We went to A&A Materials on McDowell Rd. They told us they recommend two different companies to lay the rock. We called both. Troy's Tree Service returned our call the same day, we never heard from the other company. Troy came over within a day, we had a number of things for him to do including planting bushes and trees, laying new sod, weeding some flower beds, and trimming a number of trees including entirely removing one. Since the rock we have in our yard is no longer mined, Troy suggested taking rock from the back yard and placing it in the front yard to avoid the HOA from complaining. The new rock went in the back and side yards. Troy told us to go to Wilford (sp?) Nursery and buy some plants. He would pick them up the day before he did the job. Troy did a great job putting metal dividers between the rock and the sod. It looks great. I told Troy to use us as a reference. He said he hasn't advertised in many years as he gets plenty of business by word of mouth. I believe him, he did a fantastic job!

The crew was supposed to clear the weeds but they also took lots of downed branches and actually trimmed the dead wood out of around a dozen trees! I told them I didn't need them to clear around my beehives because they're wild Africanized bees and they're not friendly and they did it anyhow. I got a warning hit when I took this photo a few minutes ago. I also forgot to tell them about a little pineapple guava tree buried in weeds. I thought they would destroy it by accident but, no. They cleared around it and even put a few pebbles around the base. Amazing. They showed up and worked hard, all day. A very polite and friendly crew. I'm very happy with their work.

We purchased a renovated older style home, and when we were going through the motions of the purchase, the first thing we knew we were going to work on was the backyard. The house still had a chain-link fence in the backyard which was along an alley, only security we had were the 14 oleanders blocking the alley from my back yard and pool. I was looking at getting a 6ft, 75LF block wall installed. For a home job like that I was reaching out to many contractors for bids. Rod by far was the most realistic priced sub contractor. I honestly feel bad for anyone who calls everyone but Rod for a bid. When I say Rod's prices are fair I mean they are FAIR. 3x, 4x, even 5x times fair, if you get my drift. Without hesitation I gave the job to Rod and his team. Then a bunch of weird stuff happened, all on my part. But the main thing Rod kept in touch every week for a month until I was ready to go. He even hung around the backyard until the inspector came. Job was done in 3 days. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm going to reach out to him again for another bigger job. Its without saying they've earned a loyal customer.
