Japanese Kirin beer
Bennett P.

I came for lunch on Sunday. I was their first customer today. Despite the location facing southwest, it was comfortably cool inside. I started with 12oz bottle of Kirin Ichiban. Great golden color with plenty of bubbles rising from the bottom of the Kirin branded glass. My appetizer was Shrimp Shumai. It came out piping hot. I then ordered the Mackerel (Yakizakana). This plate comes with soup, lettuce salad and white rice. I declined the miso soup and even clear broth because of the sodium level in most soups. The mackerel was perfectly cooked. Two wedges of lemon were provided. The large amount of steamed broccoli was also perfect. My server Chantra P. was great. I looked back thru my photo gallery and discovered my previous visit in Sept 2023 was also broiled Mackerel. I compared the prices, but most prices increased modestly. I need to come back and try other selections.

Great sushi!! Sonodas has remodeled and the restaurant looks trendy. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Patrons can sit at a table or the sushi bar. Awesome cucumber salad. Watch your sushi made fresh and grab a Japanese beer. Bathrooms were clean and parking is in a lot.

This is our go-to sushi spot in Colorado. It is nothing fancy, but the food is always delicious and the service is great. Their sushi rice is well-seasoned and very flavorful, and it never comes out dry or too sticky. Some of our favorites include the unagi, Ume (sour plum paste), George's roll (spicy tuna, scallops, masago, and avocado), scallops, crunchy spicy tuna roll, and the ikura (salmon roe). They use incredibly fresh cuts of fish and you can taste the high quality.

All a GF sushi loving person could want: reasonable prices (especially Sunday and Monday happy hour all night!), GF labels, and plenty of options!

Good value and pretty tasty. I liked both of the things I ordered - crunchy spicy tuna roll and new style sashimi. Subjectively from my friends, this is what I would try vs avoid the next time I'm there. Try soba noodles and gyudon. Avoid chicken cutlet. Karaage is just ok. Service is friendly, like the neighborhood aunt kind of friendly. Parking is available in the lot right outside. It looks nicer in the inside than it does from the outside. I'll be back!

Just an update. For that important days like Valentine's and falls on Friday and during HH, Google will assist with reservation. Normally, Sonoda is walk in most of the time but has hunch that I may need to make a reservation. For dinner, they do open at 4:30 pm and we were there at 4:25 pm and "Open" sign was on. As we walked in, one of the waitress greeted us and asked us if we had reservation. Of course. I did notice every table had "reserved" sign on it. We got the most preferred seat which is right next to the aquarium by the window. Our favorite l, most outstanding person "Rose" was taking care of us. She is perfect hostess and valuable to this establishment. She bought everything we needed and in timely manner. Our experience was perfect. I have been noticing their sushi rice consistency has improved a lot. In the past, it was slightly to the "too moist" side but lately, it's been perfect. Maybe the new machine they got is helping? It was definitely 5 star experience this evening. Perfect all the way. P.s. HH Friday early evening too. Hoot hoot!

This place never disappoints! I've been coming here for over 10 years. The sushi is always great. Great service! They know us here. I love Baked Bay Scallops for an appetizer. And my favorite sushi rolls are -Kaibashira (Scallop Roll) and Shake (Salmon) they are both like butter, melt in your mouth! Also love Salmon & Cr. Cheese, Spicy Scallop Roll, shrimp Tempura roll, crab Tempura roll. They have the best scallops. I could eat them all!

WARNING! Wasabi between the rice and the fish in the nigiri. I am not a fan, but I know some people are. The rating disregards my personal disliking as this was still a pretty good spot to get reasonably priced sushi from friendly staff in an awesome environment. I ordered the sushi dinner which was a spicy tuna roll with 7 pieces of nigiri based on the chef's recommendation. The fish was fresh and was less expensive than I would've expected. I would love to go back and specify to hold the wasabi and I think it would have been an incredible meal.

