My daughter got the sirloin and again it tasted like a dirty grill, came with green beans that were sweet like thy put sugar in it with a bacon taste. I wouldn't bother stopping at this location. We sat down, ordered waters and a cocktail. It took asking twice to get the glasses of water. We ordered the onion rings and they were fine. Hard to find the onion for the breading. We added chicken fried chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. They have changed the way they make the green beans and they were awful. Mushy and had a odd taste. Too much garlic and sugar? The chicken fried chicken has so much breading on it that it made it near impossible to find the chicken. The gravy was also thick and unimpressive. The 4 piece fish and chip lunch special which came with fries wasn't good either. Same reason as the other items. Way too much breading on the white fish. The fries were soggy as well. We were in on Friday, June 26th between 5:00 and 5:30 PM. They didn't have a lot of patrons at that time, but everyone was running. Our waitress was a little overwhelmed at first and we started to feel a bit worried. First we were seated and it took almost five minutes before she acknowledged us, then she took the drink orders, the Strawberry Lemonade is wonderful with fresh strawberries, which is a little difficult at first to drink because they give you small straws and the fresh fruit clogged them up. That wasn't too much of a problem because the waitress kept forgetting to bring us straws. The food was OK, I can't say wonderful but it was OK. The hamburger was good sized and a nice plate of fries. The chicken with pico served over rice had a good flavor but was overcooked and dry. Luckily they served with a dipping sauce that helped moisten the bites. Overall the meal was average, nothing that took it over the top, but they didn't do enough bad to take it down either. We have eaten there several times in the past, and the one thing that I have noticed every time is the food has been over cooked. The bourbon Salmon has a very good flavor, but dry and overcooked. I don't know if this is from sitting until pick up, or if it was forgotten on the flat top for too long. We came out full, with some leftovers my daughter ate later that night, I am sure we will go back in the future, hopefully it isn't overdone next time. read more

I don't think the manager or some of our help could've cared less if we were walking in to the restaurant. We waited and waited and waited for somebody to come and see us. She finally came and she was rolling silverware back in the kitchen. The host and then we ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender came ask us what to drink at the time. we are just sit down so I was having some water. She said she would be back never came back so we left and before I left, I asked to speak to the manager. We called ahead, but they don't take reservations. However they would put us on their list for 12 people for a birthday dinner. Told them we would be there at 5. Got there at 4:45 and checked in. When my daughter got there at 5, they told her we were checked in and it would be 20 min. Meanwhile dozens of people were coming in and getting seated within minutes. Finally, about 5:30, my daughter checked and they said no large tables were available yet. They don't have large tables, they put tables together and they had empty tables they could have put together. I finally asked to see the manager about 6. She gave me a story about 20 people being seated on the other side and they had been there 2 1/2 hrs. and some were leaving, but they were waiting on the rest to leave, so they could clear the tables and seat us. Finally my husband went over there and only two were left at one table on the end, so he started putting 3 tables seating 4 ea. together and putting menus down they had given him. A server said, you can't do that, so my husband just threw the menus down on the tables and left. Then at 6:30, the manager said, we cannot serve you tonight. Originally I was going to eat at Cracker Barrel, but then I decided to try something new. Glad I did ! I ordered the fried chicken and shrimp platter, which comes with two sides. I picked the macaroni and cheese and the broccoli cheddar casserole. I loved the shrimp- it was juicy on the inside and the beer batter was perfectly fried. The Fried chicken strips were okay- a little dry on the inside. The macaroni and cheese was ok - on par with average places. The broccoli cheddar casserole was awesome- it had great flavor and texture. One of my friends is vegetarian and he really enjoyed it as well. I forgot to mention that when you get seated they serve you freshly made croissants with a honey butter on top. Prices are good based on food quality quantity. read more

I just don't get all the bad reviews. I've visited often, and never had a bad experience. Maybe it's the time of day, or something, who knows. Anyway, we've always had good service and food at Cheddar's. The menu is varied enough for every taste, and if you want a drink with dinner, there is plenty from which to choose. I know, lol, but really...you hang out with two grands who are 6 and 3 and you get to experience a LOT of places chicken "nuggets." And you might laugh at a review that mentions chicken tenders, but it was close to my MIL's fried chicken--and that's a compliment! Horrible! Horrible! Horrible on all accounts. For starters, the restaurant had maybe 10 people sitting at tables; therefore, the restaurant was empty but we waited 15 mins to be seated, despite inquiring twice. We asked for a table for 5 but got initialing seated at a table for 2. When we asked for a bigger table, it took another 7 minutes to be reseated...despite restaurant being basically empty. Next up the service..waited 12+ minutes for someone to come take our drink order...did I mention the restaurant was still empty? Then we had to ask 3 times for refills before the waitress even came back to take our food order. Restaurant was still non-busy so it wasn't a short staff/busy night situation. We asked for rolls and, after another 15 minutes or so, waitress said they ran out. How can you run out of a staple like the hot, buttered warm rolls? So sad as this was always the best thing on the menu. We asked twice for silverware before I finally went and got it. Our two rounds of drink glasses sat on the table until the food came out and, because there was no room on the table for our meal plates, I moved them to an empty table nearby. We asked for water w/no ice...got glasses so topped with ice that there was very little room for water. Asked for a bowl of lemon wedges...got it after our meals were served. Only one out of 5 meals was accurate - ribs came out slathered in BBQ sauce despite requested BBQ sauce on the side, the green beans tasted like pure sugar, the loaded potato came out w/o any of the toppings. We spoke to the manager who was new and a transfer from another restaurant. He was cordial and addressed the dirty dishes, offered to bring new sides to replace the green beans (although he only brought 1 new side vs 2), brought the loaded potato sides, etc. We haven't been to Cheddar's forever and previous visits were never like this. The poor service, mediocre food, price of our ticket, combined with pretty much NOTHING done to remedy the basic restaurant unacceptable mishaps...such a HUGE disappointment and we will not recommend or return. Wow! Cheddar's at 11711 E. 13th in Wichita has to be the worst restaurant I have been to in 30 years. And the worst Cheddar's any of my party had ever eaten at. From a mouthy and incompetent manager to a wait staff that brings the salads after the meal. The food was really bad. The Alfredo sauce had been cut with milk, the pasta was under cooked even though it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Attention corporate, either train the staff or close the restaurant. This complaint would have been sent directly to Dardin offices, but they do not have a direct complaint email or phone number - kind of makes you wonder. read more

My wife and I were visiting Wichita from the West Coast. This restaurant was near our hotel so we decided to give it a try since we don't have this restaurant where we live. We were told 25-30 minute wait which turned out to be only 15 minutes so that was a big bonus. We were seated and greeted quickly by our server. She took our drinks and dinner orders. I had the Chicken Tenders and Shrimp, my wife had the grilled key west chicken and my mother in law had the grilled white fish. While waiting for our meals, we ordered drinks from the bar. The drinks took as long as our food to arrive. My food was fine. My wife's and mother in laws was cool to the touch. Nothing on their plates was even warm. So, we sent the dishes back. It took another 15 mins or so for the kitchen to refire the dishes. But the time their food returned I was finished with my meal. This time their food arrived hot but my wife's food was now had the incorrect sides. She chose to eat it versus waiting for it to be fixed again. I wouldn't come back but I won't be visiting Wichita again anyway. But diners beware. You'll pay full price and each have dinner at separate times. read more
