They take a ridiculously long time to acknowledge anyone at the drive thru, ignore the car kiosks, the dining room is closed, and 20 minutes after your prepaid web order was supposed to be ready, you will receive the wrong order that is cold after sitting inside on a shelf for 20 minutes while waiting to have a person acknowledge you to give you the food you already paid for. I had never been to Sonic before, but I'd always heard about the chain and seen the commercials--especially the ones with servers on roller skates, which stuck in my mind. Since I was in Springfield and saw there was a location nearby, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The burger was greasy and lacked flavor, and the fries were cold, stale, and tasted like they had been reheated multiple times. This particular sonic was one of the worst ones I've been to. We waited almost 45 minutes for our order after we ordered online. And when the food did arrive, it was not even good. My son and I both ordered the chicken tenders with Texas toast and tater tot's and hubs order three corn dogs. The chicken was very dry and I think I got four or five tater tots. They basically just tossed everything in the bag and it was a mess. Even the corn dogs were dry! I should have taken pictures, but I didn't think to at the time. I have been to other sonic with better experiences, but I don't think I would ever come back to this particular sonic again. The worst part was we were on our way home from picking up our son so he could spend a couple days with us and stopped there simply because we didn't want to take the time to go inside and eat. This location is terrible. Food is always greasy and gives me a stomach-ache. Service is terrible and so slow. I went to a car hop lane the other day and ordered 2 ice cream and a soda and the lady frequently disappeared for 5-10 mins at a time and came back saying "I'm sorry what else?". After finally getting my order in after 30 mins, I then waited another 25 mins for the screen to flash that someone was on the way with my order. Another 25 mins passed and nobody came so I left. Absolutely ridiculous to wait that long for 3 items. The place wasn't that busy, maybe only 2 other cars in the car hop lanes and the drive thru had a few cars consistently. Went to the Sonic on Boston Rd. And this place is in complete disarray. The establishment in itself is falling apart! Only a few of the stalls actually work. The service is slow as ever. I might as well go sit down at a restaurant to wait for my food because it took over a 30 minute wait to get an order I ordered ahead of time online. The app states to pull up to a stall, press the red button, and give the server your name for your online order. However, in doing so no one answered the stall for over 15 minutes. So I had to call the restaurant. The server tells me the order must be picked up by drive through. I go to the drive through and the wait was another 20 minutes at least. Once I received my food, my order was incorrect. I feel there's not enough staff to keep up with demand and the building needs desperately a lot of repairs. read more

I love sonic! I haven't had in forever and was craving it when I found one in Springfield, Massachusetts. I pulled into the spot and press the button knowing exactly what I wanted. Staff went above and beyond to serve me my meal when the electronic systems inside were all down. They took the time and wrote my order down and were able to serve me my food perfectly despite my insisting that I could go somewhere else. Nate the manager was rude and condescending in 3 separate inactions. My brother in law went to pick up a mobile order and we either had to cancel the order (over $70) or pick another fountain drink to sub for the shake; a much lesser value. When he got back we were missing an entire meal. No apologies from Nate when we called and when we asked to have it ready we were told it was a waste of Nate's time and money to have it ready. Since opening about a year ago Sonic has easily become my favorite fast-food restaurant. The food always tastes fresh and authentic. This is real meat, with real cheese on top of it! It's a revelation after being fooled for so many years by the "products" offered by the other "big boys" of the fast food world. And the in-store service is always fast, friendly, and accurate. I won't bore you with what I usually order because it's always some variation of burgers, potato products, chicken, and tasty-flavored soda beverages. Everything is always brought to my table hot, freshly made, and unbelievably tasty. This may not be the case if you're ordering from the drive-thru, as I've experience some inaccuracies there, and the food doesn't survive the car trip home well. But in-store, and I'd assume at the car-hop stations, service is top notch. There's just no reason Sonic isn't your number one fast-food choice in a city like Springfield that's pretty much locked into the McDonalds, Burger King, KFC/Taco Bell triumvirate with few other options. Sure there are the $6 burger places like Five Guys and Jakes, and the "gourmet" joints like Max and Plan B, which offer different dining experiences quick-serve spots can't attain to. But when it comes to true fast food burgers Sonic smokes them all! read more

Positively the WORST service I've ever received! Ordered at the drive through, get to the window and they don't know what we ordered, they acknowledged us over the intercom so they obviously heard us. Gave the order in person at the window and that person acted as if she heard us too. After a while she began handing us drinks we didn't order. After an unusually long time our food came. My burger was completely wrong and my wife's was a pitiful mess, inedible. We hadn't left the window as we checked our order so I managed to get the girl's attention and she ordered me a new burger. After another long wait I was asked to pull around front and she'd bring it out to me. Almost 15 minutes of sitting in wait, I went up and knocked on their locked door. A young man looked at me a few minutes later and waved for me to go to the drive through because the dining room was closed. Aghast I motioned for him to come to the door, and he started to tell me the dining room was closed, to go around to the drive through. I had to TELL HIM that they had sent me around to the front door to wait for a burger that never showed up! After a few more minutes he brought out a replacement AND IT WAS JUST AS WRONG AD THE FIRST ONE! Absolutely out of control incompetence and further more they didn't seem to care. Food was great as always. The service is friendly and quick. The value of the food is great. That new queso burger is amazing. You know what isn't? 3 of the 4 employees I saw were either not wearing their masks properly or not at all. This is food service in the middle of the worst wave of a pandemic. This is unacceptable and these employees need to get a clue. Congratulations, you work with the public and interacting with hundreds of people a day and you aren't wearing your masks properly.
