A little request from me while reading this review. Close your eyes. Think of all the food memories you have with your family. Could be anything from Grandma telling you the secret ingredient in her Thanksgiving stuffing to the way you remember a family member eating pancakes. That last pancake one was from my grandpa on my mom's side. Him using a fork upside down to deliver the syrupy squares is in fact one of the few memories I have of him as he died when I was 3 or 4. I think I threw his dentures down the toilet too. I said food though! OK, onto where I'm going with this. Move forward a couple of years and dad telling me about burgers. His philosophy was mustard goes on a hamburger. Mayo goes on cheeseburgers. And, said cheesey and mayo goodness is made EVEN better if you pepper each bite. It's true! Try it! When I hit the signature red button the employee told me this location carries 0 pepper packets. I ask you folks, what restaurant in ALL OF AMERICA does not have pepper readily available to it's customers? I did complain via the 800 number, never got a response. Literally every time I go, there is at least one thing wrong. Went today and my wife ordered a large strawberry lemonade (not a slush) with peach. She was brought a Vanilla Coke, informed the carhop and she returned about 10 minutes later with a small lemonade slush without the strawberry or peach. When I looked up their menu on line there was a Grilled cheese burger featured. It looked good so of course I ordered it. Big mistake! The picture showed a layered sandwich I.e. cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese. In reality I had to look for cheese (2slices) and the meat was so thin and dry it was like cardboard. I felt compelled to leave this review for Sonic after the great experience I had there during the recent hard freeze. It was about 9:30 pm and well below freezing. The city of Fredericksburg had rolled up the sidewalks. Nothing was open. Whataburger had long closed. As I'm driving by Sonic, I notice activity and lights on, so I pulled in. Yep, they're open. It's been years since I've had food from Sonic -- any Sonic. Not only were the employees in good spirits and happy to serve, despite some running food out to cars in freezing temps, the food was excellent. The food was hot and appeared to be freshly made, came out relatively quickly, and tasted great. Nice job, Sonic team. read more

Very long wait is the usual here. Food is usually fine but they forgot my shake and when they brought it out it looked like someone dropped it in the trash and let it melt. Business schools across the nation would do well to cite the Fredericksburg Sonic as a management disaster. This was illustrated by the fact that a national campaign for Cheesesteak sandwiches, initiated by the home office, stated that they were available for purchase. However, in Fredericksburg, they did not have said item, despite the video menu touting how wonderful they are! On Sunday, Jan 12th, 2020, my girlfriend and I were sexually harassed, slandered and humiliated in front of everyone present at the Fredericksburg, TX @sonicdrivein location. The Sonic staff has done nothing to resolve the situation and has done a very poor job of making and keeping contact with me. I feel as if they are just waiting for me to "go away". An employee made a reference to the size of my PENIS, asked me "what I was going to do about it." And also told other customers I was being rude...when I was definitely not...and even if I had been... you can not reference someone's anatomy in front of all the customers and staff at your work place. I can only imagine how this man speaks to the other employees if he is able to speak to a customer in such a way. I have never made a complaint on an order or filed a complaint of any kind on anyone, until now. I understand some people have an off day....however, this is completely unacceptable. I want to know how Sonic is going to resolve this situation?? So far they have given me no resolution and have hardly even contacted me. In a a situation of this caliber I would think Sonic would want to immediately resolve it. My girlfriend and I are embarrassed by the entire situation. We frequent this location at least twice a week and have never had an issue. On Sunday it's become a tradition to go there before we go home. At this point we never want to see a Sonic Drive-In again. The car hop Erica was great...the individual that performed these acts would not give me his name. Probably because they know they had sexually harassed someone. Six days after the incident, me reporting the incident to local management and there is still no resolution to the situation. I have been contacted one time and that was 1/14/2020. I was assured that the situation would be handled two days later when the employee got back to work. After multiple attempts, privately and through social media, I still have not heard back from Sonic. Apparently it's okay to be sexually harassed at Sonic. What is going on with Sonic? I understand the lack of finding good help. But don't make excuses for being short handed. Serve your clients in a timely manner. It's not the car hops service....it's the answering your orders, and getting them out in a decent time. Twice in one week, when it has not been packed, I have waited no less than 4 minutes to place an order, while the guy next to me was waiting before I got there (02/26 @ 10:45 am), needless to say someone else got our business today. And we waited over 5 minutes for a drink only (02/19 @ 2:30pm) Is there an efficiency problem? Possibly. Have you ever looked at your process? A drink only orders delivery person. Went to this Sonic on Sunday. I asked for a Limeade. After a couple of sips, I knew this was Sprite or maybe Mountain Dew with a piece of lime dropped into the cup. When I questioned it, I was told, "that's how we make our limeade". That is ridiculous. Many many times I have ordered a limeade and it was lime juice with pieces of lime. They asked If I wanted something else. I ordered a lime slush. Definitely a frozen drink made from lime juice! read more

Ok, I gave this establishment 2 stars as the food as usual was typical Sonic Style. What I mean by that is the same principle the food tasted like any other Sonic that I have been to. We stopped at this one as we were headed out of town to take a road trip to California. So we stopped here. We figured we would let the kids out of the car for the time being as it was going to be a serious haul. As we stepped out there was barely anyone there at the time, so very few cars were around. The problem we faced was that there was a group of kids around the ordering platform by the tables and they were just sitting there ordering their food. After about 5 min of waiting we looked around us and saw all of the unused ordering platforms for drive thru cars, so I went and ordered from a open one. After I placed the order I asked the person there to deliver it to the table. A lady came out a min later and started yelling at me that I was not allowed to order from the drive through platforms and eat my food at the table. I actually laughed a little bit and pointed out the people hogging the platform by the table. She then told me that since I ordered from the platform where the empty spot was, that no one could order from there. Talk about bureaucracy at its finest. Its funny, one goes to a place like Sonic to order food, and someone comes out telling you that you ordered food wrong. Does that really make sense? No, but then again, rules are rules. I gave it two stars for the food. The service was appalling and seriously will never go back to that place again. Seriously that type of attitude from the service woman was unnecessary and ridiculous. read more

Decided to stop in for a milkshake after attending a performance at the Fredericksburg Theater last night. Sonic is sort of a staple place with the menu being the same at each. I regularly buy pineapple milkshake. They didn't have that flavor. They are are to spot in the dark. No lighted sign. There is a sign but it isn't lit up. Girl that brought out the shakes was less than pleasant. It was obvious she wasn't thrilled to be at work. Paid with credit card. Usually tip but not this time. Too grouchy. Very difficult to communicate over speaker. Am sure that was due to the speaker. read more

My daughter was sick and craved a cranberry-limeade. I ordered and received a Rte 44 size, and as I drove off, it toppled from my cupholder. I returned to order another one, and they gave it to me at no charge. With a smile and a thank you. THAT is unexpected, and what makes a great place to satisfy your cranberry-limeade cravings. We ordered large coke and large coffee during 99 cent morning drinks. They said they only had 1.59 coffee (???). So we ordered. Waited. Waited. Waited. They told us they had to make new coffee. I said okay and asked how long it would be; they said three minutes. Another ten minutes. Brought out with no straw and sloppy coffee cup. No napkins. We were there more than twenty minutes and had a cup of burnt tasting coffee. We will look elsewhere for our morning stop. read more
