The service was beyond fantastic. In the middle of Kansas, the fresh scallops were the best meal that my date had ever had, and they are from coastal Maine. If I could give this more than five stars I would. This place is incredible. First off I highly recommend making reservations cause it seems like a pretty popular upscale place. The design of the restaurant is gorgeous. It is open concept with big beautiful windows and a ton of natural light, but it still feels so elevated but not too elevated that you can't wear jeans but elevated enough that you could wear heels. I saw people dressed casual in there, and I saw people dressed in suits. I highly recommend sitting at the chef's table, which is the counter that belly's right up to the chefs that are cooking right out in the open. It is the coolest experience to watch their every move and listen to them communicate with each other. You do not feel any heat off of the grill or the stove because of the way it's set up. You just get to watch them make their magic. I expected this place to be overly priced because it is so nice but honestly, the prices are great. For the experience and for the food, I was more than happy with the pricing. The hospitality there is top-notch from the second you walk in and every minute after that, you feel like you are paid attention to and that you matter. You feel like all of the staff are grateful for you but not in an overbearing way just in a very appreciative way. This restaurant truly understands that the customers are what keep them in business. We had a 5 PM reservation on a Saturday night. Like I said, we ate at the chefs table. As soon as we sat down, the owner came up and greeted us and shook our hands, introduced himself and introduced us to all of the chefs that were cooking. I noticed he did that with everybody at the chefs table, so it was such a cool experience. Then he brought us out a little sample to try that isn't on the menu and that was super nice. He checked on us a couple of times after that. In between him checking on us, we had the nicest waiter checking on us. He was more than a waiter. He was like a concierge of the restaurant. He knew about every dish and every drink and could give us very specific details about it and help us decide what we would like. Now to the food, wow I mean wow. This place is really really nice from an ambiance standpoint. Really great atmosphere and enjoyed the overall vibe. The food was good, but I wouldn't say completely outstanding for the price point. I appreciate the farm to table type approach and that's what males need really want to love the place. But the food just missed the mark for the price. Good.... But not outstanding as I would have expected. The drinks were really good and were something different than the normal which I really appreciated. The service was also something that was little awkward. It wasn't bad service, but a very long descriptions of things, back story, etc. when we needed more drinks, we kind of had to flag out waitress down. Again, nothing terrible...we were taken care of fine - but I think when you compare how much it costs vs. what the expectations were - it just overall missed slightly. The food was definitely fresh and delicious. I wouldn't say I was blown away but it was still fantastic. I would say skip on the tater tots, the roe just gets lost in the tater tot grease. They were nice to experience but nothing to rave about. After seeing the feta dip, I'd try that next time! Their drinks were also phenomenal. Service was okay, they did mess up and somehow our order was never submitted. They comped 3/4 of our drinks and gave us delicious cookies on the house. Very trendy place in downtown Wichita and everyone is talking about it now. We wanted to try it out for ourselves. This place is loud. And it was extremely busy. We got an appetizer of anchovies on toast. It was good. My main course was crab stuffed pasta with turnips and to be honest I didn't taste much crab. The turnips could've stood to be cooked a little longer. It came in a small bowl and I felt I kinda got cheated. Especially for the price. My boyfriend got a piece of pork with some gravy with it and some type of greens. It looked better than mine. Bottom line, this wasn't really our type of place, we like to have a more upscale relaxing dining experience and this wasn't it. The charcuterie plate was unexpected but in a good way since I didn't expect non-typical cheeses and meats like brie cheese. This restaurant elevates dishes to a whole new level since it has the level of culinary expertise that is usually only seen in bigger cities like Chicago or even KC, and it uses local Kansas ingredients which is a standout. The restaurant is also nicely decorated in the inside and in some spots I can actually watch the chefs cook food which was pretty neat. The campo lindo smoked chicken was pretty good. Unlike most restaurants, they actually make desserts in-house, so i ended up getting the carrot cake which was an elevate take on the usual carrot cake with sorbet and a different shape. My first visit to Lottē felt more