I had terrible experiences in the past with waxing, which led me to seek out threading and…read moresugaring. I moved to White Salmon, a small town in the Gorge, two years ago, and thankfully found Jen at Satori. I moved to SE PDX last month and was absolutely bombarded with options. I knew that I wanted to find somewhere close to home, but with someone who had good reviews. I was seriously hoping that my fellow Yelpers would lead me in the right direction and that I could stick with waxing. Thank goodness y'all are right, and that Amanda is amazing! She instantly put me at ease. I was so grateful because I tend to be picky about people in my life. If you are touching me on my face and other parts of my body, you better believe that we are in a legit relationship (I am so over the casual relationship that we millennials sometimes engage in), you are my medical doctor, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, medical assistant, dentist, orthodontist, dental hygienist. The only other people that can do that are those who I choose carefully and pay to wax or give me a facial because I feel comfortable and trust you. The waxing gods and goddesses must be on my side because I found someone in the Gorge and found someone here in PDX. If only dating was this easy! Amanda was great at building rapport and getting to know me. I felt comfortable chatting with her and divulging some information. She is such a sweetheart, she shared about her future plans for her business, and we totally bonded over our appreciation of good food. Ding! Amanda shared two of her favorite food carts and I feel like I just wanted to sit there and continue chatting with her. Alas, I had other places to go to, but definitely look forward to seeing her next month. I highly suggest going to Amanda for all of your waxing needs! P.S. Does anyone have any advice for a hairstylist in and around Lents, who cuts hair for less than $50?

Booked an appointment here for my very first Brazilian. I was a little nervous about the whole idea…read moreof the experience of getting waxed down there but I actually had a really great experience. Amanda made me feel super comfortable from the get go and her skills made it as painless as possible. I'm defintely hooked. I didn't experience any irritation or skin issues after at all which was another big worry going into it. So definitely try this place out if you're looking for a new waxer or are wanting to try it for the first time like me! I live in Lents so I love having a reputable local shop in the neighborhood and not having to drive to more 'hip' parts of town. Super easy to book online too!

It's usually done quickly, no trouble. I enjoy the beverage they provide and I enjoy socializing with other patrons. I often go with friends and rarely do we have a long wait, if any wait at all. I never make an appointment-I just don't have that kind of schedule and I've always been accommodated. I don't mind not having the same technician so I'm willing to be flexible for the walk-in privilege. It's by far not the cheapest place I've ever been but their fees are posted on the wall directly behind you if you are at the front counter and they have fee sheets (along with package offerings) at each station. Communicating can be a challenge, but I so admire the Vietnamese staff! They have moved to a new to them country and work hard for their money. Be patient and be prepared to explain if you want something different. I've learned about natural medicine, cooking, immigration and more from the nicest people. They are frequently quiet if you do not reach out to visit with them. I did not give them 5 stars for a couple reasons. Item number one is that they prefer cash-and since I usually do everything via Debit Card, that sometimes is a frustration because they want me to pay ATM fees so they get cash and don't have to pay credit card fees. I don't like that. I always try and remember to get the cash I need but sometimes... and item number two is their practice of always asking about waxing. I'm sure they are instructed to solicit alternate profit streams but it's every single time I'm in there and it can get tedious (especially since waxing is not an option for me!).

A Polish Change is now 17 dollars with the buffing block and nail file included. But,.... I will…read moreremain a customer. Most of the time when I arrive there is room for a walk in customer such as myself. Thank you 4 Seasons Nail & Spa.

Responding to owner: "Sorry for the experience you had with us. You can come back to our shop we…read morewill fix your nails." -- thank you, however after the witnessing the rigid and lumpy paintings on both my hands and feet, I'm afraid I lost trust in your ability to fix it. Responding to owner: "First of all you brought your own nail polish for your finger nails." -- I called in advance and asked if this was ok? And was told said Yes. All gel products should be the same regardless if I brought a polish in or not. Responding to owner: "Secondary, I think my staff, Rachel, didn't rush on your manicure at all, she did take her time to remove a builder-gel on your nails which took longer than remove shellac/gel polish. My staff didn't charge extra for builder gel removal at all." -- thank you for confirming that was Rachel. Rachel thank you kindly for your time to remove my gel builder nail. -- I wasn't aware there were additional charge for removal of gel builder nail as it did not indicate on the site or the tablet provided at check in upon checking the "gel mani/pedi" options. -- While Rachel did patiently and successfully removed the gel builder off - the process of painting my nails were rushed when her next customer came in (as shown in the photos) and it wasn't sanded down evenly leaving some nails residues painted over, specs popped at the top when I mentioned it while there. Responding to owner: "She's still working on your nails calmly even thought her next appointment already showed. A manicure over an hour was not rush at all. Gel manicure is 30 minutes, but my staff spent an hour on your manicure we have to be fair about that." -- in my experience receiving a gel mani/pedi takes roughly 45 mins each set. I was surprised it was only a 30 min booking each set. My appointment was 4pm-5pm and I was there 4-5:25pm all together. It could have been 45 mins for the gel mani. Responding to owner: "If you can make a trip back to our shop, we will make it right for you." -- I appreciate it but no thank you, I don't I feel safe after witnessing the homeless/crazy guy that was let into the shop to use the restroom compromising everyone's safety including both customers and staff. -- and I had to purchase some equipment online to fix 4 nails on my hands that were chipped off/lumpy due to it being uncured/uneven finishes. Responding to owner: "The guy did a pedicure for you today he looks young but it doesn't mean he doesn't have a license. We all work in here with a professional license.not to assess someone or something based solely on their outward appearance." --you're absolutely right, my apologies for calling the guy a "kid," -- I stated "I don't even think had license to do nails" as my nails were poorly done (shown in the photos) the white polish were the nail shops for my pedi (not my own) and if you look closely at the lumps, those were uncured as well.
