My first and last time visiting this location was extremely disappointing. After grabbing one lottery ticket for each different lottery category, the alleged owner stopped me before I exited and told me I had grabbed too many tickets. He demanded that I either pay for them or put them back, so I returned them and told him to "be a better person." His response was: "I already am, you're Black." That comment was deeply hurtful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be spoken to that way. I just stopped here to get gas, and I planned to pay inside, in person, with cash. Prior to paying, though, I had wanted to squeegee my front and rear windshields. While squeezing the front windshield a larger, balding, Caucasian-appearing male, wearing glasses, came outside and said in an accusatory tone, "Are you planning to get gas here, bc that's not free (the squeegee)." To which I replied in a bewildered tone, 'Yes? I WAS planning on getting gas here.' I asked him if I had done things out of order, to which he responded again, "it's just not free." This specific Chevron's complementary squeegee, by the gas pumps, is not free, yall. Don't get it twisted! SMH. To the gentleman/employee who just barked at me:, how many people come in there on a daily basis to squeegee their windshield and then don't purchase gas? Is it like a "dine and dash" sort of situation? Are people attempting to wash their cars with your squeegees? Are there a lot of people out there with malicious intent coming to use your squeegee and not reimbursing you for such? You had two, or maybe three people by the pumps. It was 11:15 AM. Was it necessary to bark at a POTENTIAL customer, because you chose to assume the worst, even at the sake of losing that customer? I WAS a repeat customer here, but there are way too many gas stations in Escondido to choose from for me to ever have to return to this location. Okay this is the final straw with this place. WHY? Because this guy that works at this location has the worst customer service ever. His name is Walid. My dear loving mom gives me gift cards to Chevron because I lost my job after almost 16 years of dedication. Hard times like everyone these days. One of my gift cards told this cashier no money on card. He even aggressively slammed the receipt on counter like I was in court. It was weird al.ost joy to him. I've been using this gas station for years, but at the pump only. Never had an issue, but realistically why would I? It's just gas, and it's chevron so it should be the go to local gas station for premium fuel. Naturally this would be the first place I thought of to fill the propane on my rv. Right? After waiting for the attendant, who by reading other people's reviews must be the owner, he took one look at my rv and said it was "too hard to fill and he wouldn't do it" I looked at the propane tank and back at him, I said "too hard?" He Then said "yes, it's too hard". Being the inquisitive fellow I am I asked " what do you mean too hard, the fitting is right there" he just repeated himself and said it was "too hard". I just said "ok" and left. Screw this jerk, work is hard sometimes but when it's your job you do it. Result: don't go here, I went to uhaul on mission and was done in 5 min total from a very nice employee who didn't hesitate at all to help me. I have had the misfortune of patronizing this station twice. Not only is it the most expensive gas for miles around, but each time the service was appallingly bad. Both times it was the same man: big guy, thick accent (Middle Eastern? Slavic?), peeved expression. I pulled up to a pump, got out and started using the squeegee to clean my very dirty windows. It was a slow day, hardly any other customers at the gas station (not surprising, actually, considering what was about to happen). I got half way through cleaning my windows when an employee walks up to me and says "Sir, the manager wants me to tell you that is for customers that get gas only. So can you please put it (squeegee) back?". I thought to myself, they assume I'm not going to get some gas, or go into their store and buy something after I'm done washing my windows? I said OK, pulled my Clorox wipe out my pocket to clean the (COVID19) germs off my hand, drove around the corner to the AMPM on Grand Ave, filled up my tank, and finished cleaning my windows with their squeegee, then cleaned my hands with their complementary hand sanitizer:) I came home and told my whole household never to go to this Chevron again, because they are cheap, insulting, have overpriced gas, and no hand sanitizer at the pumps during a COVID19 pandemic. read more

I went to go get air and water after getting gas. He said "$2". I told him "it is california law to provide free gas and water to paying customers". His response "can you read the sign?"
