The transmission was due for service on my 06 dodge 2500. I arrived on time for my appointment and they started working on it within 10 min. After the work was completed I was told an adjustment was also done. An inside bolt was loose and he fixed it. I asked what the bolt controls and was told 2nd gear. My truck has been lurching in 2nd gear for years. Through 3 service calls. My truck shifts great. Ill be bringing my other two vehicles here soon. read more

They charged me $720 for a tune-up and oil change that took 2 months when it turned out to be catalytic converter that they can't handle. Very disappointed with the lack of communication, lengthy time and lack of skills. Should have went to the dealer. The vehicle showed immediate signs of improper functioning and was sluggish leading to non drivable within 1 month. read more

I have been to many Mechanics over the last 20+ years after I decided to stop doing it myself. I know when I'm being lied to, and these folks are 100% honest. Not only have they saved me thousands of dollars on repairs that other businesses had quoted unbelievable prices for repairs that were not actually needed, but they are all very friendly and care about customer service. A part of business that has seemed to disappear everywhere, but is very important to me. *These guys also ate thousands of dollars to make a bad situation better for the customer (me) even though it wasn't their fault. Long story short, they put a new engine in my wife's car and had to pull it out 2 more times and replace all the components around it only to find that the new engine block they put in was faulty. Faulty from the factory. Hundreds of man hours and thousands in parts down the drain for them. As you can imagine this took time, so by the time I got the car back, the factory warranty on the engine block was almost half expired. Sonora Transmission said they will warranty it for the full original time even though the original warranty was through the manufacturer. They did this without me even having to ask! If you want quality, honesty, and customer service like the old days, this is the place. read more

Just had a major malfunction in my pick up, lost power brakes and steering and was barely able to wrestle the truck into the edge of Sonora transmission property. I went in and explained myself to one of the technicians and he told me sorry, they have too much business and are three weeks out. Turned me away. I called Steve's Automotive in neighboring Jamestown and he says bring it in right away, that is customer service. 2006 BMW X5. BMW tells me the problem is the transfer case and quotes $7,000 to fix it. I do some internet research, isolate the likely problems, buy $300 worth of parts, call Mike and bring it it. All the parts needed replacing, plus a bearing I couldn't have known about but found that and had it shipped directly. The bill was $785. Add the parts and I'm into it for $1,100 instead of the "recommended" $7,000. Just drove it home and it shifts snappy again in sport mode like brand new. Whish there was a way to give 100 stars. To say I'm happy with these guys is almost a cruel understatement. read more

While preping for a cross country trip, we took our 2002 Dodge Ram2500 in for routine service. We pulled our 5th wheel over 13,000 miles in six months. I felt confident in Mike, Ed and Freddie and all they did prior to our trip. I returned to California and took my truck in for routine maintenance after our long trip through the high desert, northern plains, the Rockies, gulf coast and the Midwest. Got my truck back in way better condition and now we're on our next adventure to Southern California and Las Vegas without a worry what so ever. I came here expecting the worst for my Dodge Caravan. Instead of selling me a whole new (rebuilt) transmission, they saved me a ton of money with a correct diagnosis of my problems. Just a part of the transmission had a problem. They also found at alternator was going out, (My battery light had been randomly coming on). I got a super fair pricing and was able to afford to get my brakes repaired. They even stayed open for 15 minutes and the whole gang made sure I was good to go, as I had traveled from out of town to here based on an auto parts store's recommendation. They also found some worn rear bearings that got replaced. I had them do an oil change also. Still spent 1/4 what I expected! It's real hard to find an honest automotive repair shop. This one does transmissions and a lot of other stuff. The staff was friendly and they were just a happy bunch. Throughout the day past customers were coming in about this or that car issues. Not one soured customer. I came in expecting to leave my car for a week. They had me out that day and the car is running great. I will be back. I found my car repair place! read more

I'm very pleased with Sonora Transmissions. I received an estimated quote to service my vehicle and I thought it was very fair compared to the other shops that I checked with. I made an appointment for 2 days after I received the quote. I dropped it off this morning and they said it would be about 1 1/2 hour to complete. I went for a walk and returned and they were wrapping it up.. They also notice that my water reservoir cap was cracked and they repaired that as well.
