Burgers and fries are waaaay too salty. Fries are short and stubby, oily, not crispy enough. The garlic parmesan seasoning on them was nasty, way too heavy. We tossed most of them in the trash. Beef tasted nothing like the steak burgers I know and love (like Freddy's). They don't even smash the beef on the grill. Prices are on the high side. Girl working drive thru spoke so terribly I could not understand a word she said. The only positive thing I can say about this place is it has cool neon signage and 50's diner atmosphere. Great service and good food! It stays open late so that was good. We were hungry and on our way back to the hotel.

Every time I pass by a Spangles I am intrigued by the buildings, the colors of lights and just the Ole fashion Diner Look. I had the regular Ole Fashion Cheeseburger with fries and an order of onion rings. I was not disappointed. The burger was exactly what I was expecting, just a yummy flat griddle burger with all the fixings. I was amazed that they don't serve mayo but the do have a mayo/ honey mustard that was interesting and was great with the onion rings. The onion rings were really the star of the show, beautifully made, fresh and hot, seasoned perfectly! read more

Just moved to the area, decided to have burger and fries, The burger was cooked until hard and crusty the onions were old! There were maybe three pieces of shredded lettuce and the pickles were all shoved over and slid off - the onions! The red onions! You can tell when they're old and you can tell when the meat is not good they overcook it! It's too bad because we were craving cheeseburgers and french fries and had many choices - unfortunately we chose the Park City Spangles. read more

What a cool upbeat place! Fun atmosphere and good food - I would rather eat here than the tired old Wendy's or Cracker Barrel for sure. We stopped on a road trip...after miles and miles of passing over truck stops and it was past 9:45pm. The menu is simple yet covers all the bases - burgers, fries, breakfast items, shakes and a few sandwiches. They even have mini donuts! The ambience is a bright and cheerful 50's diner with neon decor, great old music and lots of John Wayne and Elvis memorabilia on the walls. A full sized Marilyn statue and one of Elvis greet you as you enter...what's not to love about that kind of welcome?! We shared a turkey on sourdough and it was delightful! Generous amounts of turkey and hot wing sauce (tangy & yummy) on the side. Definitely hit the spot! Fries were crisp and fresh and the shakes were great too. Overall this was a FABULOUS stop for a late-evening dinner at a throwback diner with good food fast. read more

This spangle is near my home and so I eat have eat here several times and never had a problem.. This is one of the smallest fast food chains and is only in Kansas, but for a fast food place its beats all the other guys in my book. Bigger Burgers, Pitas, sourdough sandwichs, even breakfast selections all day. I love my breakfast, most places stop severing it about 10:30 in the morning so I like that a lot. They have a Ham and cheese omelets all day that I get quite often. The regular breakfast menu is quite impressive also. Their bacon is very thin but that the only thing I can say neg about the breakfast. I love the Burgers and Sourdough sandwiches also. The burgers are old fashion size burgers, not like the shrunk down one you normally find at fast food places. Try the philly cheese sometime too. I use to live in Philly and this is not the same but I like them a lot anyway. They have all kinds of selections for your drinks and if you need to cool off, try a mudslide or cyclones. I eat here too often and have had very few problems. If there is a problem they give it their full attention to correct. For fast food, it was a cool place and pretty good. Basically it's styled as a diner, but is more on the fast food spectrum. Expect all kinds of '50's kitsch, related to music, movies and cars. They do serve breakfast, and that is what we stopped in for. I opted for the bagel, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with sausage, along with the side of hash browns in 'tot' style form. The sandwich was served up piping hot, and the eggs appeared to be freshly cooked, not the pre-made circular egg like product at other chains. Topped off with a little hot sauce, and it was a filling and tasty breakfast. Washed down with one of their orange juice slushies, it was a filling, quick meal. I'd stop in again. read more

Spangles...ah my trip to Wichita....one of the finer pleasures of the trip. I enjoyed a wide array of food items, and in particular, was pleased that they offered 24 hour breakfast--although some breakfast items were limited after official breakfast hours. I really enjoyed the sourdough burger. It was truly delicious. The fries were frech and the drinks were great! I did not get a dessert as I was absolutely full. I enjoyed the period setting--a setting that included many 1950s items--from vintage actor/actress photos to old cameras and radios--and you know that '57 Chevy don't you? Here you get value, good service, good food, and fun for your money. Highly recommended--it's just a shame that there are none in Kansas City, MO. read more

By Mike Thayer Spangles is a burger chain unique to Kansas. Don't waste time on a McDonald's find a Spangles instead. You'll be glad you did. The burger setup: 1/3 pound cheeseburger, served with mustard, ketchup, pickle and onions on a butter toasted sesame seed bun. The first bite: When a Spangles employee announces over the intercom, "(Insert your name here), your order is fresh and ready," they mean it. The burger and fries were indeed served hot, fresh and ready. The first bite of burger was a very nice, savory bite, with the seasoning on the patty really hitting the yum factor. The brain was saying, "hurry up and take another bite!" Nicely balanced, the burger to bun ratio is spot on and the condiments do what they are supposed to do, compliment. If there's to be a knock, Spangles could put some bigger sized red onion slices on the sandwich, I only got two very small ones. Overall, a darn good burger. Spangles fries are very good! They are the standard size/cut fries (McDonald's/Burger King style for comparison), the portion was not too big, not too small. Seasoned well, the fries had that light crunch on the outside but tender potato on the inside that you're looking for. Additional seasoning is available. It was a very pleasant dining experience. The 1950's decor is interesting to look at, the service was accommodating and timely, the place was clean, the price was right (cheeseburger, fries and a drink for under $7). Simply put, Spangles puts out a very good burger and fries, basket style. Spangles gets 4 out of 5 Metro Pursuit stars: Don't bother with McDonald's, Spangles outperforms them. read more

Like eating food from the Matrix. It looks like food, is hot like food but tastes like cardboard. No flavor. Something went wrong in the replication. The waitstaff are also creepily close to the uncanny valley of nearly human. They do have the "50's" decor, which I suppose is supposed to transport you back to a time when their food wasnt all frozen and had some kind of appeal. They are absolutely everywhere around here so they apparently do a good amount of business. I have no desire to be back though. read more

Probably my favorite of he fast food places to ever eat at, Spangles has only one downfall- they are a bit more pricy than a typical fast food experience is expected to be. That being said, their French fries (crispy hot goodness) are exceptional, their gyros basically make me salivate at the thought and their desert menus is superb. read more
