Decent gas prices and lines in Escondido. The gas station is well lit and surrounded by other gas stations. If you use cash, you can get a discount. I wished they gave a discount with debit. I'm not sure about the quality of the gas too but my car is still working so far lol read more

This gas station battles it out for the least expensive gas in the county. Easily located on Center City Parkway and Fifth avenue in Escondido, they offer a discount for cash/ debt. Sometimes the station across the street has similar prices, but don't offer the discount for debt, only cash. Keep on Yelp'n! read more

The young man working the cash register this morning was very RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. He can't say "thank you" or please or smile. I don't know what, if any, relationship he is to the owners. The owners (couple, husband and wife) are not always very nice, either. Why are people always comparing the stations to Costco. That's bs. Costco is a membership only and inconvenient. Sons definitely has the best prices for gas, bar none, for miles around. Their competitor across the street, used to be pretty competitive, but now they stay anywhere from 4-8 cents a gallon higher than Son's. read more

Was closed for some time due to underground gas leaks (recurring problem at all gas stations), but is reopened now and alternates holding the crown for lowest gas in town with C Stop across the street. Seems to have changed their name to Son's Auto Service. Great prices bring a bit of congestion at the pumps, but worth the wait. The pumps have a limit of $75.00 per fill up. With the BIDEN increase in prices I can't fill up for $75.00. Any chance you can raise the limit to $100.00? :-( Whoever Voted For Biden Owes Me Gas Money! read more

Normally, I like this gas station, the two ladies that work there are super sweet but today, at a little after 5pm, there was a guy working, I had never seen him before, and because of his attitude and how he treated on woman in need, I find it hard ever going there again. While at the gas station, there was a frantic woman trying to get someone to give her dollar bills in exchange for her jar of quarters because the cashier refused to allow her to pay for her gas with the quarters. She explained that she just escaped a domestic violence situation, and she needed gas so she could leave. I offered a $20 in exchange that much in quarters, but the cashier was still being a dick. She started counting out the quarters and I put them near the cashier. I said, in a calming tone, "This nice man is going to take these quarters because they are legal tender and he has no right to refuse them, in fact, if you wanted to pay in all pennies, he has to take them." The cashier took out a roll and told the woman that she must have them wrapped. I calmly asked, "If you had a daughter, sister or mother who needed help and was this stressed and freaked out, wouldn't you want the cashier to stop being a dick, and help them out?" He repeated..."dick?" and said that she could not pay in unwrapped quarters and the line is long and she had to leave. I said, still in my calm voice, "Yes, you are being a total dick, have a heart, the long line wouldn't be as long if you would just take her money, there are no signs that say that you don't take coins." I made sure that everyone in line knew what a jerk he was being and how, if this is how they are, I'll get my gas from their competitor. I don't know if the woman's situation was legit but she for sure looked scared and had bruises on her arms and face and did not deserve to be dismissed by the cashier and refused gas. I hope the cashier never finds himself in a crisis, where people refuse to help. If someone needs help, and you are able to do so...DO SO!! read more

This review is only for the gas station as I am not using their repair services. Son's has easily the lowest gas prices in the area and is usually a very quick in and out. The prices are lower than the beloved warehouse club in the area. You can even save more if you pay cash! read more

I accidentally posted this on the gas station one, but this is the proper place! This place is under new management, and we couldn't be happier that it is now more convenient to drop our cars off to Paul. We didn't mind bringing our cars to OB, because we love the area, but it is such a time saver for us that he is now in Esco since we are in 4s. He does wonderful work on our cars and doesn't inflate the prices. He has taken care of our Mercedes, Volvo, and Nissan. It's nice to have a mechanic that can be trusted. He knows how to provide excellent customer service as well. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! read more

Very trust worthy for Smog Checks. I was worried being a female I would be told car didn't pass so mechanical work could be recommended by them. NOT THE CASE AT ALL!! Very honest, professional and nice. A young Hispanic performed my Smog Check as soon as I drove up. And this young gentlemen was working on a car. David and everyone at Son's Auto Service are fantastic. I only wish I knew about them earlier and I would've saved a lot of money on maintenance on my Toyota. He is such an honest, good, thorough mechanic. I had been coming to his gas station for about a year since it is one of the lowest prices and all of the county and it's relatively close by but had never used his auto service. I decided to try him when my AC went out and based on past experience with other cars, I knew this could be really expensive. Long story short, it wasn't expensive at all, and my car was ready within two hours. I've already sent friends to David. Great mechanic! read more

