I brought my mom's 2012 Kia optima to the dealership because the AC was blowing warm air. They informed me that the compressor was bad and would need replacing. The parts and labor would come to $3000. Brought my mom's Kia to another shop to get a second opinion. They found a simple Freon leak and the system needing to be recharged with more Freon's. It's now blowing ice cold air and the compressor is testing perfectly in good condition. They charge me $200. Sons Kia in McDonough is a predatory shop that takes advantage of people who they think don't know better. I do not recommend this business. I have a warranty issue and have been trying to get it fixed for a week. Been to the dealership twice and still not repaired. After 4 hours of waiting on the second visit, we asked for a rental car or loaner vehicle. We were given a number to call for a rental car, called them and they have nothing available until 5 days from now. This isn't acceptable. The manager was consulted and was the rudest customer service representative we have ever experienced. He said there was nothing he could do and we could take the car until they got the part to fix it or they didn't have to fix it at all. Keep in mind this is a 2 year old car and it's the CV joint that's bad, so we cannot safely drive it. Before I bought this Sorento, I drove Honda's for 30 years and always had excellent service from the car and the dealership. We learn from our mistakes! I'll be visiting Honda for my next car. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. they literally sat up there and played in my face for 2-3 days straight saying they were dropping off my new car and never did. BAIT AND SWITCH. After confirming with Katelyn that a 2013 optima would be ready for me to pick up. After I drove the 50+ they tell me that the car is too damaged to sell, and try to get me to buy a 2019 optima for at least $10k more than the original car. Worst experience ever! It started out great with the salesman name Kyrie,he was Great!! There was an abrasive tall bald light-skinned black guy in the finance department that ruined my entire experience- From his aggressive handshake, to his pushy demeanor- All the way down to saying my credit score out loud in front of several people at the front entrance as I was on my way now! Keep in mind I came to the store with cash to put down and a trade-in and they couldn't get me in a vehicle in the proper price point, which I was OK with and I was going to leave- when I asked for the keys to my vehicle, this is when the customer service turns out! The lady at the customer service counter was sweet professional and fabulous.. hopefully some of that will rub off on the abrasive guy in finance! read more

I had the worst service in my entire life, rude people who treated me badly twice, terrible service, they do it halfway, I do not recommend it and I advise you to run from this place. And in relation to Kia, it has the worst technical assistance that exists, do not buy a Kia car because you will regret it read more

If I could leave zero stars I would !!! Wasted my time driving to this place only to find out the car that I intended to purchase had been sold earlier that morning. Spoke to a sales rep (Kandance) just 30 minutes before I headed to the dealership to purchase and was assured that the car was there and waiting for me only to find out that the car had already been sold. I texted her and called several times once I arrived only to get no answer. Don't waste your time with this dealership go somewhere else !!! What a let down read more

