This sandwich was SMALLER than a small HOTDOG from the grocery store. Lets not talk about out of 6 staff in the kitchen ONLY ONE had any type of hair covering on. Drive thru. About 1:30, not busy. Last time was bad, several months ago. Dbl cb and chili cheese dog. Both with extra onions. Would give 0 if I could. TERRIBLE!!! Both seemed to be made out of rubber. Very tough and chewy. Couldn't even chew hot dig up enough to swallow. Took a bite of burger. Not only was it rubbery. Had the worst smell, like the meat was going bad. Smell made me gag. Neither had extra onions on it. Was not even listed on he receipt. TOTAL WASTE OF $11.00. Never again will I spend there. previous visit it was burnt. hard and chewey. filled out their form. very nice man called this morning. very apologetic and going to make it right. thank you, dog n shake. very much appreciated. I don't know what people's "beef" is with Dog N Shake. I don't live in the area, but have family here and been visiting all my life. My sister works in the area and I wanted to meet her and my nephew for lunch, little dude chose this place. I haven't been since I was a kid. I swear, the prices haven't changed. Neither have the dogs. My sister ordered the cheeseburger meal with crinkle fries, little dude got the kids meal with a hot dog, and I ordered a hot dog with onion rings. And then we shared. It was a good way to try what they've got. The buns are soft and toasted, the meat was juicy, the crinkle fries were crisp, and those onion rings rock! A loaded dog comes with mustard, relish, and onion. Wich is clearly stated. It is a simple yet tasty hot dog. The burger was juicy and good sized. And again, those onion rings stole the show. We had two adult meals and a kids meal for under $20. It is an old establishment with no frills. The service is friendly and the good will fill you up. You're not going to get a fancy dog here. Just a good one at a good price. And don't forget the rings!! read more

I haven't had Dog-N-Shake since I was a young lad. It's always so great to revisit old memories. Like going to the 9/11 Museum. I got 2(Two) Corndogs and a chocolate shake. I've always appreciated how doggy the corn dogs are at Dog-N-Shake. My wife's not as big of a fan of doggy as I am, so she got the cheeseburger. Burger was good. hot dog was worst I've ever had. extremely tough and rubbery. hard to take a bite. ended upbin trash. too chewey and hard to eat. they were extremely busy so thought food would be fresh and good. Just left the drive thru 8pm on a Sunday night, we had the absolute pleasure of being served and greeted by the employee, Tomi. She had the best attitude, was very attentive, TRIPLE checked that everything was in our bag for our order and gave us all the condiments we asked for PLUS some. She made us laugh harder than we have this entire week and genuinely made the experience worth everything. I love the food here and always have, but we have not been to a dog n shake in over a year because the service has always been just sub-par. After tonight's experience with Tomi, me and my girlfriend will be returning here regularly... i highly recommend not only just for the food, but the amazing people behind the counter making it as well. read more

I wanted to go to dog n' shake and expected big portions. Their portions are midget size. My philly cheese steak was on a hotdog bun. My burger was the size of a small cup lid. The food tastes good but could have gotten a lot more food elsewhere for the money spent. Did somebody decide that cost cutting was a good idea? read more

Ever since I was a little kid this place has been a go-to for food. The fries are definitely my favorite out of any place I've visited. It's a great little spot to stop to every once in a while! I've never had an issue with any customer service, they've always been friendly and welcoming. Next time you pass by the place, give them a shot! read more

When & Why? That's all I really want to know. When and why did you decide to switch to low cost, low quality ingredients? Was it to improve profits? Surely, surely it hasn't been this way since 1948. I'm rather positive frozen crinkle fries and generic great value patties weren't around back then, Right? You could be so much more. You could be a Wichita milestone. Fresh, local ingredients all around, creamy non powder tasting shakes, etc etc, you could have a loyal fan base that would find themselves happy to support a local business. Anymore you're just a fast food hole that isn't a major corporation with national brand recognition. Burger King? McDonalds? Dog N Shake? Meh. Lets go with the former, their preservatives taste better. You're a step above a tv dinner and a step below mass produced cookie cutter chains. Good Job. If anything, anything at all, I admire your recent trend in offering monthly, limited time only hot dogs. I'm forced to think this idea came from the vast wiener menu offerings at And The Wiener Is. However, thats only going to get you so far. You will run out of ideas, You will run out of clever puns to put on your letter signs. Who cares if you've been in business since 1948 if your food is terrible and overpriced? My wife and I took our two daughters to a Dog-N-Shake near our house. We were very disappointed. The hot dogs "combo" was $4.99 and came with two hot dogs, a handful of fries and a small drink. My wife and I were kind of expecting, you know, good hot dogs at a place whose name implies they know good hot dogs. They don't. The hot dogs they serve here are very, very thing and are not all-beef. Their taste is on par with the hot dogs you get at Wal-Mart for 88 cents for a pack of 8. When asked if my wife wanted "everything" on her dogs, she said yes, thinking "everything" meant the same there here that it does at other hot dog joints -- ketchup mustard, onions, relish and cheese. Nope. "Everything" at a Dog-N-Shake means mustard and a squirt of relish. Our daughters got corn dogs which were $1.99 each and smaller than any corn dog we've ever ordered for them in the past (and they get corn dogs alot). One was overcooked and the breading was pretty crunchy and dark, dark brown. Yuck. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo, which cost five something. What I got was your standard run-of-the-mill restaurant supply bulk-boxed chicken patty on a bun with no toppings. I had to go back up and ask for lettuce and tomato. Nothing spectacular and, once again, overpriced. I'm not sure how Dog-N-Shake has remained in business for so long and been able to open multiple locations. We'll never go again, that's for sure. read more

Dog-n-Shake has been serving up burgers, hot dogs, etc to Wichita for over 50 years. The fact that Dog-n-Shake has survived in the market for half a century speaks volumes about it's business sense and quality. The double cheeseburgers are served on toasted buns with a mustard onion/pickle relish and while are a little smaller than the typical burger, are actually just the right size. The crinkle fries are reliably tasty and crisp. BUT the real star on the menu are the onion rings which are hand dipped in a flour batter. Our experience was awful! We ordered the Dog and Cheeseburger combo, with a side order of onion rings. The hot dog looked like it had been on a rotisserie for hours, the bun was dried out as well. The onion rings were very thin, and about like eating chips, they were so thin. And even the drink was watered down. We definitely won't be back! read more

This place has been a Wichita staple before I was born. The restaurant atmosphere is nothing fancy, neither are the crinkle cut fries. The dogs are awesome on their toasted buns with a sprinkle of celery salt on the top. The fries get tasty when you top them with cheese and the onion rings are fabulous. First time in a Dog-N-Shake (and I grew up here). I gave it two stars because it has friendly staff and it is quite clean. The food is mediocre at best. I ordered a "limited time" fish combo. The fish sandwich was small and needed twice as much tartar sauce. (later in the day I was still hungry for fish and got one at Arby's...bigger, tastier, and cost less). The crinkle fries were dry and crunchy and badly needed some salt. I think I could go to any fast food restaurant in town and get a better sandwich at a lower price. I won't be back. read more

I've always loved Dog and Shake and this one is no different the staff is polite and helpful. My favorite is the number 1, double cheeseburger, fries and a coke. I also like their chili dog and their tater tot's. As far as drinks I like their cherry limeade's and their shakes. read more
