Especially the younger guy who works there, he's great. I never really want just a plain nail so I ask for different designs each time I go and each time they've tried and before they continue they make sure that I'm satisfied! I've been coming here for years and I always enjoy it. Definitely not my favorite nail place. I got dip with tips and the shapes are kind of odd from some angles. But service is always great and they even give out little gifts around Christmas time. I've never seen any reviews with prices for what I got. I got dip with tips and my total was $60. They may be cheaper if you get them a little shorter. I've gotten this same thing done at another place and they lasted 8 weeks (super overgrown but they didn't chip so I couldn't bring myself to remove them). So we'll see how long these last. read more

This place gets busy quick so best to call two days ahead of apt but both times i went they were able to get me in the same day with an hour of calling i got a mani and pedi done in two hours the first time and my nails turned out great not the best pedicure I've ever had but good. My dip full set with tips lasted for two weeks before i went back and got my new set yesterday, the husband who makes the apt and the wife who did my nails are so funny and nice and it's a clean welcoming environment. read more

This place is THE BEST. They really know how to take care of their customers. I'm a regular so I might be a little biased but I look forward to my monthly mani-pedis so much. But not once in 2 years have I had a even slightly negative experience. Mimi is AWESOME. Whenever she does my gel mani, it lasts for 3-4 weeks. They are appointment only right now during COVID-19 so make sure to call ahead and book an appointment. They are really going the extra mile to make sure they meet all the COVID guidelines (taking temps, sanitizing hands, wearing gloves, customers sign a waiver and must wear masks CORRECTLY!) This is so important to me. They really do everything they can to make sure you, the customer, feel pampered. It's always super relaxing to be here. They offer soft drinks and small bottles of water complementary. They are always playing soothing music and something calm like Great British Bake Off on Netflix on the salon TV. I will not go anywhere else for my nail needs. I love them so much (the 10% teacher discount w/ ID doesn't hurt either, leaves me with extra cash for a bigger tip. They deserve it). My wife decided to take me out for a manicure and pedicure ax Lux Nails & Spa. We meet our daughter there for great service and maybe the best customer service I've had at a nail salon. This location had more then enough staff members there to ensure that as soon a customer walked in they were taken directly to a workstation. It also helps that they work mainly on appointments but will take walk-ins and will for them in between scheduled appointments. Shoo is very nicely decorated and comfortable. I really appreciated that it wasn't the normal overwhelming smell of chemicals in the air. Owner ensured that all clients were comfortable and received the services that requested. I get my nails done at Lux at least once a month and I'm OBSESSED. Lynn, the owner, is so nice and makes sure to remember all of her regulars which is a great feeling. She's got a great, diverse selection of colors. She's always playing Netflix on the tv which is nice if you aren't feeling social. But if you are, the other customers are wonderful and you're sure to have a great conversation. I get the dip powder nails and I love them. They last so long, and Lynn is always getting new colors to expand her collection. She's even receptive to suggestions from clients. Helen was my nail tech. She was quick to get started on my nails. I'm not much of a talker while getting my nails done & she didn't try to make too much conversation which I enjoyed. The Office (one of my favorite tv shows) was playing on the tv while I was getting my nails done so I just watched tv. Very cute modern salon with a bunch of gel options which I enjoyed. My only reasoning for 4 stars is my nail tech did not shape my nails like I wanted. I told her I wanted stiletto but they turned out more almond shaped. She also the paint on my nails either doesn't cover the nail evenly or over flows off the nail onto the cuticle. Paint is messed up on one nail (pictured). Not sure if I'll return. read more

Terrible experience. Had an appointment at 5:15 and I arrived 10 minutes early. Not to mention the parking is terrible. My "dip manicure" started at 5:35 and took a total of 20 minutes. There was no manicure done and extremely rushed. I left with crusty powder under my nails and dust all of my hands. Since I received no manicure, I was shocked whenever my total was $45. Extremely overpriced for the lack of customer service and relaxing experience I did not receive. I will not be returning. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

I clearly made an appointment and given a choice of appointment times to choose from; however, when I showed up at my scheduled appointment time I was told that I did not have an appointment. Strange, I thought. However, the tension was so thick when I walked through the door, it was as if I was a monster when I walked in! It was very clear to me at that moment, I didn't have the correct skin color to receive service. I was never offered another opportunity to make another appointment and I was told that they were booked completely and had no available appointments. I was also told that they have three "other" locations (urban locations) and I made my appointment at the WRONG location. While there, I verified the phone number and the location I called on Metairie Road only to be told to make an appointment at one of their other locations!!! Well, if this is not clear to you, it's certainly clear to me. Shame on you for discriminating! read more