I just had a very poor experience here with Avon Ryan and co. I never felt so disrespected while undergoing a car buying purchase. I was asked how much I wanted to pay for the vehicle and the moment I revealed the amount, I was ridiculed and told that I couldn't handle buying said vehicle and should lower my standard and get a "regular" car. Wow...do yourself a favor and find a dealership that will see you as a whole person and not just $$$. Let me say this has by far been the worst experience for me from the time I walked into the door. When I first inquired about a vehicle, I spoke to Evon. I proceeded with the transaction by making a deposit on the 11th of November. I was told my car will be there on the 26th of November. When I called for documents pertaining my financing, Evon told me he was too busy in which I was redirected to Sha'gari. My vehicle got delayed to the 3rd, in which Sha'gari said he will loan me a vehicle for the inconvenience. When I picked up the vehicle I was advised to sign a rental agreement which had NO information on it. It did not state the license number, time nor date it was given to me, the mileage upon me getting it, and other vital information. When I get home, I realize the vehicle has no tags in which I ask Sha'gari where they are. He exclaims I don't need tags and will be fine without it; there's nothing he can do about the situation. Never have I heard of a situation where you will be "legally ok" to drive a vehicle with no tags in the State of GA. Time goes on and it's now the 22nd of December and my vehicle is still not here. I haven't received any emails nor texts pertaining the status so I decided to call and inquire to speak to the GM to see what's going on. To my surprise, Sha'gari comes on the phone and there is a shift in his tone when I request to speak to the GM. He says things like he's been nothing but kind to me, and he wasn't even supposed to loan me the rental vehicle. And he sent me screenshots pertaining dates of vehicles arriving (in which my vehicle isn't even listed), also stating that he wasn't supposed to share that info either. I explain to him I understand how supply chain works and how delays work, but I need to inquire about something else. He disregards my request and decides to conclude the conversation by saying he was canceling my transaction and to bring back "his" vehicle immediately. At this point I'm pissed because I have been inquiring about a PURCHASE as any BUYER would, and this is the response I'm getting. At this point I want to speak to someone with authority because I do not believe this is how professional business is to be done. Considering no associate or manager can direct me to the GM, I decided to send emails to which NONE of them were responded to. After this night, I repeatedly get calls from random numbers sending me loose threats pertaining the loaner vehicle THEY SIGNED TO ME, as well as conflicting information. Keep in mind this is a holiday weekend and I am out of town. As seen in the screenshots below, I got messages saying my transaction was cancelled, my vehicle was in route, and then available literally a few hours later, in addition to threats saying they were going to report me to the police. At this point I'm fearful of the situation because why is this escalating so high so quickly. I wanted to speak to someone of authority because of all of the conflicting and SKETCHY information. In conclusion, I walked away with no vehicle and months wasted. I am a full time worker and student so this has interfered with my day to day life TREMENDOUSLY. This entire experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here. They seem to take advantage of younger people because they feel as if we don't know the ins and outs of business. They are definitely doing unethical business and should be reported and reviewed. read more

I should have listened to myself because they completely wasted my time and I feel like they should have paid for my gas . I was told I could be help and everything was going to be fine before I even drove there. what got me upset was when I asked for information he didnt want to share it with me over the phone and I knew he wasnt a good sales person because he didnt show any effort into helping me get into another car. He did make a statement that his commission would only be 100 dollars but he knew that before I got there so that should not have been anything new. My advice to anyone who is upside down do not come here! They only care and so willing to people who have a certain credit level or putting alot down read more

This was my first time out on my own as a car buyer. This was maybe my third dealership. Long story short, as a novice I began to notice the signs too late. If I could give 0 stars I would. I waited 3 hours my initial appointment only to be told the machine they needed was not working at the moment, even though I made my appointment ONLINE, so they knew what I was coming in for. Despite being aggravated, I am patient because I understand. Plus Ebony was very pleasant! To be honest she really helped me make up my mind because I was ready to go somewhere else. When I do go back to get my car fixed, I waited an additional 5-6 hours for them to fix my car. I was updated TWICE my entire wait. I had finally had enough and went to check on my car. Where they got my keys mixed up with someone else bc they tagged our keys with the same number. So I had to literally tell the associate which keys were mine. My car was just sitting there the entire time. No one had came and checked in with me or sent me a text letting me know my car was done, I had to ask them. I will never go back and I don't advise anyone else else to go see them. This was not my first visit because I bought my car from them and I'd had my oil changed there three times prior. However, it is my last. I'll drive to Union City or anywhere else before I come back to this location. read more

Sons Kia is the worst dealership in town. They wow you with service on the front end when purchasing your vehicle however, when it is time for service, it is next to impossible to get anything done. I have a 2020 Kia Sportage that I purchased from Son's Kia. I invested in the extended warranty and have brought my vehicle in for each service required. I went in to have my vehicle serviced before traveling out of town with my family on June 18th and spent $700 on repairs. On my way back from out of town my check engine light came on. I called and spoke with Crystal (who loves to contact you over and over again for a survey about service) and she asked me to bring it in the next morning. I showed up at 7:55am on a Saturday only to spend my entire day there and shut the service department down with the workers at 4:00pm. They finally stated that I needed my fuel rotator replaced. Larry in service ordered my part and told me they would contact me when the part came in to install. A week later, as promised, they contacted me and I left the vehicle. The next day I went to pick up my car from the after hours receptionist and found that my car was blocked in and the service department was closed for the day. The service manager on duty assisted with finding the keys to the car parked next to mine to get my car out while it was blocked in by a car that was not tagged. The interior of my car smelled like a pint of oil, but I was happy to have it back. The very next day on my way home from work, less than 24 hours of having service completed, my check engine light came back on. I immediately called the dealership and asked them what was going on and when someone could look at my car. Considering I had already taken time off work for the fuel rotator to be installed, I informed them that I needed a loaner as I do not have the ability to continuously take off work for their mishaps. I was informed that a loaner was expected to come in and I would get a call back, as of last Friday. Today is June 21st. I have called the dealership everyday this week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and today asking if there was an update. I was promised call backs and have-not received any so I drove to the dealership today to speak with the service department in person. Kennedy was the person at the desk, who was completely rude and unprofessional. I asked what was going on and she told me they would have to look at the car. I told her that I would need a loaner and she said they were expecting some in but have not received any back. I asked "WHAT DAMAGED IS BEING CAUSED TO MY CAR AS I CONTINUE TO DRIVE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON" She stated "SHE DID NOT KNOW". So here I am with this vehicle, no clue as to what is going on with it and no-one to help. I have emailed the GM...no response. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!! This horrible service warrants no stars but I had to click something to get this to post. Notice this post is not anonymous as all facts are listed and the service department is aware of unfair practices. read more

