Love this place a must stop for us when in Florida, brisket and pulled pork sandwich's are excellent, service is great.

BBQ was like Carolina BBQ. We sat at bar. Our waiter was friendly. They were not busy and it was a little slow. Food was good. My husband said his was a little dry. He got a platter with ribs, sausage and brisket so his was different than mine. I got sliced brisket, sweet potatoes and corn. We got the corn fritters which were great and way too many but still great. Nice little place. read more

Business going down hill. Eaten there many times in the past and was disappointed by my recent experience. The only food worth eating were the green beans and the baked beans. Brisket hard and dry, pulled pork was hard and dry, chicken was hard and tasteless. Just Bad!!! read more

I am so disappointed. 6 of us went to Sonnys last night on 19 Spring Hill and the food was not good. And it was served not hot at all . Very disappointed. We go there at least twice a month and I think we will cut back on going there. We told the waiter and he just kept bringing us different ribs which were no better. Ps we had all you can ribs. So sad read more

Was not greated at front door hostess was cleaning tables. After being seated I had to flag down hostess again to let her know I did not get a waitress. The kind hostess got me a drink. And let me know my server was on her way. A seasoned female server arived eating her lunch. Being my first time at Sonnys I had a few questions her response was uh uh uh answers to my questions. I would have liked a little in put. I had a brisket pladder that was very good with slaw and mac and cheese all was good but the service needs help read more

I visited this week the food was amazing and I want to give a shout out to Amanda Bell she was so nice and so friendly I believe all restaurants need a Amanda Bell working for them! Thank you for your great hospitality read more

I love Sonny's and so do my friends. I think their barbecue is very flavorful. The coleslaw taste is just right with a little sweetness, but not too sweet. They have a great salad with anything you can think of to put a tasty salad together and lots of different dressings. I picked up takeout a few weeks ago and got two meals and BBQ Eggrolls. Yummy!! read more

Stopped by this place wanting some good barbecue. It was about 7:00 pm there were several people having dinner. We were seated the Waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a combination player which had prime rib pulled pork an ribs. I was very disappointed the prime rib was dry and tasteless. The ribs were under cooked and hard not tender at all. The pulled pork was good so was the ice cold beer and the Waitress. She was constantly checking on us to make sure everything was ok. Tipped her well but was very disappointed in the food. These folks should go take a lesson and taste of Famous daves barbecue. I will not be returning to Sonny's BBQ. read more

We were in Sonny's a few weeks ago for the all-you-can eat St. Louis ribs. I told our server that the last time we ate there, the second helping of ribs were kind of dry. They said we should always ask for the center-cut. We did, and they were delicious, juicy, and tender. As always the service was friendly and attentive, and the sides were wonderful. read more

Everything was delicious. The baby back ribs were perfect. Mac and cheese, bbq beans, and coleslaw Were surprisingly delicious. read more

I love this place. Before I moved to Florida it was either Tops BBQ or Interstate. Both of those are great BBQ places in Mississippi and I'd highly recommend them both but let's get to the reason I love Sonny's. Great food, and great service. The corn bread is amazing. So amazing in fact I call it "porn" bread. "The porn bread is so amazing its like sex for your mouth" That's how I describe it and when my wife and I go we make sure to share with the servers what we call it. They get a great laugh out of it which makes the experience even better! Usually we get the all you can eat, and after a few plates we are stuffed. High recommended. Go for the barbecue, and definitely try their "porn" bread! read more

Food tastes good but don't waste your money on the BBQ bowls if you are hungry. They are kid portioned size, maybe 6 bites worth of Mac n cheese. Almost no tater tots. read more

Sonny's is always clean and the people are friendly. There is a big selection of food which is always good. Their fried okra is the best in the area! read more

Food was great Our waitress 'Sherri' was friendly and patient BUT ... (1) We couldnt enjoy our food with those damn flies everywhere. (2) Also they only are Military friendly to Active Duty service members. How in the hell could they tell.but looking at the ID Cards THEY CAN'T ... so for that reason alone I will never go back ... in support of all of my brothers and sisters in the Reserve and Guard units in the Spring Hill, Florida area. I failed to mention they did discount my meal but not my bill. read more

