Our family has been going to this Sonny's for years. However, our last experience was terribly unsatisfactory. We ordered a family pack for 4...the sizes were not fit for a family of four but would have fed a smaller family. The brisket was the absolutely the worst we've ever had. The ribs were under cooked. Good news...the green beans were delicious. But I can cook green beans at home. The chicken and pulled pork weren't bad. This Sonny's is a great location. I've always enjoyed their barbecue and selection of sauces (even though they're all the thick kind; no vinegar-based ones). Lately they've added a lot of new items to the menu like Redneck Egg Rolls (filled with barbecue and cheese and served with smoking ranch dipping sauce) and the BOMB - a sandwich with brisket, onion straws, mac n cheese, and barbecue sauce. Very tasty, gut-busting food for a good price. The Big Deal, is always a real value - add $2 to a sandwich to get a drink and a side. You can also add the salad bar for $3.99. The staff here is always really amazing. They work hard to make sure you enjoy your experience here and get all the food and refills you need. And they do it all with a smile and a good attitude. The only things keeping this location from being 5 stars is their salad bar and the fact that the floors can get a little messy at times. The salad bar at some other Sonny's locations have two sides. This one has one side and you have to strain and reach up under the sneeze guard to get cheese cubes. Come to think of it, I've never seen anyone sneeze at a salad bar. Oh well. Ordered Curbside Pickup Great food, but I when I got there and tried to pick it up, the line was busy consistently for at least 10 minutes. After I finally said I was there ~15 minutes past when it was due to be out, I waited another 15 minutes, and nobody came. I walked in, and the food was ready on the counter. So essentially 30 minutes wasted. Should have gone through the drive through, where they have no choice but to serve it to you. read more

I have never been to a Sonny's that doesn't care about the way they treat their customers or how they serve their food, until I started going to this one. I placed an order through their website, that was delivered through door dash. When my food arrived my redneck eggrolls were raw, I ordered loaded tots and all they gave me were plain tater tots with no toppings, and my corn nuggets were overcooked practically burnt. I called them to inform them what happened and the mgr told me I needed to contact door dash to issue a complaint and receive a refund. I called door dash making sure to let them know that it was not their fault that this restaurant is incompetent of getting someone's order right. And door dash told me that since I ordered through the restaurants website the restaurant itself would have to provide the resolution. I spoke with the mgr Tracy who did not even offer me a replacement for my food and she was rude and didn't even apologize for their mistake and basically rushed me off the phone to tell me she would call me by the next morning to provide a resolution. She never called and I had to call them back and the mgr I spoke with told me that I would need to call on Saturday to speak with the GM because there is nothing they can do. I spent over 70.00 for that order and I have to wait 4 days until someone be resolves my issue. read more

I wouldn't exactly call a place with a salad bar a true bbq house. Nobody really wants to see green when they've got meat on their mind. Their menu has a wide array of different dishes like hamburgers, fried foods, and the aforementioned salad bar. You get a decent amount of bbq on your orders, but definitely not for the price you pay. They've got the typical bbq sauces to pour over your food (sweet, sweet and spicy, and regular) but being a chain bbq place, there isn't much too it. Me and my husband ate here Saturday; we haven't been in a while especially since the remodel. The service was great, we were seated quickly and our food came out quickly. The food was also great, no complaints in the food or service department. Our only complaint was when we were leaving there was a woman at the bar in a bathing suit drinking a beer; along with her two children, also in bathing suits. So far I have only tried a couple items. The ribs, sweet potato and green beans are very good, the corn is good, the cornbread is good too, the beans...an acquired taste but not bad, sausage ,brocoli, french fries and mac and cheese are average. Brisket is very good too, but not the best if you have been in Texas. Now the turkey was very dry, so you definately have to soak it in bbq sauce to eat it unlike their chicken, that is very juicy in comparison. Service is very good. I probably continue adding to this list, because so far is one of my favorite places to go for a quick bite to eat. read more

