Your appt is not with the mechanic to look at your vehicle, but with the advisor that you're scheduled with. Even then your vehicle may not get worked on just diagnosed and if they have time and the parts they will fix it. Don't get me wrong I get mechanics are busy and their time is precious and valuable but I refuse to accept that my vehicle will be looked at just before I have to pick it up. I called ahead about transmission issues on my 2017 Ford Escape and brought it to Sonora Ford the next day. I was told a test drive was done, all fluids were checked, no codes came up, and there was "nothing wrong." On my way home, the car deteriorated badly. A second opinion the same day told me not to drive it and that it needs a new transmission. To add to the frustration, my Sonora Ford oil-change sticker still showed it was overdue--despite being told fluids were checked--which makes me doubt how thorough the inspection was. In particular he has dealt perfectly with my sometimes bad attitude and always had an outcome that work well for me. The man calls me back with in minutes with answers every time. I see some negative responses and I've heard these people in the office while I'm in dropping off or picking up. The parts representative, Davin, insisted that we had to pay a $40 restocking fee to return the part. Two messages were left with the manager Kelly, and he never returned our calls. I got spark plugs redone, rear brakes, and a new left hand valve cover plus seals and oil change. They worked on my car for at most 10 hrs but cant verify based on the work order. Labor was $4,000. Lazy techs, had my truck for two days and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it after I told them a spark plug was bad, showed them a video of the issue and pictures of the P-Codes that I pulled with my code reader. They tried to return my vehicle after the first day and told me nothing was wrong. After leaving and getting on the freeway it misfired. Took it right back to them. The lead tech came out with a huge attitude like I was inconveniencing him. The next day they replaced the plug. I kissed one day of work and had to rent a truck because of their laziness. They had our car for almost 3 days to try to find out why our car locks were locking and unlocking. The first day they said they could not find a thing. The next 2 days was just JACKING ME AROUND. Took my F250 4x4 to Sonora Ford. Had $6500.00 of repairs completed. Ranging from power steering pump, hoses, clamps. Both exhaust manifolds replaced. Replaced heater assembly w/all hoses. Replaced left front lock hub assembly. Serviced fuel injection assembly. And completed various wire repairs. On my trip home the ABS light came on. Return same day. They solved the issue at no charge, since they had broken the ABS Sensor. One month later, my open door light stays on and power locks stopped working. Took truck back for a diagnostic inspection. The next day, they phoned for me to pickup the truck. Charged $175.00 and stated,"they could not find the cause of the problem." Stated," I should have them Re-wire the truck." WHAT A JOKE. I took my truck and left. I will NEVER return to Sonora Ford. Took my new Truck in for a mandatory recall. while doing the work, they scratched the front bumper and had to fix it. Thus began the nightmare: I have had at least five appointments over several months to do this simple task, and still not completed. We brought our Ford Fusion in for an airbag recall. The air condition was working perfectly prior to their service. We noticed the AC stopped working as soon as they did the recall repair. Apparently it is quite a common problem. When my husband called Sonora Ford dealership, he was told he had to make an appointment. So a week later he brought the car in and was told they would run the codes and we would be charged $175-$225. So we didn't want to pay this fee when we did not cause the problem. My husband added freon and it leaked out within a week. So obviously the dealership put a hole into our AC system. Luckily my husband is able to fix this problem. We will never use this Ford Dealership again and are very disappointed with their poor customer service. read more

The next day I get a text from Sonora ford asking me to confirm my appointment. I responded positively and related I will wait for the service. I received a response stating that i cannot do that as the only on line appointments are drop offs and there is only 4 slots for waiting for service per day. I have made appointments on line using the same website before so this was news to me. I was advised to call the service center personally if I wanted to schedule a service and wait for its completion. HOW IS THIS CONVENIENT FOR CUSTOMERS? To be fair. I was offered another appointment at a later dateand time, but it was not convenient for me. I'm 72 and I must tell you that this was by far the best car buying experience I've ever had. We were treated fairly and were surprised to learn how much was done to the car in preparation for selling such as new tires and brakes. The reality is that you never really know what your getting when you purchase a used car. Instead of just detailing the car and putting it on the lot for the highest possible profit the dealership did the right thing in making sure the vehicle was safe to operate. I can only relate my experience with the sales side of the business which was great. Joe was our salesman and he and everyone worked with me to make this a positive experience. After several visits to Sonora Ford, my bonus mom (best friend's mother) Sharon, settled on a Subaru Outback. The salesman Parker was terrific and patient in helping her explore her options. The time came for a the negotiation. Mom's son, Dan called and talked with the team at Sonora Ford and arranged the purchase. They were informed that the price quoted was out the door and that there was to be no further haggling over extra warranties or any other costs. We drove to the dealership and were met by Parker, who handed us off to the Finance Manager. From there the exceptional experience turned ugly very quickly. The first thing we heard was "this car has NO warranty" do you want to purchase the extended warranty, it will be $2600.00. We had brought a cashier check for the full amount of the purchase which had been negotiated in the call from Dan. This was exactly the scenario Dan had wanted his mom to not have to deal with. Mom was pushes into calling the bank and transferring more funds from her savings and then authorizing an increase to her debit ability so that the finance manager could charge her for the warranty. At this point I stopped the transaction until mom could speak with Dan, as it was not sitting right that she was paying cash (NOT FINANCING) for this 2018 Subaru Outback and it had no