The Super Roast Beef on an onion bun with French fries.
    Todd A.

I don't know how many locals I've asked for sandwich shop recommendations but at least half of them have told me I've "gawta try tha beef at Bill & Bob's ova in Woo-buhn". Located half a mile from my apartment and nestled right on Main Street, it's impossible to miss the big signage anytime I leave home. In fact, my eyes drifted to it every time I drove past, beckoning me to stop in and see if the hype is justified. Well, yesterday and I did and I can now confirm that yes, the hype has real merit to it. Greeted by an enthusiastic woman who could almost instantly tell I was a recent transplant to the Boston suburb, I was informed that B&B's had "been in business for 60 years, 48 of'em at this location". She offered to take my order and I suggested she order for me; I wanted to try the signature dish, the beef that kept the doors open for six decades and counting. "That would be the roast beef sandwich of course." They offered "Supah, Big, and Junya". The optional toppings list was as long as my arm (literally something for everyone) and again I suggested "the standard". Naturally I opted for the super topped with hot, melty cheese and barbecue sauce served on an onion bun with the diner staple side of fries and a Diet Pepsi for dining-in. While I waited we talked about where I came from, what brought me to the area, etc. and the conversation felt genuine and natural. This wonderful woman loved her job and loved the idea of making sure the customer felt appreciated and it showed. She was patient, unbothered, interested, and interesting. Soon enough, a matter of a few minutes, my hot sandwich and golden fries were on a tray in front of me waiting to be devoured. I was told I could eat at the tables right inside the door or upstairs in the dining room. I chose to take the steps and walked into a roomy yet cozy space aligned with booths, tables, and a window side bar. Within seconds I was unwrapping the butcher's paper and taking my first bite. "Hot beefy bliss". No, that's not a line from a smut novel, but my instant reaction. All of a sudden I understood why some people have such a strong distaste for Arby's and Walmart staple Raybern's third tier sandwiches. The meat was roasted to perfection; nowhere close to over done and slightly pink in some spots with the perfect degree of saltiness and depth. The cheese had melted over the top of the meat pile like a savory blanket of coziness. The tangy barbecue sauce sealed the deal with its mouthwatering blend of spices and the ideal amount of heat. The onion bun was soft and fluffy, flawlessly steamed to the perfect temp and density. Each individual flavor stood out on its own, the beef stealing the show, yet somehow combined to create a scrumptious feasting experience unlike any other. I was converted on the first bite and right then and there Arby's became a thing of the past. The fries. Holy mother of all things deep fried, the fries were absolutely phenomenal. Everything a person would want and expect in the quintessential French fry was present. Golden, standard cut potato sticks that were crispy on the outside (you could hear the crunch when you took a bite) and as soft as fluffy cloud on a summer day underneath the blonde outer shell. I had already got my ketchup sprinkled with pepper all set up and ready to go and ended up finish the whole order before I realized I hadn't even touched it. They didn't need any help Portion sizes were well worth the price and more than enough to fill me up. I finished because I wanted more, not because I was still hungry. There are several local spots on my radar, but I already know I'll be back to visit Bill & Bob before I check them all off my list. My only complaint is that I didn't remember the name of the woman who took my order and made me feel like I was at home with friends. As much as the food speaks for itself it always helps to be accommodated by a hospitable employee who strives to make the experience memorable and she did just that. Great first experience dining in the town of Woburn and the other locals now have a high standard to live up to.

Super roast beef on an onion roll with sauce and american chesse

Starting visiting Bill and Bobs in the early 80's ( I'm getting old ) and I can't complain- my super beef has been constant. This cold night visit I went to the drive thru Ordered a regular roast beef sandwich and a super beef with sauce and American cheeses and onion rings and a small black raspberry shake If you like a roast beef sandwich give them a try- they have locations in Woburn Salem and Peabody

Intended to go to Salem location but mistakenly punched in Woburn. Enjoyed my Super Beef Three Way.

    Super Beef? I think not!

Wow have times changed. Was my go to place when I worked in Woburn in the 80's. Now hit it up a couple of times a year. The sandwich was comically scrawny and perhaps 1/3 of the amount of meat you'd get from most other shops with a super beef. Won't mention the other places since this is more about the fall of B & B. Also forgot requested sauce on the side in the bag. A sad day indeed. Pizza rolls were solid but the place is not called Bill & Bob's pizza rolls now is it. A picture is worth a thousand words :(

We walked into a comfortable space with a relaxed vibe that never feels generic, the kind of spot where you can settle in for a meal or grab something quickly without the atmosphere working against you. The Vietnamese bowl is the order that brings everything together well. We tried it and the flavors were bright and balanced, leaning into the fresh herb and citrus notes that make Vietnamese inspired food work when the kitchen takes it seriously. The bowl format here gives you enough going on across the components that each bite shifts slightly, which kept the meal interesting from start to finish in a way that a simpler dish would not. The broader menu is worth exploring beyond a single visit. The shakshuka and acai bowl are both good, the smash burger salad is a surprisingly strong order for anyone who wants something more indulgent, and the vegan options are extensive and genuinely well executed rather than feeling like an afterthought. The smoothies are popular for good reason and the coffee holds up as well. Pricing runs on the higher side and the menu does not always list prices upfront on site, which is worth being aware of before you commit to a larger order. Service is generally attentive and fast, though it can vary by location and shift.

It's a small spot with an authentic, no-frills atmosphere--the kind of place that's clearly been around for a while, in the best possible way. You can feel the history in the walls, but it's clean, well-kept, and inviting. The staff is helpful and genuinely accommodating. Service feels personal, like they actually care whether or not you enjoy your meal (which, frankly, you will). The pizza hits all the right notes--crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and cheese that's properly melty without being overdone. It's straightforward, high-quality pizza, and exactly what you hope for when you walk in. The steak bomb sandwich is loaded with perfectly cooked, tender meat--no shortcuts here. It's filling, flavorful, and made like someone in the back really knows what they're doing. The spicy fries are golden, crisp, and seasoned just enough to be interesting without going overboard. The only reason it's not a full five stars is the pricing--it's on the higher end for a local pizza place. Not outrageous, but definitely noticeable. That said, the quality makes a strong case for itself. In short: Andrea's is a neighborhood staple with great food, an honest atmosphere, and people who clearly take pride in what they do. Worth the visit, and then some.

So I get a large Chip's Tip sub and a few pastries for snacks. The bill was steep for what I got but I thought it would be worth it for my son to try the sub. After getting it, we split the sub and ate it in the car. Let me tell you that this was not the same steak tip I remembered. It was so bad, we tossed it in the garbage at the gas station next door. The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. I know a lot of people will swear by their steak tip subs and that is great but it's just not for me anymore.
