Since opening about a year ago Sonic has easily become my favorite fast-food restaurant. The food always tastes fresh and authentic. This is real meat, with real cheese on top of it! It's a revelation after being fooled for so many years by the "products" offered by the other "big boys" of the fast food world. And the in-store service is always fast, friendly, and accurate. I won't bore you with what I usually order because it's always some variation of burgers, potato products, chicken, and tasty-flavored soda beverages. Everything is always brought to my table hot, freshly made, and unbelievably tasty. This may not be the case if you're ordering from the drive-thru, as I've experience some inaccuracies there, and the food doesn't survive the car trip home well. But in-store, and I'd assume at the car-hop stations, service is top notch. There's just no reason Sonic isn't your number one fast-food choice in a city like Springfield that's pretty much locked into the McDonalds, Burger King, KFC/Taco Bell triumvirate with few other options. Sure there are the $6 burger places like Five Guys and Jakes, and the "gourmet" joints like Max and Plan B, which offer different dining experiences quick-serve spots can't attain to. But when it comes to true fast food burgers Sonic smokes them all! read more

Food was great as always. The service is friendly and quick. The value of the food is great. That new queso burger is amazing. You know what isn't? 3 of the 4 employees I saw were either not wearing their masks properly or not at all. This is food service in the middle of the worst wave of a pandemic. This is unacceptable and these employees need to get a clue. Congratulations, you work with the public and interacting with hundreds of people a day and you aren't wearing your masks properly. I won't be coming back to this location again. They are unsafe here. read more

Positively the WORST service I've ever received! Ordered at the drive through, get to the window and they don't know what we ordered, they acknowledged us over the intercom so they obviously heard us. Gave the order in person at the window and that person acted as if she heard us too. After a while she began handing us drinks we didn't order. After an unusually long time our food came. My burger was completely wrong and my wife's was a pitiful mess, inedible. We hadn't left the window as we checked our order so I managed to get the girl's attention and she ordered me a new burger. After another long wait I was asked to pull around front and she'd bring it out to me. Almost 15 minutes of sitting in wait, I went up and knocked on their locked door. A young man looked at me a few minutes later and waved for me to go to the drive through because the dining room was closed. Aghast I motioned for him to come to the door, and he started to tell me the dining room was closed, to go around to the drive through. I had to TELL HIM that they had sent me around to the front door to wait for a burger that never showed up! After a few more minutes he brought out a replacement AND IT WAS JUST AS WRONG AD THE FIRST ONE! Absolutely out of control incompetence and further more they didn't seem to care. Close your doors guys, you're done. read more

I've been to Sonics in other states and they are great. At this specific location, we have been waiting over a half hour to get tater tots and a drink. Asked to cancel order and got told "we will be right out". 5 minutes later and still nothing so my mom went inside and we supposedly had to take their word that it is cancelled. Why on earth would anyone come back here?. It's a FAST food restaurant. I could go to a fancy 5 star restaurant and get my food quicker. You guys should not be in service is this is our view of "service". 45 minutes of my life that I will never get back and now we still have to find somewhere else to eat. I wish I could give a negative star review. read more

Not only do they close early (over 40 mins) mostly every single day, but they have poor work ethic and great guests/customers like they are being bothersome. I understand it's not the best job but you have to have some self respect enough to be good to your decent to customers, even if you don't like the job you have to acknowledge the fact you choose to work there, they didn't force you to be in their employ. The food is half way decent for what it is. read more

Absolute terrible service. One they gave us half of the wrong things. And forgot 2 pieces of my meal. Maybe instead of having your workers sitting on their phones have the do their job. And do it correctly. read more

I am going to give the Sonic a one-star mainly because they messed up my order I ordered a milkshake and then they gave me a soda when I told him that this was wrong that I ordered a milkshake they apologized and then brought me a large soda and then again I had to tell them I didn't order soda I ordered a milkshake it should not be possible to mess up an order with just one item read more

Sonic Drive-In - How is it possible to mess up an order when it's just one item - Burgers Near Me - Springfield, Massachusetts

It was very busy a little bit after dinner time... we placed our order and waited about ten minutes and our roller skater delivered our order. We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster sandwich and the the texas toast was uncooked and soggy very unpleasant and they neglected to put bacon on my sandwich. We also ordered 3 different all beef hotdogs: the all american, new york and coney footlong. All of which were delicious... we ordered the super sonic bacon double cheeseburger and it was pretty good. We also had the french fries they were very greasy and cold and stuck together. We ordered onion rings and they neglected to charge us for them and give them to us. The beverages were very peppy and flavorful we had rootbeer and coke. The last item we got was shakes the strawberry cheesecake was awesome with lots of flavor and a strawberry shake which was very thick and delicious. The roller delivery was cool and overall pleasant experience except for the missing items. We shall try them again sometime... read more

