I am a big fan of Sonic, just not this location. I stopped at this location on a weekend road trip to get a famous cherry lime-aid and use the restroom. The cherry Lime-aid was ok, the restrooms were not. The restrooms looked as if they had not been cleaned in weeks, TP scattered around, dirt everywhere, no soap in the soap dispenser, no paper towels and no working hand dryer. Not sure how employees are complying with hand/food sanitation requirements after going to the bathroom. I made my order but quickly noticed how dirty and unclean the place is. The trash cans are overflowing. The bathrooms look like they've never been swept. There were old cobwebs with tons of bugs in every corner. Huge sign the bathrooms are not being thoroughly cleaned or ever have. Staff was unprofessional. This is my third time coming here this week where I had to cancel an order now you're messing with my time and gas, you guys need to get it together because it's not about you, there are people out here trying to work and people that are depending on you for their food. Stopped on a Sunday afternoon to get a couple of drinks and a bag of ice. Ordered at 2:05pm from the mobile app. Checked In at 2:10pm, asked about my order at 2:20pm and was told they could not find my order any longer. When I showed them my mobile order, they said it should be just a few minutes. By 2:45pm, I had asked for the manager to request a refund. When he came to the door, was rude and inconsiderate. He barked that he could not assist me at all and then turned his back to me and started helping other people. Needless to say, will not return to this location. Although this location appears to be updated for covid, they clearly haven't spent money on basic upkeep. We sat at the speaker to order for a couple of minutes with no response to "Hello? hello?" So finally drove up to the window. The clerk said it was broken. I noticed there was an external paypoint and remarked how nice that there was hand sanitizer right next to it. It was non-functional. Most of the stalls are dirty and nasty. A few are out of service. Ordered online, picke up time 1:05 pm, arrived at 12:58. But didn't get my food until 1:29 pm. Pressed the red buttons twice and waited 10 minutes to answer my call. The second time told me that couldn't even find my order. I wasn't happy with the food at this place. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich meal and an all American hot dog and they were both really cold and and old. The fries were pieces of rubber, cold and chewy, the chicken sandwich was cold and the chicken itself looked like it had been sitting on the shelf for a few hours and wasn't even warmed up again to make it look better. The hotdog was old and wrinkled as if it bad been sitting for a while. I personally will always avoid this location going forward and I'd advise everyone else to be cautious. Where to start...the service was sub par. I did not get greeted anywhere near appropriately. I was greeted with a "good night" and then dead silence. I did not get several items in my order and what I did receive in my order was not fresh. The groovy fries were so sad. These slushies are as good as it gets. There are so many options so little space, there's no other option than to keep coming back. Each time I come I try a new combination. This location is convenient if you are staying next door to at the Great Wolf Lodge. It is actually walking distance. I personally did not have to wait in a long line. We are locals in Williamsburg and have visited this sonic a good amount of times. We have tried to give them chances, tried to understand. Every single time we are there, it's ALWAYS slow, orders are wrong sometimes. I get under staffing, but put up some signs...do SOMETHING to warn the customers that yall are understaffed. This was one of the worst fast food experiences we have ever had. We ordered 5 item. 3 of the 5 items were totally wrong. The other two items that we got were equally inedible. We ordered a drink with NO ICE because my mother has bad teeth and is very sensitive to cold. The drink we received didn't have 2 tablespoons of liquid in it because it was super packed with ice. We ordered a large tater tots. We got a wrapper with 3 tater tots in it and NO MORE anywhere in the bag. I could go on and on but this place should be avoided at all costs. I attempted to call them to see if they would make our oder correctly but they clearly have their phone off the hook because it was "busy" for 8 hrs. We need these 50's style drive-up food places in the NOVA area...why are they only south of us??? This location was a 24/7 stop, and served as our go-to immediate-fix food stop! Since we were in an RV, we could not take advantage of the drive up service, but there was a huge parking area for our moving house. We walked up to the 'inter-com', placed our orders, and a 'skater' came to deliver our food with a smile on their face! It doesn't get any better than that at 10pm at night! After a busy day shopping in beautiful Willamsburg Virginia we stopped by this Sonic because my 6 year old begged us to go there. Yes I agree with previous review that said "advertising works" First thing I noticed was all the trash on the ground around the backside of the drive thru. There was one car ahead of me and another one behind me and maybe one other car at the drive up stalls. Soo not that busy. Took them a few minutes to finally speak to me and take our order. Finally got that completed and then as I drove up to the window I was shocked at how dirty the windows are at the drive thru. It wasn't just the window they use to service the drive they customers the windows on each side of that also. Not sure what was on them, they just were very dirty. My first thought was greese but these windows don't appear to be near the fryer. They had plenty of staff inside the restaurant and they seemed to be enjoying each other's company.....so much that they obviously weren't working. Observed four employees playfully engaged in conversation near the drive thru window area. We ordered a corn dog kids meal, two extra corn dogs, frito chips with chili and two drinks. I was for asked if I could pull forward and they would bring my order when it was ready. Then....I had to ask for my card back before I pulled up, which made me a bit unsettled. Upon pulling forward I could see where all the trash cans were over flowing there was trash on the ground, in the shrubs. The entire restaurant appears very unkept. I got to thinking...if it's this dirty out here where they know the public can see.....what does it look like inside where the food is being handed? BIG MISTAKE, STOPPING HERE!!!! They finally brought the food out, no drinks....but yes I got straws for the drinks. Well, I decided it probably wasn't a good idea to eat anything from here anyway. I couldn't throw it in the trash cans that were sitting right there due to them overflowing. But we left and went around the corner to Burger King, that was exceptionaly clean and service was very good. We will not be returning to this Sonic. We live in an nearby county and visit Willamsburg often to shop. This is not the normal way places of business are kept in Willamsburg. It is an upscale, tourist filled town with many family friendly places to eat for all budgets. I also will add that most Sonic restaurants I've visited are not like this. It took a long time to get someone to take my order, it was difficult for the person to understand the order (it was a large order so understandable), and then after 35 minutes the food was delivered. That sucked. But then two items were missing. I had to go into the Employee Only door because again they were not answering the call button. We pulled out of sonic at 8:32. I understand they were understaffed but FFS 50 minutes is too long to wait for food wrapped in paper served at your car. Do not go here.
