clippers. I'm thankful for that. She did not do the best job polishing my nails, though. Some nails look fine and some you can still see my nail through the polish and the polish looks splotchy. She also did not put cuticle oil on my cuticles or actually massage the hands/arms. She just quickly slapped some awful smelling lotion on that i immediately washed off after. Then i went up to the counter to pay and low and behold, for a simple, half ass manicure/pedicure, my total was $90. So my gel pedicure that i called to get the cost off was in fact NOT $38 -- it was $54. It's not so much the cost that's the issue, it's being given incorrect information when i called ahead of time AND receiving half ass services. It was disappointing and i will not be back. I still tipped on top of this (though it may not have been much) simply because i am in the industry and i know the work put into this, but if the service would have been better, the tip would have exceeded 20%. read more

Called to make an appointment for 12:30 since I had to be somewhere for 2pm. They took my request over the phone. I showed up at 12:25, let them know my name and appointment time. They put me in the chair, did not fill it up. I sat there for about 15 minutes, then they started the water. Sat again for another 15 minutes and no one came to my chair. They went to others that were there. What is the point of taking an appointment time if you aren't going to have someone to provide that service at that time? At 1pm, I grabbed my shoes and walked out. I've never been back and warn all of my friends. They talk you out of what you request to have done as well. Makes it easier on them of course. I've been here a few times and the services are always really good. Some have been better than others, but overall, still good. They also have a rewards program which is nice. The place itself is very clean, spacious and well ventilated. The prices are comparable to the area. I love getting a pedicure at Luxurie Shade because it includes a hot stone massage for a very relaxing experience. They also use the plastic liners in the pedicure tubs which gives me an extra sense of security when it comes to the cleanliness of the place. I've gotten the gel manicure a few times and each time the polish last 2 weeks or longer. They have water, drinks and snacks and free WiFi for customers! read more

I have been going to Luxurie Shade for years and I will NEVER go back again! The staff has changed completely over in the last six months. I went to Henry for years and loved him!! 3 weeks ago, I got my nails done and they did a terrible job. I showed the manager at the front and he just blew it off. My pedicure polish chipped off within one week, the person that was doing my pedicure and dip was not experience at all. To given them a second chance, I went to try them again today. I had three nails that still had polish on them from my last dip, and it took them 45 minutes to attempt to get them off, this is ridiculous. They had every excuse in the book of how they tried different ways to remove the polish and it's normal to take this long.... I expressed my frustration nicely and I ended up telling them that I was leaving because it was taking so long. They actually charged me $12 to remove polish from three of my nails. I tried to talked with the same man at the front of the salon and he didn't care at all. The last straw was when I was trying to pay for the $12 and they were having a problems processing my card. On my side of the counter it showed that it went through. I was so frustrated after trying this three times that I said, never mind I will pay cash. He followed me out in the parking lot and took a picture of my license plate and said he was going to call the police. I said I was getting cash from my car to pay you! I am so disappointed that they would treat a customer this way. read more

I called to purchase a gift card for my mom and sisters and paid over the phone as I am working out of town - I purchased 3 pedicures and added tip which came out to $120. I was told at the time of purchase that I would receive a text confirmation. I never got it. I called back to say I never got it and was told I would get it. Still never got it, but they had my name and number and I had a screenshot of the charge hitting my account. My mom got COVID the following week so they were unable to follow up with their appointment until today. They went to pay and the cashier could not "find" my gift card. My sister asked if he could look it up by my phone number and he said he could but wasn't going to because it "takes too long". He asked how much it was for and my sister mistakenly said "$105" - he deducted $105 from her total. Just then I sent her the screenshot detailing that I was charged $120, but as she had already paid, he did nothing about it. She owed money out of pocket and I did not get my $15 back. I love this nail salon! I have been going here years and moved 25 mins or so away but still travel to come here. I have been to other salons, when I couldnt get here, and I'm always disappointed because they dont live up to this salon. Sometimes there is a wait but it's worth it to me. I've given this place 2 shots, I really wanted to like them, but they just aren't great for manicures. My pedicure was ok, but nothing exceptional. My cuticles were not pushed back or trimmed properly. I showed Kelly and she did offer to redo my manicure but I had already been there for 2 hours and had too many other things to do besides sit there for this to be corrected, she also offered to redo it later in the week but I was leaving to go out of town for a week that next morning. We had appointments for 2, but no one started our pedicures until at least 230pm. In my opinion it was pretty pointless to make an appointment. read more