Sales, pre-covid great. Post covid, trying to bounce back. Service - Pre-covid OK for warranty support. Post covid, what the hell. Phone ringing off the hook. One person running amuck trying to help everybody. Which is a joke in action. Service techs are on one side of the drive in and the service desk is on the other. Lots of paper printing, that's what the computer is for, printing pointless info. You schedule time and end up waiting for for for for paper and a moment for the service desk person to pull it all together. They want your cell number, but it goes to sales! Non-stop sales texting is automated. Non-stoping it. I finally had to change numbers just to make it stop. Even when I had it removed, 3 months later, texting came back. I feel for the service desk person. Majority of the running around is just pointless. Looks like the management like it because it looks like they are working. But really another pointless waste of time. Oh and it doesn't matter why you bring the car in, service just does what they feel like it. Don't worry they know better. You just don't know what was done until you pick the car up. read more

I had the absolute worst experience with this dealership. I sent this email : I was told on multiple occasions that my car had a remote start. I had the 2021 Kia forte GT-line and my reason for upgrading was the better sound system, heating and cooling seats, and remote start along with a few other things. I have attached a text message between Jacob and myself proving that he told me it had remote start even offering to help set it up on multiple occasions. After doing my own research I found the car didn't have the feature. I reached back out to Jacob and once called and spoke with a manager who was very rude and dismissive of my claims. Once I told Jacob he began to recant his original claim saying " I'm sorry you THOUGHT the car came with the feature". I was told by all of them on multiple occasions that it did have the feature and that it was through the UVO app. I'm frustrated that I have to go through so much to rectify the situation. All I want is my car to have all features that I was told it would have at time of purchase. Also, I was told my tags would be sent to the office and I would be able to pick them up there. After almost 2 months and never receiving a call to pick up I called the store. I was then informed they were sent to my old address 2 hours away in Grovetown, GA. I spoke with a manager and he said "the computer system changed it on its own and sent it to another address" logically that is impossible and sounds like an excuse. He went on to tell me that I need to submit a request for lost tags... that is the most inappropriate and unprofessional response to say to a valued Kia customer in my opinion. I can respect honesty. If a mistake is made, apologize and fix it. However, since that's not what happened I'm a very unhappy customer. I'm not coming out of pocket with money I don't have because of errors made by individuals at this dealership. I don't appreciate the lack of consistency and lack of positive customer service. I was then told to come to the store because my sticker window had it. After driving a hour and a half a different manager said my car had it and to pull my car in so they could set it up. He had issues and grabbed a colleague to assist that colleague said "kia didn't put the remote start feature on ANY FORTE's". Meanwhile their website shows the car has a feature. They did absolutely nothing to resolve the issues and treated me as if I was making things up. I would never recommend SONS KIA to anyone even if it was the last dealership on the earth. The staff lacks integrity and it results in some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. almost 3 months later after giving the dealership ample time to resolve the issue I reached out to Kia Corporate Consumer Affairs and within in 2 phone calls on the same day. JASON & SASHA customer service needs to be noted and recognized. SONS KIA needs a revamp and needs to pay more attention to the people they hire and ensure employees are properly changed. Sons Kia has honestly NEVER failed to impress me in the many times I have brought my 2013 Optima in to be serviced. They are always so courteous and really go above and beyond for their customers. I've been in customer support for almost 12 years, with one of the worlds leading power distribution companies, and I know a seasoned vet when I meet one and Jose IS IT! He truly represents your company in the best ways, respectful, thoughtful, knowledgeable, empathetic, I could seriously go on and on. Approximately one month ago, I brought in my Kia Soul to address an recall issue. Although, the issue was resolved ( the one I brought it in for,) there was another recall issue that I was told I needed to address. I was assured I would be called as soon as that issue was taken care (still waiting...) In the meantime, when I have called to inquire as to the status of the vehicle, I have had to wait close to 20 minutes for an answer, if they even bother to answer the phone. I am still perplexious why I could not get my vehicle back after they finished with the first recall item, seeing as I had no need to get that parts serviced as of yet. I believe that the service department is in serious need of customer service training, because I have been to some pretty bad places to get my car serviced, they never treated me with this type of lack of concern for the need for the person who owns the car. read more