Sonic Drive-In - Yummy Sonic for dinner!!! - Burgers Near Me - Springfield, Massachusetts

Took SO long to get our food and it wasn't even good. Cold and gross :( bummer. With no people ordering inside the drive through should go a little faster. 45 minutes for a burger and some chicken is ridiculous read more

Complete waste of money. Service was terrible and took a long time to get our food. We order three meals and assumed since we got three drinks all the food was in the bag. We didn't realize it until we got back to the hotel That we were missing a burger and fries. The fries and tots were soggy. read more

Honestly not sure how others have received good food here because quite honestly every time I'm in the mood for sonic I come here and instantly regret it my food it either cold, sloppy, wrong, or all of the damn above. This place literally sucks I do not know why it is even allowed to operate. I can't remember one time I had a good experience here recently. Not to mention I was there for like 35 minutes for a 10 dollar order read more

The service was terrible I had to wait 30 minutes for my card and they were VERY rude. I would not recommend the car hop here.

Boo Literally done with Sonic. Prices getting higher and higher, $5.24 for my sons milkshake. Am I at a sit down restaurant? Dumb. And the service at this place has sucked every time we have been here... I love a frozen limeade but I'll make my own. I'm done with you Sonic. read more

I got a cheeseburger that i thought tasted like McDonalds but a bigger burger. Corn dog tasted good. Service was fast and made sure I got my order right. Soft drinks were good. Finally the slushie had no taste. read more

I had a great experience with this Sonic! I was a bit nervous about going here because of the reviews but I was really craving it. My order came out quickly and accurately. In regards to the employees not coming out on skates as one reviewer mentioned; well the guy came out on skates and he was very friendly and courteous. As for the food, it was great, exactly what I expected, No complaints. I don't know if it matters the time of day you go there but just in case anyone wanted to know I went there around 3pm on a weekday. read more

They ABSOLUTELY SUCK! They are slow. They mess up your order 1/2 the time. And they are RUDE. Go elsewhere and spend your $.

Stopped in because I've never been to a Sonic before. Of all the burger fast food places, this is the 2nd from the bottom. Only Whataburger is worse. I have had better burgers out of the freezer at the local convenience store. Truly flavorless and dry. Fries were of better quality, but, mediocre nonetheless. Save your $$, don't go here. read more

Food was disgusting cold and stale fries and toke 45 min in a huge line in the drive in. Is not worst the wait the food quality is horrible and the wait no worth it either. read more

After placing our order and waiting about 20 mins, it was delivered to our car. Guess what, as usual, there were multiple things incorrect from what we ordered. Might not be so bad if the receipt had actually been followed. We then had issues restarting our vehicle due to dead battery. Asked the manager if anyone had a set of cables we could borrow and was told "you'll have to wait, it is rush hour". Hate to wonder what the response would have been if there was more than the four cars in the pull ups and two in the reive thru. I understand he may have felt it was busy, but it was a simple question that could have been answered in a few seconds. Customer service is how you keep customers. If management does not understand this, maybe they should be moved to a different role. For the way this whole experience was, I will no longer be a customer of this location. read more

There is a first time for everything as I have never been to a Sonics. I ordered a Chicago dog and found it to be pretty good with a nice jalapeno surprise inside. The prices are very reasonable and I feel the quality was fairly decent, I did sense that the sodium level was high but after all it is fast food. Would I go back? I might, I just wouldn't be in a hurry or go out of my way. read more

Do not come here!!! We waited a half hour for our food and then we're told the slushy machine was broken. Rude staff

I know from past experience at the sonic that they are a little slow. The drive-through is always slow. A couple nights ago I waited perhaps 20 minutes? At the drive-through. I saw another customer drive away in disgust. I would've driven away probably if I hadn't paid and I could get around the other cars. The young man at the window was gamely trying to cope with the situation but it was like he was running the whole restaurant by himself. read more

me and my friends decided that we wanted to take a trip out to sonic after school and the drive was 45-1 hour since we're from worcester. we got there and the employees were nice. we got our food and my friends both got burgers and i wanted to get french toast sticks. we got our food brought out to us because we parked in the stalls. when i got my food the sticks were hard but i didn't know if that was just because they were fried ? when i got home i realized i didn't feel good at all and ended up getting food poisoning and my friend thinks that they were left out from the morning when they served breakfast!! we went at 4:30pm !! read more

I NEVER write yelp reviews and this will be my first one. This Sonic was atrocious. Took the woman 10 mins to even take our order. After taking our order waited 25 mins and still no food. Went back and got a refund. Wasted 35 mins for garbage. read more

Drive thru is a death trap. Service is so slow and you get stuck because people are behind you.

