It's easy to order online and then pull into a spot for someone to bring you your food. Food has always been piping hot and fresh. The headsets where out which was an annoyance but not the problem. We pull up to the window she opens the window and has an AirPod in. We order and she keeps telling us to repeat our selfs because she had an air pod in. Then when we were getting our drinks they made it wrong and it was disgusting. I really am not sure why this particular Sonic has such terrible reviews. All I know is, my experience here last week was quite good, especially considering we are still knee deep in a pandemic and most restaurants, particularly drive thru operations like this, are running very slowly and haphazard recently. We were planning to stop into DQ next door for ice cream after shopping at the outlets, but couldn't get in the parking lot. The drive thru was a mess, wasn't moving, the parking lot was a quagmire. We turned around and bolted for the Sonic around the corner. Lo and behold, the drive thru line was quick, efficient, and the shakes were hand delivered by a young manager outside to our car. We had food immediately. She was polite, the order was correct, no confusion, no screw up, no wait. In this pandemic, when we're used to drawn out drive thru lines, etc, having such a short wait time was a blessing. Great service and the shakes were good. We'll be back. read more

If you were initially dissuaded by the consistent poor reviews, let that be an unfortunate forewarning. Reviewing what some previous comrades said, I tend to agree. I evaluated their standard food and drinks, but no ice cream. I would hope the ice cream is good, but after my experience to be described below, I went to DQ next door instead (and I won't be back to Sonic to find out) The burgers were dry, fries and tots were extremely greasy and bitter, and the slushes were unnaturally sour. Overall, the quality of the food I received was most veritably not worth the price I paid. The next day, I found my visit to be extremely regrettable. Wink... wink... They take at least five minutes before they even take your order. Then you wait 20 minutes to get your food... in a drive thru... with one car. They work with AirPods in their ears. The food is never consistent. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. For the quality of the service, food, and drinks, the price should not be so high. Hubby and son said their burgers were good. I got popcorn chicken which was rock hard and virtually inedible. Tater tots had a bitter aftertaste. We were missing an order of fries, and since we were all the way back in Saginaw when the omission was discovered, too late to deal with. My wife and I were headed home after a concert and were hungry, and at 11:20 p.m. not much was open. We decided to give Sonic a try, and pulled up to a drive-in stand and tried to order chili dogs. We're sorry, we were told - the grill is not open now...you'll have to order something from the fryer. OK, we said, we'll have some chicken strips and fries...and we waited.
