My app froze and wouldn't let me check in, so I went inside -- and wow, this team deserves serious recognition! The restaurant was packed with travelers, and the line was full of people placing orders. The cashier was doing an amazing job calmly explaining which items were unavailable, even while dealing with a few frustrated customers. Despite the chaos, every single staff member -- from the manager to the cashier to the crew preparing and handing out orders -- stayed calm, friendly, respectful, and focused on helping everyone as quickly as possible. Their teamwork, patience, and professionalism under pressure were truly impressive. Plus our food was delicious! Huge kudos to this entire Whataburger crew for keeping things running smoothly during an incredibly busy holiday rush!

The building itself was built in 1890 initially as a mercantile store, then cycled through a number of other businesses over the years until settling on Francisco's. Besides indoor tables, they also have a number of seating options outside on the sidewalk if the weather is agreeable. There isn't a river view, but it could be good people watching on a busy tourist day. The interior is a single space with high ceilings and tons of art on the walls. It's small but feels intimate not tight. I wouldn't call the place fine dining or upscale, but it's a step above casual. We were there for lunch and I felt fine in shorts and flip flops, but wonder if dinner is a different story. The lunch menu was mostly simple cafe sandwiches, salads, soups, and a couple different nachos/chips and salsa/chips and queso appetizer options. The Mexican food were primarily the daily specials the waitress rattled off for us. Speaking of, service was very friendly prompt, and helpful. Our waitress did a great job helping us figure out what we were in the mood for, offered substitutions and chatted us up on where we were from and what we were doing around town. Great staff. Overall if you're in town and looking for a sit down meal keep Francisco's on your list of options.

We ate at Thai O'cha while staying in Kerrville and had a great dinner…read more After a couple nights of chicken fried steak, burgers, and fried seafood we were hoping to grab something different for dinner and Thai O'cha popped up on Yelp as a top local favorite. The restaurant is in what looks like a repurposed house which added to the warm home vibes when we walked in. I didn't get a long look about though because we asked to sit outside to enjoy the rainstorm and view of the river below. (They have 3-4 tables on their covered back porch overlooking the river. Great spot if they're open) Service was good. The waiter was on top of our needs and wasn't gone for too long at any time. He also greeted other diners like old friends when they came in, so they clearly have a solid local following. The menu offers all the greatest hits of American Thai food, pad thai, curries, spring rolls, drunken noodles, Tom Yum, and so forth. Everything we ordered was great and scratched that Thai food craving itch. In the hill country and looking for a great view and something off the beaten path? Thai O'cha might be the answer!
