Sone Van Hoy was referred to me by a friend, who has been going to her for years. 1) the salon has been updated and looks much prettier now, than in the photos. 2) Sone is the biggest ray of sunshine I have ever met! She has been doing hair for decades and truly loves her job. She has this beautiful aura and knew with confidence, exactly what she was going to do to my hair. 3) Sone color corrected my hair and it looks AMAZING! She is also reasonably priced. I had been trying to grow my natural color out and it was a hot mess. So, she gave me highlights and left some of the natural. It looks beautiful! Unprofessional. I went into get an eye brow wax i am new to area and needed a shape, trim and had Aliana. I wasn't greeted with a hello. Just you here for eyebrow. She didn't consult like other salons do asking what you want or their suggestion. She just did straight across the bottom and waxed the top and middle. Within two minutes she turned light off. Didn't say a word and didn't even give a mirror to show her work. In fact no mirror in sight. The only other word she said outside of her "greeting" was " pay at counter". She probably is a Sweet gal and I got her on a bad day or perhaps she didnt want to work, but you should still be professional and if you are having a bad day I rather you cancel on me and take a breather. I won't be returning and would recommend to go else where. I went home and had my mom try to shape since I just wasted $30. read more

Alina does the BEST eyelash extensions. I have tried others but hands down she is the BEST. I had messed up my eyelashes (my fault). She was able to fill them and make my eyes look fantastic. Lyuda has done my lashes for about three years now. I can definitely say she is the best in the portland area. Final product, retention, the thickness of the lashes- she blows me away! Unfortunately I moved to the SuW side of town and I had to switch because the drive was too far. I knew Lyuda was amazing but since the switch it has solidified it- other lash artists are not as dependable (cancelled appointments- and anyone who has lashes and a busy schedule knows how frustrating this can be) and they charge more for a worse product! Lyuda does Russian volume and they look way better than most mega volume that other people do. I love her and can't wait to move b ack to the SE side of town to come back to her! read more

Jessica is an extremely good colorist. She is absolutely amazing at balayage. She pays attention to detail and it pays off. She can color your hair in such a way that any way you style it it will still look good - no harsh lines or sharp color change. She was very good at blending the blonde into my natural hair color. I'm not at all worried about how it will grow out. Everyone at my workplace was raving about how good my hair looked and how skilled the person was who did it, and some random person told me my hair looks like gold, so that should tell you how awesome of a job she did. If you want blonde balayage done then she is the person you need to go to. I recommended her to all my friends and coworkers because you can trust her to do an excellent job. read more

My girlfriend recommended this salon for lash extensions. Hers were so thick and dramatic the way I like mine! I decided to give her a go and omg I forreal forreal think I found my new lash lady! I got them done by Maria! She's new and very nice! Probably the most comfortable experience compared to my last time at another location . She was very gentle and I didn't feel any ripping or burning! She also made sure I was feeling okay during the 3 hours! They only do Russian lashes here which have multiple lashes on one so if you want dramatic fluffy lashes come here! I'm used to wearing very big fake strip lashes and I might have to retire those for awhile! I can't wait for my new appointment for a fill! Thank you Maria!!! read more

I've been going to Lindsey for over a year now. She is no longer there I believe. I stopped going to her just recently only because she was over charging me for my roots. I've called 4 different salons to get a quote on roots and they all quoted $65-$75. Lindsey has been charging me $100 just for root touch-up. She also adds toner to my hair every other visit to help with the warmth and to give my hair an ash look. Well my last visit in July 2020 the toner she put in my hair made my highlights dark and no longer looked ashy. When I texted her about it she said she would fix it on my next visit. She didn't fix it and she tried to charge me for it. Very disappointed and I have moved on to another salon and charges only $70 for my roots. Highly suggest to call around for different quotes to compare prices. Lindsey has been over charging me for my roots and I've been going every 3 weeks to her to do my roots. read more

I agree with Jennifer K. If I could give 0 stars I would. Shame on me for not reading reviews before scheduling a hair TRIM. Yep, I just needed a trim, not a new style. I called on Monday and left a vm msg to schedule a trim. I did not receive a call back. Hmmmm.... that should have been my red flag! Silly me, I called back on Wednesday and scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:30 with Jessica Petriyenko. Great, I'm in .... NOT. I arrived on time and was told to wait. At 1:58 Jessica finally tells me she is ready. Great, Now I'm angry. FOR PETE SAKE PEOPLE - if you know you will fall behind, call your clients. They are busy too. FYI.... I called the owner, Lyuda Vakarchuk with my disappointment. I guess she doesn't care how the Salon is treating clients, she didn't return my call either. The owner is friendly and run a professional upscale salon- I've only received lash services personally but have heard great things about the hair stylist as well :) when I can't get into my regular lash tech I always feel happy and safe trusting I can still get the best from this salon. I'm so disgusted with this salon. They'd get a big fat zero from me, if it were possible. I scheduled an appointment with Brenna for Russian Volume eyelash extensions, and when sent a text as a reminder a few days prior to the appointment, it said I didn't need to respond. Thus, I didn't. The day of the appointment, they called me to confirm. I missed the call because I was sleeping, but got the voice mail and it said to text or call if I was going to be at my appointment. Which I did. I texted promptly and said, "I'll be there." On the way to the appointment, we ran into an awful car accident on 205 and had trouble getting off the highway, but we were just seconds away. So I texted them and let them know I'd be just a few minutes late. Then thought I'd better call as well. Which I did, and was promptly told they'd cancelled my appointment altogether because I didn't confirm! They never received my text telling them I'd be there and salon policy states they have to cancel the appointment. So rather than attempt to reach out to me again when I didn't respond, they couldn't be bothered. They wasted my time and lost my business, and I'll tell anyone I encounter who wants eyelash extensions to look on Mars before I'd suggest this place. That kind of shoddy customer service is absolutely unacceptable. Though, I suppose they've done me a favor in the long run. If they treat potential clients like that, I can't imagine what happens after you actually enter the door. read more

I am scheduled for follow-up appointments and would recommend BRENNA if you are considering or new to the area. Being new to the area I asked Brenna who she would suggest for hair. She referred me to Jay Dzyk. ANOTHER fabulous experience. Jay listened to what I wanted and explained what she was doing as she foiled my hair. I have tried for over a year to get a Stylist to do my hair the way Jay did. I am so pleased and excited that Rain Salon and Lash Bar has such outstanding employees who are there for YOU! I loved my hair so much that my daughter Shannon is now driving 2 hours to have her hair cut and styled by JAY DZYK. Jess is an amazing hair stylist. I found her at Paul Mitchell a while back and instantly knew I hit the jackpot with her. When she graduated I made her promise me that she would tell me where she went and I would follow her -- that is how good she is. Clackamas is a bit of a drive for where I live, but I truly don't care when it comes to trusting someone with my hair, I know Jess is the right person for the job. Even if I don't know what I want, I just have an idea of what I want, she will take that idea and make it beautiful and know what compliments my face shape, my skin tone, style, etc. She truly has amazing talent! I once had a bad experience at another salon where my hair needed some serious saving and finally Jess told me she was in her new place so of course I wanted to get my hair fixed by her! Sitting in Jess's chair I knew I would walk out of that salon with beautiful hair again and of course she did not disappoint. Over the years, Jess has taken me from dark brunette to BLONDE and back to dark brunette and yet again back to blonde and not once has my hair been damaged by her.