BBQ is great here! The corn was commercial kfc grade frozen. Soaked in water and reheated. The corn soggy and wet. Corn bread commercial Jiffy muffin mix. Main staple of people on welfare but okay if inebriated. Beans from a can . Pure corn syrup. Coke slaw excellent but could be commercial. Get take out better for your money. Got a mixed drink soda tasted like metal because the lines needed cleaning. Ok value! read more

Wasn't impressed - first time here. We had the wings and shared the sampler. Table was not set. We were given silverware but no napkins or sauces. Had to ask for them after we had already been given the wings. Took awhile for the meal to show up. The beans were excellent, Mac and cheese tasted like it was from a box. Wings were good and had great flavor. Brisket was okay, pulled pork not much flavor and chicken okay and moist. Ribs were good. All of the sauces were overly sweet. May or my not try again. read more

My favorite BBQ. We love this place, even if it is a chain. Pulled pork is the best....no, the ribs...hmmm, baby backs??? Anyway, you can't go wrong with anything, so order a sweet tea and whatever pork part strikes your fancy, some fried okra, cole slaw and garlic bread. You'll be glad you did. read more

We dine here weekly. We've never been disappointed with the food. Food always comes out fast. Salad bar is usually fresh and kept well stocked. Sometimes the lettuce could be better. Maybe a vendor issue? Most of the servers are on point. Andrew is top notch. This is the best Sonny's in the area. read more

Aweful, that's the best word to describe this place.I've been eating here for many years but will no more, the remodel looks hideous and the waiter we had was just as bad. The food was mediocre at best. Someone in charge is dropping the ball here. read more

We just picked up the grilled cheese brisket sandwich and it was cold and the worst thing ever. It was downright nasty and had to be thrown away. read more

Absolutely the best BBQ I've had in a very long time. The menu offers a great variety and the prices are really good. You'll get a lot of tasty food for the money! Our orders were pulled chicken, chicken salad and a burger. Service was fantastic and the meals were hot, fast and delicious. The nice part is that the meats come fully cooked and you add the bbq sauce of your choice at the table. Perfection in every bite! read more

Sonny's BBQ - Variety of sauces at the table. - Barbeque Near Me - Spring Hill, Florida

Great Barbecue! Restaurant could be cleaner. Housekeeping needs some ramping up. Food & service are great.

After decades of being a loyal Sonny's customer, today we are done. Incorrect orders, omitted items, scant portions. Advising the location gave no results. Today I ordered a rib dinner and well, you guessed it...no ribs. Another call to the location got me "...sorry about that" and hung up. As they say, "done and done". read more

I had been a loyal customer for years up until today. My husband I ordered pulled pork sandwiches as we have many times before and for some reason the bbq was SUPER sweet. It tasted like someone had dumped a five pou bag of sugar in the sauce and the meat was clearly a cheaper cut, dry and string. We couldn't eat our food and threw it in the trash. Seriously, is it worth losing your loyal customer base by serving up unhealthy garbage? read more

We love Sonny's. We come here about once a month. Great selection of all bar b q. Usually quick to get a table can be some wait around expected prime times. There is a small bar up front to wait and have a beer. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Large salad bar for an extra cost. We usually skip it as our Meals are always adequate. They have appetizers and sandwich offerings. Great ribs. They have several all you can eat options of ribs chicken and pork. Meals come with your choice of Texas toast or corn bread and then choice of two sides. I love the sweet potato and Cole slaw. Sides are large in size. All you can eat options include all you can eat sides. They no longer let you use a take away box if you order the all you can eat. Expected! I would imagine people abusing the last round for a meal the next day . Free refills on drinks and they will provide you with a to go cup for your drink. Nice treat for our hot Florida weather. They have a great take out feature with call ahead and pick up. Items are packaged well. Table is prepped with several squeeze bottles of sauce wet naps and napkins. Enjoy! read more

Not keeping up to par the last several times I've visited. Meat has either been tough or lacking in volume. Nice to have as a bbq location each day of the week, but I wish the portion sizes and tenderness would be there. Too commercialized, lacking the hometown bbq flare anymore. read more