warranty of any kind. We had not been in the finance office for more than 10 minutes and the tone he used with us was unprofessional and belittling. The sales manager got involved and the information changed again. We were informed the car has a warranty. The remainder of the 7yr/100,000 mile warranty. After a heated and chaotic call with Dan and the 3 gentleman from Ford, where the sales manager proceeded to talk over the top of everyone and was more prepared to speak than listen. After the call ended and we continued forward with the paperwork a change in price was brought up. Yes, it was in Sharon's favor but when the question was asked, why the price was different, the finance manager, actually huffed and stated "I DON'T KNOW." At this point Momma Sharon was ready to walk away. The sales manager returned and moved us to a new finance manager. Richard was extremely professional. Handled all of the paperwork and questions without issue or attitude. We found the change in price was due to tags already being paid for 2022. Easily explained. The extended warranty was also brought up again but in a much more professional manner. We were even presented with 2 different options for the warranty. One with and one without a deductible. The cost would have been only $1900.00. Because of the previous discussions the warranty was turned down. However Momma Sharon stated later that evening if Richard had handled the transaction from the beginning she would have taken the warranty, but she was so over the situation she just wanted to be done. Don't bring your vehicle here!!! I brought my 2015 F-150 3.5 eco boost with 60k miles in because the turbo coolant exchange hose was leaking at both fittings. IMO This should be covered by warranty as it is a very common problem. So common in fact the $20-30 hose is on back order nationwide. Ryan in service told me it could take a month to receive because of COVID. I understood and asked for a loner vehicle. I was told, if there was one available I would have to wait at least two weeks. I checked my local non-dealer shops and was quoted $450-$600 and the job could be done in 4 days. I let Ryan know I was going to take it somewhere else. He informed me that the diagnostic fee for this and the sync software update they preformed was $125 per hour for two hours. They were going to $250 to do nothing. I had brought both issues to their attention on day one, there was very little diagnostic necessary, definitely not 2 hours! At this time Ryan informed me of the cost for the two issues above and the cost to replace two sun warped plastic pieces between my hood and windshield where the window cleaner fluid sprayers attached plus the diagnostic. The total would be $804 for everything, And the job could be completed after the back ordered hose arrived. Now I was stuck, it was going to cost me more to go to a third party. I could not be without my truck that long, so I searched the web and called the 4 closest Ford dealerships. I found the part in under one hour. I dropped my truck off on Thursday. The fallowing Friday he called and informed me everything was completed and I could pick up my truck. And that they could find nothing wrong with the transmission. As I informed them on day one the transmission issue was most notable with a tranny temp over 200 degrees or under load. He then informed me one of his managers lived some distance away, up the mountain where this issue could be identified. And ask my permission to allow them to take it overnight. I said yes, but informed him I would need my truck Monday. It is now Saturday, and I am waiting for him to call. Up to this point I have been pretty chill, but around 1pm I called to get an update. I was informed by the sales manager the service department was closed on the weekends. He also let me know my truck was in the parking lot, But my keys were nowhere in the building and that he would try to locate them and then give me a call. Wtf?? Why didn't Ryan inform me, and what was this nonsense about taking my truck overnight to diagnose the problem? I waited for the call hoping they had found my keys. As I had no idea where my backup set was. I waited about 30 minutes and then called back. I was informed they could not be found and if I wanted my truck I needed to find my backup set and to bring them down before they close at 6pm. This time I was speaking to younger asshole salesman. He was a Dick! I loaded up my family and drove 40 minutes to the dealership with my backup set of keys. After we arrived My wife headed home immediately as one of the girls was sick. When I walked In, I was Informed by another salesman they hadn't found my keys, or the service invoice and that I would not be allowed to pick up my vehicle for liability reasons. I informed him, I was leaving early Monday and needed my vehicle. I ask him to look again for my keys and to bring me the invoice. He was rude and repeatedly told me he was just the messenger and that he could not find my keys or the service invoice. He insisted without these items and my signature I would be unable to leave with my vehicle. After a few frustrating minutes he allowed me to follow him and look for myself. We both searched only to find nothing. At this point he repeated again, I would not be able to take my truck. I then demanded to speak with his supervisor. Ironically this was the first salesman I had spoken to, who located my truck in the parking lot. He was calm and reassuring. He informed me I could take vehicle. I told him that I would be back on Wednesday for my keys and to pay my bill. Before I left I inspected my truck only to find out they never replaced the warped plastic pieces When I returned on Wednesday I spoke to Ryan and he apologized for the miscommunication, but tried to charge me almost $200 more than he quoted me. I told him what I remember he had said and he adjusted the price. Also I ask him about the plastic pieces, he lied and told me they were also on back order and they were not part of the original price. He than encouraged me to drop my vehicle back off when I had time so they could diagnose the transmission issue. When I returned home I checked my notes only to find out he definitely lied and tried to hustle me. The pieces were included, He perviously told me the final bill was $804 with tax. But that day i paid $824 and he didn't replace the plastic parts he said he would. I will never go back and neither should you! read more

On Dec 10, 2020 I bought a brand new F250 pickup fron Sonora Ford in Sonora, Ca.. I did not make it home to Chico. Ca. as the motor blew up 40 miles from the dealership. CA. They refuse to take the truck back so I had it towed to Elk Grove Ford and left it there. Thecwhole motor has to becreplaced. I spoke to sales Mgr. Greg Z. and General Mgr. Kelly Robinson.
