I had never been to sonic before but I feel like I did it wrong. I got a burger which was okay, I did like the fries a lot which were crinkle and crispy. I think I should've tried their speciality drink and make it dirty with the cream. I think that would have elevated the experience. Or a milkshake as my boyfriend says, to pair with his burger--he would've liked it more. It was good for being fast food but wasn't blown away after having high expectations. Also the drive up booths stressed me out they were so tight to pull into. But it's cute how they bring you your order and you press the button when you're ready. Overall it was fun but I feel like I need a do-over with the menu. read more

This place is absolutely terrible, ordered from them one week and they forget all the drinks we ordered. Ordered from them tonight and got a triple burger, some degenerate employee who stacks burgers for a living decided they wanted to be funny and squished up my patties and threw it in the box with the rest of the burger magically neatly stacked, didn't just slide out...the lettuce and pickles were meticulously placed with the top bun covering it all perfectly while the patties where quashed and tossed in the side, do not go to this place, either stop by the Wendy's next door or one of the many other places on route one, especially if you haven't eaten all day after working a 11 hour shift in the sun and didn't want to cook, save yourself the aggrevation DO NOT GO HERE. We opted to go inside cause it's hard for everyone to read the full menu from the car. Although they do have a lobby, it was clear that it wasn't a priority. The electronic menu didn't work and nobody was based at the cash register. If one of the runners from out back noticed you standing at the counter, ask if you knew what you wanted while they were dashing in/out to a car. All the tables could have used a wipe down. One had some kind of dressing drizzled on the floor underneath. The food itself had it's ups and downs. My son enjoyed his mozzarella sticks. His Sonic blast didn't have too many pieces of cookie dough in it. It was all on the top of it. We were expecting more of a blend, judging by the pictures. My daughter's chicken sandwich was mid, absolutely nothing special. I actually really enjoyed my double smash burger. I'd get that again for sure. My tator tots could have used a couple more seconds in the fryer, but they were fine to eat. I know it's fast food, so I'm not looking for a gourmet experience, but I do think a few easy adjustments can be made to make this place better. read more

I am usually not a fan of Sonic, as I feel like the food is mediocre and slightly overpriced for what you get. Although, when I heard that Sonic had paired with Grillo's Pickles to launch the "Big Dill Meal" in the summer of 2025, I knew I had to try it. I went to the Sonic in Peabody on Route 1. Like most things off of Route 1, it's hard to get to if you're not on the correct side of the road. I parked and ordered through their touch-screen kiosk: the Big Dill Sonic Smasher, dill pickle seasoned tots, and the picklerita slush. The food arrived in about average time and I ate it in my car, true Sonic style. The double patty burger had two slices of American cheese, dill pickle-seasoned crispy cucumbers, dilly ranch, Grillo's Pickle Chips, and fresh lettuce on a potato bun. I wouldn't say the pickle flavoring was that strong but I knew it was there. The Grillo's Pickle seasoning really came through on the seasoned tots, which were hot and crispy. Finally, the picklerita slush was a tart and sweet slush made with a blend of pickle juice and tart lime, Pickle Juice Flavor Bubbles, and topped with a Grillo's Pickle Chip. This was so interesting - you got the sweetness first but then the after taste was the pickle juice. The popping bubbles provided further blasts of pickle juice in your mouth. I kinda loved it. This was only a seasonal promotion but I wouldn't hesitate to go for round two if it comes around again next summer at Sonic. read more

I love that you can drive up, old school, order your food and they bring it out to you...great for lazy people like me. Haha! I got a Butter Garlic Bacon burger that came with grilled onions. I think a lot of people would give umbrage to giving Sonic 5 stars, but man...being right next to my hotel with fast food to whet my late night cravings just influences my opinion. I ended up getting hot dogs, corn nuggets, burgers, fries, tater tots, and smoothies during my trip here and they all definitely hit the spot. I was able to just walk over and order from the little outdoor kiosk. Employees were friendly and the food came out relatively quickly. Is it fine dining? Of course not. this was my first time trying sonic and I am disappointed. the food did not come out hot it came out warm as if it was under a heating lamp. and personally I don't think the food had any salt or seasonings even the tots had no salt.. there is no self serve station for straws, napkins or condiments therefore relying on a worker. its very quite and clean in the restaurant. But that was not to be, as the skating car hops were sadly released from service before we got there shortly before 8:30pm one Saturday night. So, instead of ordering in the car, or out at their patio, we headed on in to peruse their menu and to place it at one of two lonely computer registers by their enclosed kitchen. Not particularly hungry, we split a combo. Since we wanted a shake (a large one), rather than the default combo option from the soda fountain, we had to upgrade the combo, but that was sufficient. The Cheeseburger Medium Combo $7.79 +1.59 Large Combo upgrade +2.90 shake upgrade = 12.09, plus tax. A large shake is $6.49 vs $3.59 for a large fountain drink. Other than being generous with the pickles, the cheeseburger didn't stand out in any other way. The strawberry shake was thick and dense and had some satisfying bits of fruit, but I didn't really sense the malt that had been requested. But one annoying thing they do is they advertise specials on TV and when you get there you're told that you have to order them on the app to get them. I don't believe that is stated in the commercials or if it is it must be in little tiny print in the corner of the TV screen. I went through the drive-thru and it was pretty fast, especially for a Friday night. I had seen the ads for the grilled cheese hamburger and fell for it. Oops, that's on me. I ordered that, a side of tots and the strawberry cheesecake shake. The shake was definitely the best part of the meal. Really decadent and yummy. The tots were fine - nothing special.