You think that they would 've rotated my tires seaming it took 1.5 hrs. the find out the condenser wasn't working. They wouldn't give me a loner because I can still drive the flagship K-900 and it didn't have any safety issues since 90 to 97 degrees temperature in Atlanta, GA didn't qualify ? I made an appointment to get my oil changed where my wife and I bought our vehicle for 10am today. I arrived at 945am. When I arrived the bay where people park whom are getting services done was empty. I expected about an hour wait to get the oil changed, which in all honesty an hour to just change oil is crazy, but I digress. I am still sitting in the lobby at 1215pm. I asked 15 minutes prior to this where and how long it is going to take to get my car back. I was told and I quote," You're car is in the air now sir, shouldn't be too much longer." I have never had to wait 2 hours and counting to get a simple oil change done. Why is it just now "In the air." This is the 5th time we've come here and it's always taken at least an hour, but at this point I'll be going somewhere else to get my car serviced for anything. read more

Update 1 to 3 stars: The GM's team reached out to let me know he was only recently made aware of the behavior of his sales manager. The team said they are taking steps to address the situation, but the sales manager still works there so I think it's only fair to alert other potential buyers to my experience. ---- Went in to buy a car and when I asked the incredibly rude sales manager EJ to match what was shown on their own "Make A Deal" platform, he refused. He told me "that's not how it works" repeatedly. When I began to inquire about some of the other fees on the estimate paper that weren't on the platform (taxable fees, non taxable fees) he became irritated and incredibly condescending telling me repeatedly and forcefully "You're not listening to me, you just don't get it" and "You're treating me like a liar" in the most amount of mansplaining and guilt tripping I have ever been subjected to in my life. He pissed me off, so I told him I needed to do more research before I buy because clearly "I don't get it" and I asked for the keys for my personal vehicle to be returned so I could leave. He then said "Oh, so now you're going to walk away after the salesman spent all this time with you -- oh, I see how it is!" WOW. My husband was furious, he told me if he had been the one asking the questions that manager would have NEVER spoke to him like that. As a matter of fact, he tried to approach my husband to elicit sympathy for himself while I attempted to retrieve my keys. We are very happy with the car we bought, but I would still probably buy my next via a platform like Carvana so I don't have to face this kind of stress again. read more

