Challenging ordering through the Sonic app so had to order at the parking stall. Ice cream received was very unappealing with a cup of vanilla ice cream with small chocolate chunks on top supposedly for a Turtle version of a concrete mixer except it wasn't mixed. No hot fudge or caramel toppings in the ice cream which I expected. Asked to add bananas (which was shown on the app) but they had none. The other mixer was requested with Reeces and Heath bar. Similar with just pieces of candy on the top. Won't order ice cream again at Sonic. read more

30 minutes for an order of cheddar peppers and a Coke Zero. Ordered in the app, checked in when I pulled up. 10 minutes later, disappeared. Hit the red button, "what's the name for it?" Gave name. "That'll be right out." 15 minutes later, still not out. Hit the red button again. Placed the same order at the speaker. Hit "pay cash" button at the end. Order gets delivered and carhop is very confused. Manager arrives. I show her the app, the excuse is "they're all new and not trained." Then you shouldn't be open, should you? This location was clean and busy when I arrived. The car hops were very busy moving around the restaurant. The stall I was in registered my order quickly, and I was able to watch its progress thru the kitchen. The car hop who delivered my drink was very polite. My half tea/half lemonade tasted great! This sonic location struggles with efficiency and accuracy of orders. In the multiple times we have tried this location, our orders have been wrong several times. We have been given completely different items from what we ordered (for example, I've ordered a chicken sandwich and received a grilled cheese). They do remedy the order, but it takes a while to correct and it seems ridiculous that this continues to happen multiple times. In addition, it takes a long time for food to come out. We have waited up to 20 minutes for a simple order of two cheeseburgers with fries and a drink when ordering on a Friday night. This completely undermines the concept of "fast food". Food quality is fair: it's a standard fast food chain, so nothing to write home about. Unless you just order drinks, skip this one and go further down I-35 to the jarrell location, where your order is guaranteed to come out quickly AND correctly! read more

I'm blunt with reviews but the burger I had from there last night, I had threw it up while taking a shower, that was just unacceptable for me, I've been going to that sonic for years. Service was pretty good though, server was very friendly. And the ambiance was still the same as ever. Don't be fooled by their posted hours or lights, they close an hour earlier than what they have listed. We sat in the parking lot deciding what to order, watched another car get their order and waited 5 mins for our order to be taken. Then the manager came out at 10 on the dot and informed us they changed their hours today, although there was no indication other than his obvious desire to not work, and that they were closed an hour early. We spend around $40 a week on after school snacks and drinks at Sonic, now we won't be doing that any longer. Add them to the list of god awful customer service with Bush's. If you wonder why Salado doesn't support Salado, this is a prime example why. read more

This location is on the west side of IH 35 north of Austin; it's a little tricky to get to with the two way access roads, but no biggie. There's no drive thru service here as is common in newer restaurants; rather, it's just the traditional "drive in" service. We ordered a Route 44 drink and burger; the burger was fresh and hot, but was missing the requested ketchup. Still, not a bad place to grab a bite if you're in the area. read more

We stopped at this Sonic location while traveling back to Austin. This is just like any one of your typical Sonic restaurants, so there isn't much to say about that or their food (which is still deliciously fattening). My only complaint is about the service. While giving our order, the girl taking our order had an attitude when we didn't understand the question she was asking us. Instead of clarifying herself or giving us the options she was waiting for us to choose from, she just decided to raise her voice at us and ask "WHICH ONE?" That's very poor form in my book. At least the other girl delivering our food was very nice & friendly to us, but I'm going to have to give this Sonic a 2 out of 5 stars because of the sour pus employee we encountered. read more

I am extremely frustrated with this sonic. I have been to multiple Sonics and all I want is a SHAKE NOT A BLAST with Butterfinger, this is the only one who has a problem making it that way. All I want is to not have to wait 45 minutes for it to melt enough to get though a straw. I don't understand why it's so hard to do that. One of the 2 fast food places in Salado. So, they're hit or miss. It usually depends on the time of day you go. Schools get out at 3:30 ish, so go some time before after to get your food quickly. We've always gotten our food hot and as ordered. The one time it wasn't, it was easy to fix. read more

Sonic- cold drinks, good service, and great ice treats???? No- not at this place. The service is horrible, they didn't know what drinks were which so they tasted it for us to figure it out... Then they charged me for water but only gave me one of the two I ordered. We ordered cheesecake bites got two of the 5 that come with it, and the sundaes that we ordered, it was only half full in the cup not full like they normally have them at sonic. Cold burger, had too much mustard on it. Shake was thin and melting. I go there because it's convenient and there is not another burger joint in town that is open after 5. Its not worth the price at this Sonic. read more