like a welcome home. The entire crew was extremely friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about their craft; a chic interior design was upscale cool and inviting using natural tones and warm lighting with a bangin' playlist bumping through the speakers. My server, Merci, was a delight - she set me up at the Chef's Table and explained that their seasonal menu had just changed the day prior, so all of their offerings were fresh and seasonal, and locally sourced! On a quick work trip, I was initially looking for a solid meal after a long week, but was surprised by the refreshing punch packed in every aspect of my dining experience. I was up close to the action in their open concept kitchen, getting to see and smell all of the dishes going out to different tables, but the most memorable part of the Chef's Table seat was witnessing the detail that goes into each plating. As I enjoyed my refreshing cocktail and amuse bouche, provided by the head Chef after a quick hello donning his fly Lottē SnapBack (that they offer for purchase!), I got to watch the magic happen and form on each plate that left the pass. Each dish was well balanced and had a wide palette of flavors that complimented one another while unlocking a new pairing that revitalized my appreciation for simple ingredients! I sat at the bar with a full view of the chefs working, the staff is very attentive and the food is magnificent. I ordered the Paloma Noir as a drink, it may be seasonal but it was delicious and just perfect. But the star of the show is the Lamb Orecchiette, truly one of the best meals I've had in awhile. I really wanted to love this place because it has a lot going for it, especially when you first walk in. The ambiance is honestly one of the best parts. The lighting is warm, the space feels modern but still comfortable, and it has that upscale date night feel without being overly formal. It creates a great first impression and sets expectations for a really polished experience. Unfortunately, the rest didn't quite live up to that atmosphere. Service was probably the biggest letdown. Our server came off a bit awkward and did something I've honestly never experienced before. Multiple times during the meal, we were asked to lift our plates and glasses so they could wipe underneath them while we were still actively eating. It completely disrupted the flow of the meal and just felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. On top of that, drink service was pretty slow. We had empty sodas sitting on the table for a while, and even though several staff members walked by, no one really checked in or offered refills unless we flagged it. For a place at this price point, you expect a bit more attentiveness. The food itself was decent, but both entrees came out noticeably too salty. Not just slightly over seasoned, but enough that it took away from the overall enjoyment of the dishes. It was disappointing, especially given how promising everything looked. However, the cake was fantastic but again, $16 for a slice of cake in Wichita is just too much, I pay less when I visit LA for work trips. What really sealed it for me was the price. For two people, one appraiser and two entrees, two sodas, and a single slice of cake plus tip, we ended up at around 150 dollars. That's a pretty steep bill for a meal that had service issues and food that missed the mark on seasoning. Rotating menu every two months with locally sourced ingredients is great, but poor service and a steep price for overly salty food is enough to keep me from ever coming back. read more

I'm happy I found this place near our air bnb. We decided to visit Lotte thanks to my Yelp app during our business trip. The food and service were excellent. For dinner I ordered a sparkling glass of champagne, my significant other and I split a salad and the restaurant actually was kind enough to split for us without even having to ask. Our friends ordered the brioche which we got to try, and it was delicious as well. However, I feel like a sourdough would have been better but that's just me being picky. For our entrees I had the scallops upon recommendation from our lovely server, my guy had the crispy pork, my friend had the lamb dish with pasta, and her husband had a chicken dish. We all enjoyed our meals. If I had to rate the food alone I would give it a solid 3/5, it is good but the flavors and textures aren't mastered in my humble personal opinion. The service was amazing as well as the ambiance. I would highly recommend this place, and would give it a total of 4/5 stars. If you're ever in the area give this new restaurant a try! read more

