They didn't take the drill out or smooth it or anything just very sloppy very rough very aggressive. Because of the remodel, I was not able to get my scheduled fill for lashes I had discussed with management that when they would open that I would get my fill at a discounted rate or if needed a full set at a discounted rate. It seemed like today there was confusion and well I was given an eyelash technician. SHe was very aggressive very rough highly inappropriate she snatched the fan out of my hand after I told her that my eyes were sensitive and she responded by saying no your eyes are not sensitive She said your eyes aren't even watering. I said, excuse me, but these are my eyes and they're sensitive and she got glue in my eyes. She poked my eyes, and I had also heard her speaking about me in Vietnamese mixed with English. At this point, I was uncomfortable and asked her if she could complete it because I wanted to leave. I sat there for about an hour, listening to her talk badly about me in my face. She spoke badly about my skin. She spoke badly about my eyelashes, and she even spoke badly about my ethnicity. I expressed how uncomfortable I was an only paid because I was very upset and wanted to get out of there immediately because my eyes were in pain. I mean, they are dry. I have reached out and haven't heard anything back in response and I plan on contacting the board of cosmetology and I plan on getting a full refund but Hay if you want to go and get your nails done there is a guy and he actually repaired my nails really well in there, but everybody else is really rushed really rude. Also if you want to spend a lot of money and listen to people speak badly about you in Vietnamese because it's their establishment then go right on ahead but I'm licensed in and there's nowhere where it says you can't speak in your native tongue but why would you speak badly about paying customers? At my first appointment, we confirmed my two small tattoos directly next to one another would be classified and priced as a single "small" session at $200, and my next visit was rebooked at that same classification with the front desk while Averie was present. During my second session, the treatment went ahead as normal and Averie and I chatted throughout the treatment for ~30 minutes with no mention of any price change. Only after it was complete did the front desk tell me I'd be charged for a "medium" instead, bringing the total to $300. When I pushed back, the explanation I got from Averie felt jumbled and inconsistent. I paid the difference anyway because I'd already received the treatment and didn't feel I had a real choice. Deciding pricing after a service is done, when the client has no ability to say no, isn't something I can overlook, especially with a licensed provider where trust matters. I'm not sure if I'll be booking future sessions here. EDIT: The owner has reached out to rectify the situation, so I'll adjust the stars rating but leaving this up in case there are others who run into this same issue for transparency.

When someone is working that close to your eyes and doing something permanent- that level of attention and care matters! The studio itself is beautiful, welcoming, and clearly very professionally run. They offer a wide range of services, including microneedling, laser treatments, tattoo removal, and more, and the entire space has a polished, high-end feel without being intimidating. Angela's treatment room is lovely and comfortable, and she has a way of making the whole experience feel relaxed while still being extremely precise and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to trust her again. If you're considering permanent eyeliner and want someone who genuinely takes her time and cares about getting it right, I highly recommend Angela.

Four stars for Kimmie's patience! I visit Portland every summer for work, and was in search of a…read morelash technician while here, and came across Miss Knockout (after analyzing many Yelp reviews + noticing her experience with Asian eyes). I opted for a textured volume cat eye style, and Kimmie delivered - they initially looked amazing. Now, here is the explanation for why I have to ultimately dock two stars. While we're still ironing out lash retention issues (my right eye seems to be shedding more quickly than my left one - maybe the heat and humidity of Portland summers is the culprit?), Kimmie has been understanding and has scheduled me in for quick touch ups. I understand Kimmie has an extremely busy personal and professional life, but for me to have to take time off work to Uber to her salon is also frustrating for me as well. Even after my quick touch-up, I am still experiencing some lash shed, which should not occur so quickly. A fan even shed the same day of the touch-up which is frustrating. I've never really experienced this issue with any other lash tech, from LA to Portland. In fact, after my last touch-up just two days ago, I have already managed to collect at least eight (!) more fans that have shedded. However, I feel bad about constantly contacting the salon for the same issue. It's probably frustrating on both of our ends. I just want to note that I am a back sleeper and extremely careful about not getting my lashes wet, even when showering. So I know that my lash care is not the culprit - I suspect maybe my lashes have not been cleaned and prepped properly beforehand. After reading other reviews, it seems like there is one other general consensus - perhaps the lash glue MK uses is not of the best quality, as retention is dismal. Also, another small issue that rubbed me the wrong way is that when I called, the lady over the phone offered a 10% off promo for new customers, but when it came time to pay for my service, the 10% discount wasn't honored. I would've used that 10% discount as a cash tip towards Kimmie anyway, so I think ultimately it was a small gesture that she should have honored. Oh well. Regardless of not honoring the promo, I tipped anyway, at the end of the day. On a positive note, the MK space is very well-appointed and beautifully decorated, with snacks and drinks for waiting clients. I appreciated this little touch and level of customer service. And because Kimmie is a hardworking business owner, I hope for the sake of her business that it thrives!