You honestly can't go wrong eating here. This place has been around since the 80's and the food is pure heaven. We come here often from Parker to get our sushi fix. We honestly go big and make it a feast. All the dishes are freshen and decent sized. Their nigiri are a mouthful! I love all their rolls. Try their Baked Green muscles and the yellow tail collar. We also enjoyed all their kitchen food items such has their udon and teriyaki chicken. My kids are always asking to come back. Don't expect to come here for the ambiance, this is a small mom and pop shop that is all about the food and service. I love how we've become regulars where Makoto (sushi chef and owner) will take time away to come greet us. I love seeing how they've established a business and built up regular customers! If you're local or in the area, highly recommend check them out.

I love Sonoda's. Not everything on their menu is a complete win but everything definitely tastes fresh. I order take out from here a lot. The quality is always good and they are fast. I really like the spicy lava roll, miso soup and gyoza.

Absolutely our new go to sushi spot - we ordered via door dash and everything got here fairly quickly and at a good temp. I am so happy of how affordable yet FRESH this place is. You can tell just from their bi-lingual menu and offerings that this place is more legit than others. Everything was very good. No complaints.

Well, the spicy cucumber salad wasn't spicy at all and almost sweet. But the "bad" part was the server. The booth behind us (already seated when we arrived) received complimentary dessert (sesame balls/mochi, patrons left them behind untouched) and the other booth (seated after us, with a very obnoxious child) got towels to wash hands before eating. We got none of that. Instead, while I'm actively working through my meal, chopsticks in hand, server returned with the check and held it out in front of my face, expecting me to stop eating, put down the chopsticks, interrupt my pace, accept the check folio, wait until she cleared a space for me to set it back down before I could resume enjoying my meal. I stared at her until she decided to thrust it in my husband's face before clearing his sushi plate so he could accept the folio, set it down and wait while I finished. I wasn't offended by the offer of forks, that's common when it's us two older white people, but the disparity of service was RUDE. Food was great but that server. Yeeeesh.

The sushi is 4 stars in my opinion--good, but not great. The nigiri and specialty rolls were solid, and I especially liked the spicy tuna. I absolutely love sushi, so I'm always excited to find a place that offers all-you-can-eat sushi,…read moreand I definitely think this place is worth the money overall. The sushi is pretty tasty, and there's a good variety of rolls to choose from, which makes the all-you-can-eat option especially appealing if you're someone who likes trying a little bit of everything. For the price, you can definitely get your money's worth if you come hungry. My biggest issue, though, is the wait time between ordering and actually getting your sushi. It feels like you wait quite a while for your rolls to come out, and that can make the all-you-can-eat experience feel a little bit like you're getting scammed. By the time you finish your first order and finally get your second round of rolls, you can already have been sitting there for an hour. Since you're paying for all-you-can-eat, you obviously want to be able to order and enjoy multiple rounds without spending most of your meal waiting for the food to arrive. I think having more servers or more staff in general would really help speed up the process and make the experience much better. The atmosphere itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a typical sushi restaurant. It's casual and has a nice enough vibe, but the restaurant is usually pretty packed, so it can get fairly noisy. I personally don't mind a busy restaurant, but if you're looking for somewhere quiet and intimate, this probably isn't the place for that. The busyness does show that the restaurant is popular, though, and I can understand why people keep coming back. One thing I do really like is that you get free ice cream at the end of your meal. It's a small detail, but it's a nice way to finish everything off, especially after eating a ton of sushi. Overall, I'd definitely come back because I love sushi and I think the food and price are worth it. I just hope they can improve the service speed because the long waits between orders are really the only thing keeping this from being a five-star experience for me.

