They food is very delicious and affordable. It's a great small family owned restaurant. Didn't have time to take a picture but it was a great portion for 6.

On a recent trip to Sonoma, we had a hankering for some Chinese food and ordered some tasty food from Happy Garden. Lisa took care of us, and she was a delight. We enjoyed Kung Pao Combination, Chop Suey, Pot Stickers, Hot and Sour Soup, and Veggie Egg Rolls. While not very traditional, Happy Garden is one of the few Chinese restaurants that has Chop Suey and Egg Foo Young. Happy Garden is tucked away in the same shopping center at Whole Foods on W. Napa, in Sonoma. We ordered our food to-go, and it was ready on time and well packaged.

Ordered take-out and it was very good. Everything was tasty, the food was delivered hot, and was very happy with the choices.

UPDATE mid-May 2026…read more They've reopened a few days a week due to popular demand! They were focused on their catering for a bit. No hot pot until the winter. Only open on weekends. Lunch is takeout only. Yay! Their bbq pork is their specialty along with other roasted meats.

I totally was that weird kid who ate strange food growing up. I would rather eat lobster or…read moreartichokes than chicken or green beans, and given the choice I'd gladly eat my body weight in dim sum over basically any other food. That hasn't changed at all for me as an adult! In Sonoma county there was really just one place with dim sum, and lots of people wanted more options. I tried other restaurants with their dim sum adjacent menus, but they were pretty mediocre and mostly focused on fried pot stickers or the occasional steamed siu mai. Once I heard fantasy was starting a true dim sum menu, I knew we had to try it. The day we arrived I was solidly in my third trimester of pregnancy and getting around was a chore, but that wasn't going to keep me from dim sum. We were the only guests the whole time on the day we went there, which was weird to me given how good the food ended up being! Service was great, super friendly and just lovely folks. The restaurant was clean and we'll organized, and the menu was a good mix of traditional favorites and some trendy BAO for the insta. We ordered a little of everything , which to me is why dim sum is so fun. Food came out super fast, and we tucked right in. Surprisingly to me, my favorite dish is one hubs picked on a whim, the spicy won tons. The flavors and textures were on point, and even with pregnancy heartburn, the spice on these things was well worth it. Super delicious. I felt the pandan and black sesame bao were overly trendy for my taste, but I'm sure those who are new to dim sum could see these options as easy introduction into the food. Really good experience here with very tasty food, nice people and quality dishes. I'm still getting over the idea of expensive dim sum because of growing up eating it in SF with low costs in a humble setting, but for this overall experience I felt the prices were fine. I will definitely be back, and eager to try the rest of the items on their menu.

I decided to grab lunch here after seeing the great Yelp rating. The place has a clean and colorful interior. I ordered the Mongolian Beef Lunch plate, and Iced Tea. I noticed this place has very attentive service. The iced tea was served in a carafe with a glass loaded with ice and lemon slices. The tea was strong, so when it was poured over the ice, it was perfect! The lunch included hot & sour soup. The Mongolian Beef lunch plate was presented with a balance of Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice. A fried won ton skin tops it off. Very good food. Very attentive service. Free 2nd glass of iced tea. I will return and try the won ton soup! Free parking, and it's right next to the freeway ramps.

Unfortunately, they don't have any round tables for big groups, but they can accommodate at least groups of 8-10 because they put tables together for us to fit us in. We made a res because of our group size, and we had no issues being seated right away. They serve water vs hot tea, but the water glasses are big and they are constantly refilling! Super good service. We ordered a lot of dishes because we were a group of 8. We called ahead and special ordered jai (also called Buddha's delight) which is a common dish for Chinese new year. It's clear rice noodles with veggies and tofu skin. It was delicious! We also ordered the seafood platter, beef chow fun (small charge for the wide noodles instead of mein), salt and pepper fish, green onion pancake appetizer, Manchurian beef, another veggie platter (I think it was just a deluxe veggie dish), honey walnut prawns, and basil chicken which was not spicy in my opinion. All of the food was good. The Manchurian beef and salt and pepper fish breading was a little thicker than I like but the flavors were delicious. Support local businesses!

I got the pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, broccoli beef and moo shu pork. The moo shu was the standout, with the delicious plum sauce! Yum! As a conneseur of fine, authentic Chinese food, the menu was very impressive. When you see chicken feet on the menu, you know it's authentic! In addition to the chicken feet, we also ordered the Peking duck, mapo tofu, and a few different types of dim sum. (Sorry I wasn't able to post any photos. But I did notice that the menu we saw had a little more than what other customers posted on Yelp.). Bottom line, the food was simply fantastic. Chef's kiss!!! Last, but not least, the staff is phenomenal. We were waited on by 3 different employees, each of whom gave impeccable service.