My date and I went to Sonny's BBQ for DINNER over the weekend and we were well pleased. (-) As we walked inside the restaurant, I did not feel a warm feeling to the restaurant. Probably due to the dim setting mixed with the dark brown wooden floor. The restaurant was pretty dirty with a lot of trash and fallen food on the floor and even at the table we sat. I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought that they just had customers leave but not a single person cleaned the table or floor until we left the restaurant, and the restaurant had less than 20 people at the time. (+) Our waitress was nice and got our order quick, we ordered the Ribs for Two and sweet tea as well, the food came at moderate time and was served hot and fresh. I thought the pricing was good for the dinner menu and we even had leftovers to take home as well. The ribs were delicious as well as the sweet tea! We asked for the half the rib rack to be sweet and the other to be dry since those were the two options. Get the sweeter version, we both thought it tasted better! The "sidekicks" were a nice plus as well as we tasted some of good southern favorite cuisine like corn nuggets. (+) Overall my date and I enjoyed our time and experience at the restaurant. I honestly believe that Sonny's is a class above other restaurants in Warner Robins because I believe other restaurants do not make an effort in making their food because of the military base and retirees in the area which just practically give their money to lower-end quality restaurants such as Ruby Tuesday. We ate at this Sonny's 2x in past two weeks. It is new or newly remodeled & as someone who has eaten at well over 50 different Sonny's over past 40 years I will share that I think this is perhaps the best design & use of materials yet. It has an industrial type of design which allows for a cleaner & more efficient operation. By far the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen at a Sonny's. I've been to so many dirty, rundown & old Sonny's that this was quite a surprise. Regarding food on both visits - above average & the servers were extremely pleasant - especially Taylor who took care of us today. It was obvious they were understaffed & Taylor recognized we had not been taken care of & stepped up. I would recommend that a manager make rounds as it was needed. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would!!! We waited 45min before they decided to come out and tell us they were out of sliced pork, pulled pork, baby back ribs, basically everthing pork beside their st. louis cut ribs. The managers of this sonny's are ignorant and rude. They talked down to us when we confronted them about my sons "pulled chicken", my husbands black lettuce he had on his burger and why the salad bar was empty. All they did was put their fingers in my sons chicken and then put bbq sauce on it then proceeded to bring it back to him. I told them this was not their original pulled chicken and my son was not going to eat what other's have touched. The manager said "well we had 14 burnt chickens in the back and I had to pull one apart for this order". I asked why didn't they just tell us that from the begining she said "we don't have to explain it to you". Are you kidding me? We are paying for food we ordered not food you think we should have. When my husband asked about the black lettuce and why the salad bar that we were paying for was pretty much empty she made us out to be liars and then she threatend to call the cops while not giving us an explanation for it. So we got up and left. This sonny's has lost alot of business because of the staff and that they are always out of food. The owner of this sonny's contacted me and said lets be civil after I told him I was going to leave comments on fb and other sites (he did not want me to leave comments). That just showed me what kind of person he is and how he wants to run his business. It's sad this sonnys use to be a great place to go. My husband and I drove 2 hours from Alabama to eat Sonny's because it is my favorite restaurant. We hadn't been close to one in four years so decided to make the drive to this one. Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Taylor. I couldn't remember which style of ribs I loved back then so she brought me out the ones I thought were it and let me try it before I decided on what to order. She checked in on us often and the food was delicious. Just as I remembered it. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. Great food for a great price. I placed a takeout order and it was done fast so we could be on our way. I am so glad that I had an amazing experience at my favorite restaurant chain. Thank you! Honestly, I know these people have worked hard to create a business but despite a new building a short few years ago, the astetics are simply gross. The old building had a soft, spoungy, running track type floor, who's porous surface was packed and saturated with years of dingy barbeque sauce, meat scraps and mop water. The new restaurant, after a short time, is not much better. I have avoided this place for years due to the first experiences and now, since the new store has aged, the choice of bare wood throughout has resulted in the same disgusting buildup on common dining surfaces like tables. For me, the food isn't miraculous enough to risk a week in bed and or residing in my bathroom. read more

Normally their food is good but not august 21st. Ribs where dried out like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. The green beans where actually dehydrated and burnt. The baked beans looked unusually dark and the texture was chewy. Corn fritters were awesome. Service was awesome. St louis Ribs a huge dis appointment. read more

The food came out hot and quick. You can't beat 14.99 all you can eat ribs! The service was the only thing that was lacking. While we were satisfied with the attentiveness, it took almost 30 minutes to get the check. The waitress even came by two times and said she would be right back with the check. Sonnys is the place for sweet bbq. If you dont like it sweet like me you have the classic ribs and sliced brisket to choose from. The garlic texas toast is the best. The brisket was good--smokey and tender, slightly dry without being dried out and just a bit salty-- sides flavorful, service quick and friendly. Lunch-sized portions were for me big, but not gut-busting. Wide variety of meats and styles--something for everyone on the menu. I really like this place. I've been here 4 times now (always in the drive through), and the combo meal with a side and drink is a great deal. The sandwich is definitely best on the garlic bread and the mac and cheese is awesome! I prefer the pulled pork. I got the pulled chicken one time and wasn't super impressed.