By far the best fast food burgers, 2 people can get 2 burgers and 2 tots for $6. That's less than the price of one value meal at mcdonalds, and better quality food. I love this place. read more

7-21-2010 Lunchtime. Came here for the first time today. Walking across the parking lot I enjoyed watching the waiters on skates (who greeted us!). You see there are 3 ways to dine here: Drive-thru, Drive-up (Think old A&W restraunts; hence the skates.) and Sit down inside and soak up some a/c on a hot day. My friend and I chose to sit inside. It was then we were intro'd to a method of ordering that we'd never done IN a restaurant; a telephone to the kitchen! This had mixed results as there was noise on both ends of the conversation so I'm not totally sold on it's execution. I had the #4 combo: 'Toast' cheeseburger w/ bacon. The picture showed an onion ring in the sandwich; which I mysteriously didn't get. :-( Instead I got an ordinary onion. Cool, but not exactly what I ordered either. The meat was cooked perfectly, there was leafy, non-shreaded iceberg lettuce, sauce and bacon on grilled sandwich bread. A massive old-fashioned burger that was a pleasant change from the McD's, BK's of the world. The fries that came with it were pretty ordinary and not of the modern crispy variety sadly. They were more of the 5-Guys burger shop style; old fashioned, but less grease than that chain. Overall, I enjoyed this place as a kind of retro burger stand. But with a friendly staff who even rollerskates a tray of condiments to your table! Slick. Enjoy, - Partok read more

For years, Sonic has been our guilty fast-food treat when we're on the road and we were super excited when we heard that one would be coming to the Springfield area! We counted down to opening day, then frequently mentioned it when running down the list of new-places-to-try options, but for some reason, we didn't actually get around to going until last night. I don't know whether this location is just not as good as other Sonics, or whether this was an off night, but... we were kind of disappointed. First, the good. The place looks cool...it has plenty of drive-in spots, interior seating (bonus, especially for this part of the country), and even a drive-thru window. In these respects, I would put it a notch above many of the other Sonics we've been to. But the menu was very hard to read (food menu is to the left, shake menu is to the right; would love it if both would be on both sides just for ease of use), the card swipe didn't work and the server confirmed that they've been problematic, and the food was just not up to usual Sonic standards. The burgers were extremely dry, the buns were smashed like a panini, and the tots left substantial grease residue on everything they contacted. Adding to the tot disappointment was that fact that we forgot to order condiments -- heads up that Sonic is not in the habit of offering them, you have to remember to ask. And when I asked what my drink options were with my combo, and the response was "whatever you want." Annoying. Sonic has a gazillion drinks and I'm sure most of them would bring a significant up-charge; I just wanted to know what I could get with my meal for the price on the board. I asked what they had that didn't have caffeine, and after a significant pause, the answer was "Dr Pepper, Root Beer..." ...and then I cut her off because I knew she had it wrong. I wound up with a lemonade (satisfactory in that it lacked caffeine, but it tasted like a crappy powdered mix). I'm sure I just sound like a cranky and finicky customer, but I promise that's not the case! I don't think I've ever had a single complaint about a Sonic, but this experience was just kind of a string of frustrations...the difficulty reading the menu, fighting with the card swipe, trying to get a combo with a caffeine-free drink, the dry, squashed burgers, forgetting to ask for condiments for tots...it just all added up to a big MEH. I'll gladly update this review if future visits warrant more stars. read more

We always see ads for Sonic in RI, yet the closest location is almost two hours away. While traveling for the holidays we decided to stop off in Springfield and see what all the fuss was about. Old fashioned ordering via phone or to your car by a person on rollerblades. We ate inside. Reminded me of an old fashioned A&W. I ordered a chicken sandwich and husband had a burger. Food seemed fresh and tasted better than typical fast food. The vanilla milkshake was full of flavor. I would go back if we are passing by again. Good choice if needing something fast. read more
