I ordered two meals on the app to pick up on the way home tonight. Get there right when I said I would, hit the arrived button, food comes right out, delivered by a smiling young man. Awesome right?!? Drive the 3-4 miles home and as we unpack our bag of food wife notices her cheeseburger has no burger. We pack up the food and head back the 3-4 miles hoping to exchange for a new meal. NOPE! All she can offer is to remake the imaginary cheeseburger. I verify her response with her and then accept what little she can do. They promptly bring out another cheeseburger and we drive the 3-4 miles back home. Microwave our original order and eat nuked fast food. I would understand only replacing the imaginary cheeseburger at a sit down restaurant, but when the meal is take out, the whole meal should be remade so everyone is eating warm food. When I asked her the owners phone number, she told me to look it up! Am I wrong here? Both Newton locations have gone down hill the last three years. read more

this Sonic is near my house and I use it often. I order on the app and frequently get items fresh and how I ordered.

Went through the drive thru and ordered crispy chicken and onion rings. Both were over cooked, which I wouldn't have been happy about, but would have eaten the food, but it had been fried in old and burnt oil that had a horrible taste. I couldn't eat the food. Called the manager and politely gave her my complaint. All she could say was " sorry about that honey" not how can we make this right, or thank you for the information, the oil will be changed as soon as possible. The manager of this sonic completely treats his staff terribly. Why are the servers always cranky? Because their boss doesn't care what they have going on personally. Had a friend who was a cook, whose father passed away, Ty didn't want her to go to the funeral because she was scheduled to work. Are you kidding me? Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention that NONE of them are trained according to OSHA standards. When I worked there, I was forced to sign a paper saying he had given me the proper training. It's not that the employees don't care about the customer, it's that the boss doesn't care for the employees and it's reflected in their work. Maybe pay your workers more than $6.25/hour and they'd care more. Just a thought. read more

I hope this Sonic has an opportunity to share their expertise with other Sonic managers. I'm such a fan of this Sonic because their employees are friendly and customer service oriented. It's not about what their limitations are, its about how to take care of a customer - no matter what the hour. They've hired some new folks that are a little green, but I'm sure that they'll take on the same customer culture soon that the business has always had. It's a fluke to have a car hop with an attitude. I hope the previous poster shared a little positivity that day. Got a bag of ice, found a hair in it. Strike one. Got a hotdog, found paint chips in it. Strike two. I'm not brave enough to stick around for strike three, but if you are, I can at least say from experience that management will totally refund you if whatever you find in your meal is 'over the line' for you, and the food usually tastes good, despite the extra ingredients, lol. My wife and I went here for breakfast. When it came out, we discovered that my wife did not receive what she ordered. When we politely asked to have it corrected, the carhop got an attitude and told us it would be awhile before it could be corrected. After waiting for 10 minutes we left. The food we received minus the incorrect item was good, the service was terrible. read more
