We were in Newton for our son's basketball game. Looking for dinner options. We places an online order to pick up, it was late and about 25 minutes before they were scheduled to close. We had ordered a couple baked potatoes and some sandwiches. Turns out they were out of potatoes. When I arrived at the store for pickup, Marcus worked with me on arranging suitable replacements for the potatoes and made absolutely sure I was happy with the food I received. I don't know where to begin with this fraud of a BBQ restaurant. I have never written a negative review, but this is just buyer beware. I ordered online the tailgater pack plus a slab for a catering event with a customer. Showed up and after waiting in line for 10 minutes they tell me they don't have my order. I only had 4 lbs of meat and a slab with sides and it took them nearly 40 minutes to scrape together yesterday's leftovers, plus no ribs. Granted they have a beautiful Southern Pride rotisserie there, but when they opened it to grab some more meat, the thing was completely empty. The smartest and best employee there was a sixteen year old kid. The two adults were clueless. I knew this would be a disaster and it was. Posting pics is not worth it. Imagine your Grandmas well done steaks and you get the picture. Zero stars. read more

To expand my previous review. The ribs are the best in the area. The beans can't be beaten anywhere. The place seems to always be clean and the staff is always friendly. However, be careful going through the drive thru. I paid for a full rack of ribs and two pint sides. Because I was not being careful I drove away without looking at the order. Got home to find a half rack of ribs and two small sides, which I paid nearly $40 for. It was my fault for not being more careful. read more

The bbq here isn't unbelievable, but the smoked bologna is awesome. Also the staff here always treats me great and gives me more than enough sauces. Fast food. Salty stuff! Even for BBQ! The turkey was better than the pulled pork, and the Turkey portion size was larger. Bit into a sharp-ish bone while eating my pulled pork. That'll keep me from eating too fast! Loud alt rock radio station with a lot of commercials. NOT a Texas BBQ type place. Portions on the small side for the money. Texas toast was toasted on one side only. We left feeling full but will try another spot next time we're in Newton. Two 2-meat plates, each with two adequate sides, two fountain drinks ...$40. Honestly I cannot believe all the food is made fresh daily (to include fresh meat smoked daily on site), though someone from guest relations claimed that in another review. I was looking forward to trying this place. First and foremost I was super impressed by the staff. The two ladies that helped me tonight were fantastic. Unfortunately, food reviews are based on the food. Ordered a 3 meat plate and upgraded for an extra 2oz of meat. Doubled up on Pulled Pork and Polish sausage. Got a side of Mac and Cheese and a rib. I wanted Hot Links but one lady strongly advised against it as what they had left was over cooked and not very good. The Hot Links weren't actually that bad, but not as hot as I would've liked. The Polish Sausage was the star of tonight. Between that and the service is what earned the second star. The Pulled Pork was a disaster. Granted, I got there at the end of the night and it might not have been cooked recently. Completely bland, it needed tons of salt and had no flavor whatsoever. I ate maybe 6 bites and couldn't continue. The ribs were dry and flavorless as well, unless you count the flavor of burnt grill. Mac and cheese was mostly bland but it was a decent side. I might try this place again during a lunch rush in the hopes that the pulled pork would be moist and tender. Brutal night for $15 worth of food that I just couldn't eat. read more

Delicious food. We especially love their sides. The macaroni, beans, and loaded baked potato salad are by far our favorites, but the regular potato salad and coleslaw are also good. The drive through is super convenient. We often pick this up to take with as aides for a gathering. They do a fabulous job wrapping it up so I think g spills. read more