What a wonderful experience at Lotte. The place is clean and well decorated, the food is incredible, and everyone was so nice! They are a farm to table establishment with many Gluten free and vegan options. They also have a garden on the roof and grow all their veggies! Our server, Miguel, gave us plenty of wonderful recommendations. We started with the feta dip, and then enjoyed the scallops and steak. The drinks were on point as well (a Manhattan and mocktail). We had an amazing experience. All the presentations of the food were phenomenal. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The waiter described the meat as "melt in your mouth" and his description was spot on. The steak dish had potatoes two ways and it provided a difference of texture and flavor I didn't know I was missing. The pappardelle pasta offered a complexities of flavors from citrus to savory that paired well together. The highlight of the night was definitely the Horchata Leche cake; it is a must get. The cake was not overly sweet and extremely moist. It had a lot of different textures that made the dish exceptional. We will definitely be coming back! The option for Iberico ham was great as well! We visited Lotte recently for a special dinner and it did not disappoint. They had just changed their menu and we started off with some Korean wings and the crudo, both of which were delicious. I had a cocktail, the Gin and Gourd which did not taste like I thought it would from the menu description, it was more citrusy, but was very good. Entrees were the sea bass with carrot risotto and the steak with a mushroom puree. My fish was delicious, beautiful crispy skin and the risotto was perfect with it. My husbands steak though was amazing, we were both scraping his plate at the end of the meal for another taste of the mushroom sauce. Service was perfect, great suggestions from our server and just the right amount of being checked up on. The restaurant is very clean and modern with a long Chefs table and funky light fixtures. My cocktail, a Hot Tivarri was off the charts good with a spiced honey and mexcal mix that was perfectly balanced. The locally sourced Crispy Suckling Pig with a mole sauce was particularly delicious with beautiful presentation. Greens grown at the building rooftop urban farm were sprinkled on the plate. Chef Josh Rathbun is always coming up with creative takes on his dishes that are unique and a delightful combo of flavors. This is one of THE best places to eat in Wichita, I go at least two times a month. My favorite is sitting at the chef's table and watching them prepare the meals. The chefs speak to you and give you little bites to try. I've tried almost every dish on the menu and everything is so good. The first two times I went I had the steak with pomme frites. It was really hard to make myself stop ordering that dish and try other things but I finally did and tried the suckling pig which tasted like crisp pulled pork and had faro and fennel which paired perfectly. Another time I tried the lamb orecchiette which may be my favorite, the feta cheese, the broccolini, the sauce and the lamb all go perfectly together. The scallops are so fresh and the crab agnolotti is bright and herby. The trout tastes like the perfect garden-fish pairing. They have a happy hour appetizer menu that isn't on the regular menu and my favorite dish is the tator tots. 5 tator tots with trout roe and the most delicious little dab of white sauce underneath. It sounds so small but it's perfect. I've also tried the chickpea panisse and the Korean sliders. When I've sat at the chef's table, I notice most people order the brioche for an appetizer which is brioche bread with jams. Super popular but I haven't tried it yet. Dessert js !! My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter parfait, it tastes like a pretzel/peanut brittle crust with peanut butter mousse topped with a spoonful of chocolate ganache. The lemon posset with crème brûlée on top has my heart with its delicate sugar crust and lemon custard. The matcha tres leches cake is a solid offering and tasty but it didn't blow my socks off in the way the other two did. The cheesecake is also good, but if you like peanuts even a little bit, try the parfait! Bartenders don't miss a beat either. I usually elect for a non-alcoholic cocktail and they have always have something new and tasty. The most delicious was a honey-fig concoction. Service is as you'd expect for a high-level restaurant like this. On point, well-executed, non-intrusive. Restaurant is located in downtown Wichita next to Grow and is a lovely space to relax and spend some time. Tables are spaced nicely so that conversations can be private but the space is not quiet. You can hear the chefs talking as well since they are out on the floor with the patrons. A wonderful experience and a great representation for Wichita's food scene. read more

The appetizer I've enjoyed twice is the Tuna Crudo. Last night, I had the Sliders which were really good, too. I dined with a group of friends last night so I also got to taste the Korean Chicken Wings and Anchovy Toast. Both were tasty but the Tuna Crudo is the most memorable for me. For the main dish, I've had the Lamb Orecchiette before and that was tasty. The portion looks small but it was just the right amount to be full. Last night I had the Duck Breast and it was perfection! Hubs has had the Grilled Bavette Steak twice and enjoyed it both times. Our group shared three desserts: Carrot Cake, Horchata Tres Leche, and Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake.