I don't know what has happened to Sonny's BBQ in Spring Hill but their food has become inedible. The meats are so dry that sauce can't help it. The chicken had been cooked so long and reheated that when you bit into it, it became the texture of sand. Too bad! I use to like Sonny's. read more

Food was awful, service was even worse it took an hour and a half to get two sandwiches on an extremely slow Sunday night. The only opportunity I had to speak to the manager was when I was leaving, we had to walk to the bar area just to get our bill, and I told him he should have been embarrassed for sending food out of the kitchen that way. He offered absolutely nothing, not a reduction on my bill nothing. The server never came back to the table to check so I did not have the opportunity to order something else. I was not trying to get anything for free I just would have liked some acknowledgement as to how awful the entire event was. read more

We went for lunch today and were seated promptly. Our server, Stacey was awesome and attentive. We had baby back ribs lunches and the beans were so good. They served plenty of mouth watering ribs and the slaw and garlic toast was perfect. Will definitely return soon! read more

SONNY'S REAL PIT BBQ - 4731 Commercial Way, Spring Hill with Mgr. Jessica at the helm and Wil serving the best ribs that I have ever tasted. The new decor set off our lunch on Mother's Day. The entire inside had been remodeled with the addition of a bar up front, still leaving the feeling of a family BBQ restaurant. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Seats, bathrooms, floors, employees. I even got a chance to peek into the kitchen... wow! Very clean! I felt comfortable enough to eat off the floors if I had to. I would recommend that everyone stop by and check out the place. THIS PLACE IS ON TOP OF THEIR GAME!! read more

Sonny's is one of our favorite BBQ places to order from, but I have to say, I was very disappointed when I visited the Spring Hill location. Very frequently we order from the New Port Richey store and get the very same order. I order for 3 adults and two children. I always place an order for the salad bar and when I got to the Spring Hill store, he gave me a container 1/2 the size I normally get from the other store and one side and one dressing container. I mentioned that I normally get something different at the other store, but he quickly turned to me and was very rude and said we are not affiliated with that other store and if you'd like an extra container I will have to charge you another 9.00. Wow, 18.00 for a salad bar!! I was very upset and canceled the salad bar order, but took the other dinners home so my family could eat. I was not in any way trying to get a bigger container so I can fill it as much as possible, but I was asking for it so I can take home some of your wonderful crab salad and chocolate pudding in separate containers, as it is not appetizing to eat them when they are all crammed together in a small Box on top of my salad. If that is the expected way salad bar to-go is given out, then it should be the same at all locations. read more

Everytime I come here the food and service is always perfect.. The manager of this Sonny's should be commended on how well this restaurant is run.. It is by far the best Sonny's that we go to. read more

Waitress wonderful. Food was good. Floors a tad bit dirty and needed cleaning. It was a Sunday evening and I am sure they were busy.

all of the meat is so extremely fatty it is barely edible, grilled cheese brisket was soggy and filled with whole chunks of fat throughout it. also messed up the order and forgot entire meal and sides- don't recommend this place read more

Delicious competition ribs and baby backs. Mac and cheese was ok, pasta was a bit over cooked. Also would like to see real bacon at the salad bar not the fake bacon bits. Cinnamon butter was a nice accompaniment with the baked sweet potatoe. read more

Came in from out of town and was recommended Sonny's by some locals. The food was excellent, waitress was always stopping at our table, and the prices were on point. The salad bar was so fresh. As well as all of the meat we ordered was hot and tender. If I am ever out here again and in the mood for BBQ I will defiantly be back. read more

While I can't say I was a huge fan of the brisket that I ordered, the sides that came with it were pretty good. I had the mac and cheese, cole slaw, and corn bread. I snagged a beef rib from someone at my table, and was a bit disappointed. It wasn't particularly meaty and felt a bit overdone. Redneck egg rolls were an interesting, and I enjoyed them. Our server was really friendly and very attentive and accommodating. read more

We were visiting friends on our vacation and they recommended this spot for dinner, which was amazing. The service is great and portions are huge. We try to eat in the lighter side so we ordered the BBQ chicken salad and the chicken Caesar, both of which were fantastic. The apples are also really tasty. read more