This sushi restaurant is extremely unprofessional and incredibly inappropriate…read more We have been coming to this establishment for 4 years consistently now, and we have introduced a lot of people to this establishment. We and everyone we have introduced to this sushi restaurant will no longer be giving our business to the immature and disrespectful people who work there. I've never been so disappointed or surprised by such immaturity. So for back story, when I was 38 weeks pregnant, they had completely messed up our order and I called and just let them know, the lady was arguing with me back and forth for no reason, then claimed she was going to refund the one combination since I couldn't eat mine (raw fish) but my husband had started to eat his already. Fine, okay. Never got the refund. Pretty weird , but we still continued to order from them and give them another shot. We usually always order the same thing. Combination that includes the crunch scallops. This roll has cooked scallops in the roll and fried scallops on top. We have ordered that particular roll on many occasions , so we know what it looks like. Anyways, last night, I called and I ordered $100 worth of sushi. As soon as I gave my name, the man who took my order quite literally LAUGHED at me. Then, my husband went to go pick up the food and decided to check it. They gave us RAW scallops in the sushi, and RAW scallops on top that the soggy breading clearly had fallen off of since it was still raw and wet. We had to put them in the air fryer. We called and asked what happened and they played dumb over and over and the man said "I was laughing at a funny video, not your name" what the hell?? That is so far from the truth and a terrible lie because how are you taking my order on the computer while watching a video at the same time? It was quite clearly a manipulative and purposefully thought out tactic to ruin our food. He continued to argue with my husband on the phone, and then passed the phone to a female who proceeded to be completely unprofessional and then she hung up on us. We let it go for the night, but no one ate the crunch scallops sushi. Who wants to eat a raw scallop? Not me. We are very disappointed and recommend people find a better sushi restaurant with more professional workers. This could happen to anyone.

We waited 15 minutes just to get any kind of service, eventually having to flag down a server ourselves. After placing our first round of orders, the wait continued. Nearly an hour later, I got up to find a manager because we felt completely neglected as a table while watching other tables receive much better service. Turns out, our server was the manager. When we asked what was taking so long, she apologized and told us the rest of our first order was being plated. That was apparently not true, because we waited another 30 minutes before it finally arrived. I had my young son with me, who was absolutely starving. After an hour and a half of being there and still not having received all of our food, I went to the counter and asked for everything to be boxed up. I was told it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting those 10 minutes, I finally had to leave my sister behind and take my son home because it was already past his bedtime and he needed to eat. And somehow, it got worse. My sister had to ask another server for our check because our original server/manager never came back to check on us or close out our table. During that interaction, the server spilled soy sauce all over my brother-in-law, ruining his entire outfit. The response was essentially just "I'm sorry, are you okay?" with no offer to help clean up or any real effort to make things right. At no point throughout the evening did anyone proactively check on us, communicate the delays, or acknowledge how unacceptable the situation had become. We had to repeatedly get up and track someone down just to receive basic service. What is most disappointing is that despite everything, no one offered a discount, compensation, or even made a genuine effort to make things right. After the amount of time we waited, the lack of service, being given inaccurate information, and the additional incident with the soy sauce, I absolutely feel some sort of adjustment to our bill was warranted. We weren't expecting perfection, but we did expect basic customer service and consideration, especially with a young child at the table. It's incredibly disappointing to go from genuinely enjoying a restaurant to leaving feeling like our business didn't matter. This wasn't just a long wait. It was an entire evening of being overlooked, having to advocate for ourselves, and ultimately leaving with a terrible impression of a place we once loved.

Viewed the menu online, and it looked good, so we decided to go there. It was only an hour before closing time on a Sunday night, but we were welcomed in, and seated quickly. They also have a kiosk if you want to place a to-go order in person. Our server, who we later found out is the owner, was a friendly and helpful lady named Grace. I ordered a cup of Wonton Soup to start, and the portion was very large, especially considering the reasonable price. It was absolutely Delicious. Next, I had the Bo Bo Platter, which were assorted appetizers. The only Vegetarian item on it were the egg rolls, so my friend didn't have anything, and it was a lot of food, all for me. I enjoyed everything, especially the chicken wings, beef skewers and fried shrimp. For my entree, I got the Sizzling Udon Noodles. Unfortunately, I was a bit stuffed, so I couldn't finish it. I took some back to the hotel, along with a couple of unfinished appetizers. I heated them in the room's microwave the next morning, and although not as good as when freshly made, I still enjoyed my "breakfast." At no time did we feel rushed, even though we ended up being there at least 30-45 minutes past closing. Grace said she had recently taken over ownership, and I so hope she is successful.