MUST READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BRINGING YOUR CHILD HERE! DON"T LET JENNY TOUCH YOUR CHILD"S NAILS! I never right reviews. However, I felt the public should be aware of my experience especially if they are going to bring their child for the children's pedicure. This was my first visit at this place, and I went because they have children's pedicure chairs. I was bringing my little girl to get her nails done for the first time. This is how the visit went. - My daughter moved her toe and messed up the paint on one of her toenails. Jenny was visibly mad and was very short with my daughter. - I hadn't realized that earlierJenny had cut my daughter's cuticle, but when she was fixing the paint around the toe she put fingernail polish remover over the cut and my daughter burst into tears. I showed her the cut and told her that this is why my daughter was crying. To make it worse- she did it a second time even after I told her what happened. - there were several times whereJenny was very upset and talking very angrily to herself in another language, all while being very rough with my daughter. - I was told it would be 30 minutes, however my child had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes. Because the wait was longer than expected, I asked Jenny if she could do my daughters nails first. She said that it was her boss' policy that the woman has to get their nails done before the child. I later talked with her boss, the manager- I believe his name was Thomas- and he said that this was not the case. That she can and should have done my daughters nails first. If you are going to offer kid's pedicures, you should do just that. Jenny should not expect the child to know exactly what to do or to not move an inch. You should also be a little friendly and definitely not mean and rough - like Jenny. Because the situation kept getting worse and worse. I finally told Jenny that she was much too visibly upset to be touching my daughters nails and that I wanted her to stop. She through the towel down and stormed off. If this is something that happened to my, I would not be righting a review. But, for this to be a child's experience, that is unacceptable. read more

I read some of the reviews online and was surprised at some of the negative comments. I have been going here for almost three years so I know which of the technicians do the best work and have always been very happy with my manicure/pedicures. Let me also note that I have erosive arthritis in all the joints of my hands so having anyone work on my hands can be very painful. Julie has figured out how to do the refills and gel manicures with little to no pain. The pedicures actually help the arthritis in my feet/ankles. YES, sometimes things are slow - I plan accordingly. YES, it is fairly pricey but I know that in advance. The good work I receive is worth it! I will continue to visit. Also they do work at the cleanliness and ambiance of the shop! read more

I have never written a review on here before and feel a little bad about writing this, but oh well. I have gone here about 5 times now and only once was it a pleasant experience. Most of the workers are not that kind when cutting your cuticles and I have been cut multiple times. One worker in particular ( don't know her name) seems mad the entire time she is doing your nails. It is not a relaxing experience and my gel manicure never lasts as long as when I go to other places ( Bliss or Essential Nails). For $65 I would expect to at least feel comfortable and not like I'm an inconvenience. read more

Brand new nail salon, opened in September 2015. Spacious and airy, and very clean. Had pedicure, which was the best I've ever had and included warm stone massage! Staff are warm and welcoming, snacks (chips, nuts) and drinks (sodas, water, coconut water, juices) are complementary. Easy to connect to their WiFi using access code. Prices are competitive with area nail salons that don't seem to be as clean, plus those salons are small and smell like strong chemicals. I give this place one star just because there isn't an option to give no star at all! I walk in and no one greets me. One lady just asks what I am getting done. I just needed a pedicure. So she tells me to pick a color. Then she seats me on a pedi chair. Someone else comes and starts filling it up with luke warm water. She also did not greet me. I sat there for 40 minutes. If they knew they were busy and knew that someone was not going to be able to get to me for that long then why soak my feet that long. I put my shoes back on and left. read more

they do a good job with pedicures but be prepared to wait -- even if you make an appointment! i came on a thursday at 4 pm, was told "pick out a color and just a few minutes". 30 minutes later my feet are pruning in lukewarm water with no one even close to being available to do my pedicure. i had no appointment so even though i have never waited (that long!) to get my nails done, i understood i had just picked a busy time to come and needed an appointment in the future. fast forward 2 days, i called and made a 9:30 am appointment for a pedicure. i arrived at 9:34. it is currently 10:04 and my pedicure isn't even started! there are too many nail places -- i won't be back! read more

They are nice, but I have a huge cut in my finger and several other small ones that can't be seen just felt. My color looks thin .. you can still see my nail bed and he said it was the lotion but it still looks like that.