Came here to get a smog test for my car. The mechanic that helped me was friendly and very professional. The smog test cost me 50 bucks and it only took like 20 minutes to be completed. If your looking for a Smog test station this is a great place to go. read more

I went to Hans auto service today to get gas I gave the cashier an older lady $15 in cash 10 ones and a $5 bill those were my tips from last night as I am an Uber driver . the Lady claims because I have sunglasses on that I did not give her a $5 bill I know I gave her $15 in cash because I counted it as I was walking up to her and I had a lot of ones I don't know if they take a little bit from everyone at this location but she was very rude to me I figure I'm not going to cry over $5 I'm just going to post the review because of the rudeness and the insult of her trying to say that I couldn't see with sunglasses on. read more

This review is on the propane refill only. Today I went in and Mrs. Han charged me $5.55 per gallon of Propane. That is absolutely insane. You can find it way cheaper anywhere around town. I wished I wasn't in such a hurry to get a propane fill. I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere next time. read more

Next, I brought in my car for maintenance and a list of repairs and items to check on. Let me not bore with the mundane details, just know: -they took good care of the car, addressing every item on my list. -Frank, the service manager, took the time to discuss the list of repairs with me and explained what they would do-to make sure we were on the same page with everything. He listens! In fact, when he received the list (which I'd emailed ahead of time) he immediately spotted a safety issue and reached out to me to get it addressed promptly. -they finished the work AHEAD of the promised completion time -took the trouble to score parts at a lower price than quoted (and passed on the savings!) -provided a detailed completed work order with information I about my vehicle that I found valuable. I had purchased a Groupon for a Smog Check at Super Smog Escondido. Johnson immediately greeted me…read morewhen I arrived. I was the only customer throughout my visit and did not have to wait while he immediately began the intake process and inspection. Near completion, he mentioned that it had been a little difficult to read the numbers on my catalytic converters. This was surprising because, although my vehicle is a 2000, the converters were newly installed just a few years ago. I shared that I had bought my vehicle at an auction and afterwards learned it needed all four of the converters so...spending more than the car is worth.. I had new ones installed a few years ago. I have also had my vehicle smogged after the converters were installed, years ago. After completing the inspection and passing, I provided my Groupon to another Auto Tech while Johnson moved my car out of the service bay. Johnson instructed the other Auto Tech, if I was paying cash, it would be $10 (exactly) for my "8.25" smog check certificate". (I didn't realize this discrepancy until after I had left). Right after I had paid and after he had parked my vehicle, Johnson re-approached the service desk and explained that he needed to charge me an additional $10 because there was an "aftermarket service charge." I replied that I had read some of the reviews his business has received and mentioned that, in his replies, he often states for customers to refer to the terms of the Groupon. I then explained that there is nothing in the terms and conditions on the Groupon that mentions an "aftermarket service charge." He referred me to a sign under the service desk that showed a $10 charge for aftermarket parts, then he admitted it is not included in the terms on the Groupon certificate but that he would be adding it soon. He then offered not to charge me the fee "this time" but that now I would know for next time. Two stars for the fast, friendly service; minus three stars for the round up the certificate fee and the other surprise upcharges. Ultimately, I suggest you reconsider going to Super Smog Escondido if it would make you uncomfortable to refuse to pay incorrect charges ($10 instead of the $8.25 certificate fee) and other inappropriate charges that this business will likely try to tack on. Personally, I plan to not return. There are other smog inspection places nearby that are competitively priced and don't play these haggling, bait-and-switch games.

Jonathan was my repair person for my door ding and lucky for me he came even earlier than expected because he happened to be in the area near me since I work from home this is always welcome. Jonathan did a great job giving me an overview of what was to come and it took all of 15 min for the ding in my back rear door to get repaired and I didn't even have to pull it out of my garage. Love that. I'm such a nitpicky person I notice dings and scratches on cars so this was a great way to make things look cosmetically a lot better on my car. I've got a new recommendation if anyone needs the same kind of repairs. We may go ahead and book for my husband's car soon as well.