Two months ago I went to my neighborhood Kia dealership to buy a new Sportage. I bought my 2020 Kia Soul from them and always took it to them for service. I would always stop by and visit with my salesman when getting service. I had foolishly thought that we were friends and that he would treat me right. WOW, was I wrong. After I got home and looked back over what had happened, I felt like I got scammed!! After I submitted the survey about my experience, I got an email from Kia Consumer Assistance. I asked them to call me, but never heard from them again. I also received a welcome letter from Mr. Redford, the General Manager, asking for a good survey. I sent him an email, but never heard another word. So, it is time for others to be aware of how a car dealership can scam you. I've created a webpage detailing my experience. http://stuffbyjohn.info/SonsKia/ I know that a lot of you will tell me how stupid I was. I did know better, but I honestly thought we had a good relationship. These are the nastiest people. I brought a Kia in 2017. They didn't give a good price. They lied and lied. I had a friend in the phone as they kept trying to get over one me. They finally got the price down some and was he was like walk out! Now! As I was leaving, the guy ran out to my car oh! This and that! My friend was like pull off and leave now! Fast forward to now, I call Kia Atlanta South who I Actually brought my car from abs who has been servicing my car for years, but they couldn't get it in. Fine! I called Sons. Oh yeah we can get it in. I had it towed there at the advice of a young lady who answers the phone. Never heard one word about my car. I called abs a lady in the service department said oh we don't know where your car is! We dint have it. At the advice my towing company, I call again because on the towing receipt it said they towed my car there. Oh I call back and the this nasty guy was like oh we don't have your car. Ok then I get s car from this Christian dude who said that just handed him the key. Oh Christian was a piece of work. He said they wouldn't look at my car because it was nasty. It wasn't the cleanest, but I had just cleaned my car out there ween before because I had been running back and forth to Macon to see about my 95 year old grandmother who had been in the hospital so yes tired I was/am not to mention I had to be out of my house and moved to another place by November 30. This dog which is the nicest thing I can think to call him tells me oh I miraculously found your car after telling me oh they towed a car, but gave us no info on it. What? Even they I called there several times and talked to the service department to find out how the process worked. He said oh your cars unhealthy and you need to come clean it out, but my grandmother whose 95 been riding in it all weekend because she finally felt like getting out. I have that much respect for my grandmother that I'm not going to be like grandma I'm not taking you anywhere, not checking on you because I need to get back to McDonough. Excuse me Christian if my car wasn't up to your standards when I was trying to get off exit 218 in pouring rain and hit my car on the curb and probably burst my radiator, but I don't know because y'all too good to look at my car. I politely contacted someone else and had my car towed. It may not look/seem like it, but I can buy a car! My credit report says excellent payment on my credit report. This is the first time in 4 years I have posted a negative review for Sons Kia. I am very disappointed in Sons Kia. I have bought 3 Kia Optima's in the last 4 years, a 2015, a 2016 and a 2017. The first two were totaled, me, not at fault, and I loved the Optima and the dealership, so I bought the 3rd Optima in May of 2017, fully loaded, with the extra $4000 warranty included, that included all electrical etc. I have maintained the car at that dealership and never had a problem. 3 weeks ago, I woke up to a dead battery. With the car completely dead, I could not enter the vehicle so I call roadside service. They came out, opened the car and jump started it. All good!! 7 days later, both on Mondays, I went out to go to work and the car was dead. Since the car was less than 2 years old, I had it towed to the dealership. They called to let me know it was only my battery, and although it was less than 2 years old, was no longer under warranty. The kicker was, they wanted $329 for a battery. I was floored. No pro rated, no nothing, just $329. I reminded them of our history, and they really didn't care. So, we called and found that same "special" battery for $207 right down the road and it has a full four year warranty. We went to pick up the car at Kia, and I nicely explained they just let a good customer walk out the door. Again, no response. So, I spend $40,000 on a car, my third car in 3 years, and you let me walk. Shame on you. I will let the same world that I had previously told how wonderful you were, know you let me walk for a battery, less than 2 years old. Thanks Mario, you're a sport!!! Shame shame shame on you! read more

Terrible service. I call the dealer in question about a truck listed online, I had every intention of going to look at this truck in particular. Whom ever I called assured me that the truck was still available and currently on the lot, so I scheduled an appointment a couple hours later. I drive through 40 min of traffic and reached the dealer. Met with a salesman in regards to the truck. He takes me through a series of questions about payment options and several trips to and from his manager's option. Finally after talking we go outside to look at the truck. He then informs me that it is no longer there and is at an auction. They wasted about 3 hours of my day with piss poor performance. If I could give it 0 stars, I certainly would. read more

Had my Kia taken to them it was starting and running but the check engine light was on and sometime while driving you would lose throttle but the engine would not shut off. The service department called me and said that the engine needed to be replaced the cost of replacing the engine was over the value of the car went to pick it up paid the charge went out and the car would not do anything the service department said the battery was bad but it was a new battery and with a jump box it wouldn't so anything and all I was told that I would have to have it towed. Also on the bill they did not have the computer read out of what codes were wrong I was told also take it to a Kia dealer because there there 3 fuel sensor and that Kia could tell what one or more need to be replaced. Went next door to Jim Ellis told them what was wrong and they took it in on trade so if you want good service go to Jim Ellis of McDonough. DO NOT USED SONS read more
